Summary

  1. 'Perfect start' for Woltemadepublished at 16:10 BST

    Newcastle 1-0 Wolves

    Shay Given
Former Newcastle goalkeeper talking to BBC Sport

It’s the perfect start isn’t it, scoring on your debut at St James’ Park.

I’ve been interested to see the positions he takes up. There was a lot of talk before the game than he’s more a number 10 than a nine. But I'm sure Eddie Howe and his staff will be saying ‘yeah, he’s a good link-up player but with his size, you have to get the ball to him in the box’.

It was a very promising first half.

  2. CLOSE!published at 16:09 BST

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Sunderland

Big chance for Crystal Palace as Jean-Philippe Mateta stretches out a boot to prod a cross at goal but Robin Roefs saves well before the follow-up effort is blocked.

  3. Postpublished at 16:09 BST

    Fulham 0-0 Leeds

Leeds striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin flicks the ball in for Noah Okafor but he's tackled just as he's about to shoot.

  4. 'Rogers has been poor'published at 16:08 BST

    Everton 0-0 Aston Villa

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool and Aston Villa defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

He has been poor today, Morgan Rogers. He has shined for England on the international break, but he has struggled.

  5. goal

GOAL - Bournemouth 1-1 Brightonpublished at 16:07 BST

    Kaoru Mitoma (48 mins)

    It's all square!

Kaoru Mitoma isn't the tallest of players but he leaps highest at the far post to meet Yankuba Minteh's cross and nod in.

The perfect start to this second half for the Seagulls.

  6. Postpublished at 16:07 BST

    Newcastle 1-0 Wolves

Bit strange to think 27% of Newcastle's line-up today are taller than 6ft 5in.

  7. CLOSE!published at 16:06 BST

    Everton 0-0 Aston Villa

    Another big chance for Beto!

James Garner fires in a really inviting cross and all it needs is a touch, but Beto can't make the right one.

  8. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:06 BST

    Newcastle 1-0 Wolves

The second half is under way here. Can Newcastle see it out?

  9. Postpublished at 16:05 BST

    Bournemouth 1-0 Brighton

Jack Hinshelwood, who picked up an ankle injury less than a minute into this game, has emerged after half-time, hobbling out of the tunnel on a pair of crutches with his foot in a protective boot.

  10. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:04 BST

    Bournemouth 1-0 Brighton

Back under way on the sunny south coast.

I've just re-watched Alex Scott's goal and I think the assist might better than his stunning finish. Antoine Semenyo took the ball down beautifully and then tapped a cheeky nutmeg through Kaoru Mitoma's legs before teeing up Scott.

Let's see what this second half holds in store.

  11. Postpublished at 16:04 BST

    Fulham 0-0 Leeds

Chance for Leeds to open the scoring as Brenden Aaronson is picked out at the near post but his effort is straight at Bernd Leno.

  12. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:04 BST

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Sunderland

We're back under way in this one after a largely forgettable first half.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:03 BST

    Everton 0-0 Aston Villa

A change for Aston Villa as Youri Tielemans is replaced by Evann Guessand for the second half.

The core of Villa's squad has been the same for a few years, they're getting older. Spending restrictions mean they can only get loan players in. Is it any wonder they're struggling?

  17. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:02 BST

Newcastle deserve this lead at half time. Wolves were on top for the first thirty minutes. But it is Newcastle who took there chances well.

  19. Magical Maduekepublished at 15:58 BST

    FT: Arsenal 3-0 Nottingham Forest

    Tom McCoy
    BBC Sport journalist

Over 5,000 Arsenal fans signed a petition against signing Noni Madueke this summer but the 23-year-old has begun the new season in fine form for club and country.

The winger had 12 touches in the opposition box today – as many as all of Forest’s players combined.

The Gunners directed 44.7% of their attacks down the right flank to get the Englishman on the ball and he was a constant source of danger.

  20. 'Things can only get better for Villa'published at 15:57 BST

    Everton 0-0 Aston Villa

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool and Aston Villa defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It was brilliant at the start from Everton. There was a wave of attack with the pressure they were putting on Aston Villa. Credit to Aston Villa, they stayed in the game and made Everton step back a little bit. Things can only get better for Aston Villa but David Moyes will be very pleased with what he's seen.
