Falkirk manager John McGlynn has just called Buckie Thistle's journey down to Ayr United "a camel trek".

  12. Hibs' Gray has eyes on next roundpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 27 July

    Hibernian v Peterhead (15:00)

Hibernian head coach David Gray tells Sportsound: "We've had a really good week's training but the test will be make sure we get that reaction today.

"It's a strong team. Everyone's got the minutes into their legs now.

"They're a very strong team that I think gives us the best chance to go and win the game, which is what we need to do to progress to the next stages."

  13. Peterhead 'task is massive'published at 14:54 British Summer Time 27 July

    Hibernian v Peterhead (15:00)

Peterhead opened Group C with a 5-0 humbling at home to Queen's Park but followed that up with 4-2 win at home to East Kilbride and 1-0 win at Kelty Hearts.

And today, they could usurp Hibernian to top spot with victory at Easter Road.

Peterhead co-manager Ryan Strachan tells Sportsound: "We know the task is massive. We've given ourselves a fighting chance.

"The group showed a lot of character to bounce back [from the opening defeat] and get maximum points from the next two games."

  18. H for hitting the target...published at 14:43 British Summer Time 27 July

    Group H

And last but not least, Group H, which so far has stood for the Highlands.

Ross County remain in cruise control and only need a point at home to League 2 visitors Stirling Albion to finish on top.

If the Premiership side suffer a surprise defeat, Raith Rovers would win the group with a home win over Championship rivals Hamilton Academical.

That victory might need to be by a few goals if the Kirkcaldy side are to go through as runners-up, but as we all know from last season, Raith are more than capable of firing them in...

  19. Don't take your eyes off Dunachie...published at 14:41 British Summer Time 27 July

    Group G

    Logan DunachieImage source, SNS

If you haven't seen Logan Dunachie's first goal against Partick Thistle on Tuesday, I'll allow you to momentarily leave this live text to check it out.

I'm still thinking about it, what a finish.

Ian McCall has worked his magic throwing the young lad up top for the Bully Wee having previously played in defence.

Unsurprisingly, McCall wanted to nail him down and just in the last few minutes, it's been announced the 20-year-old has signed a new two-year deal.

He could make the day even better by ending it top of Group G if he helps his side to a win over Montrose.

No matter what, though, the League 2 side will then have to wait to see how current group leaders Motherwell fare on Sunday, so celebrations may be tame...

  20. Can Saints improve on 'terrible, terrible performance'?published at 14:38 British Summer Time 27 July

    Group F

Craig Levein didn't mince his words in the aftermath of St Johnstone's midweek defeat to Alloa Athletic.

He had a bit of a smile on his arrival at McDiarmid Park earlier today, but he knows his side's fate is now outwith his hands.

They will need to beat League 2 visitors East Fife, who are a point ahead, and hope leaders Alloa do not beat Greenock Morton or claim a penalty shootout bonus point after a draw.

A win would take the Fifers through even if they finish second.

No wonder Dick Campbell is so cheery...
