Just going back to the goal, a few Port Vale defenders were looking at goalkeeper Ben Amos as he was beaten by Ben Jackson's shot at his near post.

I'm not sure Amos will have seen it until late as it came through a host of players in front of him.

There is some thinking for Darren Moore to do to try to get his side involved in the game.

It's all square and who else but Matthew Dennis?

The man who was released by MK Dons just last month rises highest to get on the end an Archie Davies cross to steer home a header from close range.

    Game well and truly on!

Barrow have been much the better side and now they're buoyed by the goal.

They move the ball really well.

    Vale just can't get going.

It's really good play by Jack Sanders for MK Dons. He's having a really good game back there and he just stops Terell Thomas from getting on the end of it.

Carlisle's Jordan Jones is clipped from behind by Dan Crowley and the hosts win a free-kick in a promising position about 30 yards from goal.

Cameron Harper curls in an excellent ball from the set-piece but nobody in a blue shirt can get on the end of it.

    It's fully deserved.

From the set-piece the ball arrives at the feet of Ben Jackson and his shot threads its way through a crowd scene for his first league goal of the season.

    Port Vale 0-0 Barrow

Ronan Curtis is stood over a free-kick which he promptly dinks over the bar - groans all around Vale Park.

A few fans are heading for the tea bar, sounds like a good idea to me - no sugar in mine please guys.

    Carlisle 0-1 MK Dons

MK Dons launch a ball into the box but Carlisle defender Cameron Harper is just tugged back by Joe White as it loops towards the back stick and the ref spots it.

Just two shots in the game so far after 20 minutes... and one of those was the goal for the visitors.

    Port Vale 0-0 Barrow

Half an hour gone and it's 0-0, very 0-0.

However, this would be enough to send Port Vale back into the automatic promotion places but the home fans will want a lot more from their side.

    Barrow will be very content.

    Carlisle 0-1 MK Dons

MK Dons are knocking the ball about nicely in their own half, much to the frustration of some sections of the home support.

Carlisle struggling to get going in the opening 14 minutes or so.

The Cumbrians are seven points from safety as things stand.

Tom Sang gets the home crowd interested as he darts past his man but his shot is blocked and the ball ends up in the hands of Barrow goalkeeper Paul Farman.

The noise levels were briefly raised but it's back to a general chatter again.

You would argue Barrow have been the better side here.

Vale look a bit leggy and tired and just have not got going.

We just didn't press high enough and Nemane had space to run into in behind.

We just need to regroup a little bit. We don't need to go chasing it, there is plenty of time left in the game.

Port Vale, we may have a game in hand but generally, not good enough to go up this season. The football is awful to watch and some of these wins lately have been lucky; a loss tonight will prove me right!

    Port Vale 0-0 Barrow

Ben Jackson has a shot for Barrow and it deflects up and over the bar for a corner - it's a good block from Kyle John.

Ben Amos gets nowhere near a cross when the ball comes back in but a second cross loops into the goalkeeper's hands.

    It's quiet around Vale Park.

Not an ideal start for Carlisle...

Aaron Nemane bursts into the box down the right after a neat move by MK Dons and pulls it back across goal to the far stick for Joe Tomlinson to slot home.

Gabriel Breeze got a touch on it in the home goal but couldn't keep it out.

Barrow continue to press well in this one.

They are not giving Port Vale any time on the ball.

It's a bit messy from the home side and they just can't get going.
