    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou says he has not been "deterred" by his job at the club, reiterating that the club still has work to do.

When asked whether the problems he highlighted after the midweek loss to Manchester City have been addressed, he said: "Not in two days, mate, no.

"I think, as I said at the time, we have some work to do. It is clear and evident and that is what we need to focus on.

"I have been determined from day one. Nothing has changed. I haven't been deterred, if that's what people are worried about.

"When you accept the role you accept what comes with it. Nothing has changed in terms of how we go about that. But you have to know where you are at."

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino on team news: "He [Christopher Nkunku] played more than we expected because of Mykhailo Mudryk [following concussion protocols]. I think tomorrow we will assess him to see if he can start. It will be difficult to play 90 minutes. We need not to take risks. With the performance and medical staff, we will make the best decision for him."

Chelsea earlier confirmed in their injury update that Carney Chukwuemeka is in team training.

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino on the possibility of finishing in the top six: “It's really important to finish in the way that we are doing now and I think with confidence and way we were playing in last few months.

"It is really important for team, for the players, for the club to be close to achieving one of our objectives - to play in Europe next season.

"I think the most important now is continuing to perform try to be sure we are going to compete in best way. It's going to be a really tough game because Bournemouth are doing so well. Andoni Iraola is doing a good job but most important [for us] is to finish well and see if we have the chance to get the place [in Europe]."

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino on Reece James, who was sent off in midweek: “It was a really difficult season but now we need to help him to move on and then to accept punishment that will be there in the next few days.

"Most important is to back him, to trust in him, for sure he needs to be ready for pre-season to start to train to build his fitness and then the talent is there.

"For sure next season he is going to be one of the best players in the Premier League."

Chelsea v Bournemouth (Sun, 16:00 BST)

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino on whether VAR needs to be scrapped: “I am not involved in this process. I like the VAR. The way we need to improve is how we use VAR - that for me is the key.

"We need to be open and to welcome the new technology. I think it's good for football, [we only need] to decide the best strategy to improve in the way we use VAR."

  8. The fans need to trust in us - Pochettinopublished at 13:13 British Summer Time 17 May

Chelsea v Bournemouth (Sun, 16:00 BST)

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino on if he expects to feel some love from the fans at the end of the game on Sunday: “After the game it's natural, things happen, will come, if not its not a problem. I'm going to show my respect to the fans. We always try to be very respectful.

"We understand very well in this business that the fans are the best things at a football club and they are entitled to give their opinions in different ways. You need to respect. We are here because of them.

"They [the fans] need to trust in us. The only way that they can trust in us is the results because the process and work we are doing inside is difficult for them to analyse because they don't know what we are doing every single day."

On support from the owners: "It's important to have the backing of the owners, they are the bosses. It is the best for the club, the players and for the fans. We know very well that coaches are always judged about the result in a very short period."

A nice moment at Chelsea before the press conference gets underway. Brian Pullman has worked at the club for 56 years and this weekend will be his last before the 86-year-old retires from his part-time job.

He is the person who welcomes the media at press conferences at the stadium and the training ground and the journalists in the room have got him a card and presented him with a present before his final weekend in his role.

According to a column written in the Sun, Brian has seen 30 managers come and go in his time!

  11. We have to be focused more than ever - Guardiolapublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 17 May

Man City v West Ham (Sun, 16:00 BST)

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on possibly winning the title: "We want to experience it again and we have to perform. You can't think 'we want to win it', you have to do something to [earn] it, you have to be resilient in the bad moments like what happened against Aston Villa [in 2022] and against Spurs in the last game.

"Don't talk about the consequences, just what you have to do to win, to control it, the transitions, the coolness, the set-pieces, the long balls - how you defend every single ball. There's a lot of stuff that West Ham demand that you have to do, and you have to do it perfect. These are the only things on my mind.

"I don't want to play the game thinking about the consequences, what will happen if. We have to be focused more than ever and feel the support of our people - this is what we need to think about.

"If you are waiting for them to drop [points] and become champions, you are wrong. If you are thinking Arsenal are going to drop points at Old Trafford [last week], forget about it. If you are thinking Everton are going to do something [at Arsenal on Sunday], forget about it."

  12. 'Players were relieved after Spurs win'published at 13:04 British Summer Time 17 May

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola on whether his players can have an 'Aguero moment', referring to their last gasp winning of the 2011-12 Premier League title: "I saw the reaction in the locker room at Spurs. They were relieved, wow, but there were not extra celebrations or something like that. They were happy but incredibly calm, nothing more special than another game in the Premier League. They knew it gave us a chance for the final day of the season."

  13. Kane out of Bayern's final fixturepublished at 13:01 British Summer Time 17 May

Some slightly worrying England news from Germany, where Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has said Harry Kane is out of this weekend's game with a back problem.

Kane will not face Hoffenheim in Bayern's final Bundesliga match of the season tomorrow due to the injury.

It follows the England captain being forced off in the latter stages of Bayern's Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid with the same issue.

"Harry is receiving treatment from his personal doctor. He cannot travel," Tuchel said today.

"He was already at the limit in Madrid. He had a complete blockade in his back, it's gotten worse and bothers him in everyday movements."

  14. We are in the best position - Guardiolapublished at 12:57 British Summer Time 17 May

Man City v West Ham (Sun, 16:00 BST)

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola: "Even if we don't win it, [the players] have been so fine in this period. Still we are here together, nothing's going to change.

"But if you ask all the Premier League teams at the beginning of the season what would be the better position in the last game of the season, we are in the best position. That's for sure. We have one game left, destiny's in our hands."

On proving wrong those who said Guardiola's style wouldn't be successful in England: "I remember [people saying] you couldn't win the Premier League without tackling, those kind of things, but since then I've forgotten. That's part of the process, it gave me the energy.

"In football you have to get the energy inside and say 'OK, we're going to prove you are wrong'. Otherwise you're flat, you're comfortable, you get a lot of compliments, but compliments take out the necessary energy to compete."

I hope it ends like the 94-95 season where West Ham pulled off an unlikely result and took the title away from Manchester. Tony Gale then led the Blackburn players in a rendition of ‘I’m forever blowing bubbles’ as part of their celebrations. Surely Rice would take the mic this time around!

  17. Guardiola expects 'tough game' from Hammerspublished at 12:42 British Summer Time 17 May

Man City v West Ham (Sun, 16:00 BST)

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on West Ham: "We would like to be 3-0 up after 10 minutes but that's not going to happen.

"I'm ready for it to be a tough, tough game. I want to put in the mind of the players, 'look at Tottenham [on Tuesday], how they fought for every ball'.

"[West Ham] will be ready to beat us. I don't have any doubt about that. It was the same with Aston Villa two years ago - they were in the same position, they didn't have anything to play for - and we know what happened.

"Our people have to come here and be ready from the first minute, to be with us and do it together."

He also rejects assertions that this has been a trickier title to win because of injuries to key players such as Kevin de Bruyne.

"Everyone has been so important, don't ask me to choose."

He is then asked by Simon whether he thinks people like his team, which he responds to with a surprised expletive.
