Think Martin (13:58) needs to look at the bigger picture here. Every WSL game in a PL stadium has huge numbers of empty seats because it’s a closed shop at the top. The PL is a competitive league throughout. The WSL is more like the Scottish league with the same two/three clubs challenging and everyone else making up the numbers. Added to the Lionesses slump in form it’s no surprise interest is waning.

    Tottenham 0-2 Arsenal

Even while impressing last season, Spurs had the odd rank performance last season. I witnessed them getting spanked 7-0 at Manchester City, where they were well off the pace.

It looked in the early stages like this could go the same way, but Spurs finally seem to have roused themselves.

Double substitution for West Ham as they search for an equaliser.

    Tottenham 0-2 Arsenal

Spurs are getting balls into the box now, turning Arsenal around. A deep cross is headed behind by Emily Fox under little pressure.

Clare Hunt went down in the area and wanted a penalty, nothing doing.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November

    Tottenham 0-2 Arsenal

    Spurs have woken up now!

Drew Spence feeds Bethany England, who fires a brilliant effort from 22 yards that Daphne van Domselaar has to go full stretch up to her left to tip over the crossbar.

    Stunning save.

West Ham will be gutted if they fall to defeat here even though Brighton have been the better side.

  10. 'Arsenal one and two touch in final third'published at 14:18 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November

    Tottenham 0-2 Arsenal

    Gilly Flaherty
Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC One

When Arsenal get into the final third it is now more one and two touch football. Before it used to be touch, touch, touch and then the opportunity was gone.

  11. CLOSE!published at 14:18 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November

    Tottenham 0-2 Arsenal

Arsenal have to be very careful to stay focused here.

Keeper Daphne van Domselaar dawdles on the ball, and is very nearly dispossessed by the onrushing Hayley Raso.

  12. Postpublished at 14:16 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November

    Tottenham 0-2 Arsenal

Arsenal come very close to 3-0 from a corner, as Caitlin Foord's volley from six yards is blocked by Clare Hunt.

Another set piece for the Gunners results, but this time Becky Spencer makes the catch.

Given how this game has gone so far, I couldn't possibly be so presumptuous...

Building an identity and sticking to it is all well and good but when you’re getting beaten heavily, you need to adapt and find a way to stop conceding goals. Tottenham are all over the place. 2-0 down at home to Arsenal within half an hour.

Frida Maanum has had the run of the midfield today and the Arsenal woman is ruling it with an iron fist.

Having witnessed her collapse in the League Cup final last March, it is great to see Maanum in full flow.

    Tottenham 0-2 Arsenal

Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC One

Tottenham are sitting off Arsenal and allowing them to have the ball but they are also allowing them to play through. No one is tight enough to Frida Maanum, she is allowed to just turn and shoot. It is a good finish but Tottenham are making it far too easy for them.

This game could not have gone much worse for Spurs so far.
