Summary

  1. Kick-off - Second halfpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 21 September

Action is just kicking back off in a number games across the land.

With goals yet to be scored in three of the seven matches, and not much between anyone this afternoon, we can expect plenty of drama to come.

  2. Entertaining - if goalless - first half at Hawthornspublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 21 September

    West Brom 0-0 Plymouth

This has been a thoroughly entertaining stalemate - not a phrase you often hear!

Josh Maja should have made it six in six inside the opening two minutes, shooting wide, and Albion have hit the post three times!

Once from Karlan Grant cutting inside into the area and twice from the edge from Alex Mowatt and John Swift within a minute of each other. Even late on in the half Josh Maja should have bagged for the Baggies sliding wide with the goal at his mercy.

But hey, this has not all been the home side at The Hawthorns. Ryan Hardie should have also added to one he got last time out. He's been through on goal twice and headed wide. Ibrahim Cissoko has been electric on the left flank for Argyle and he's set up Morgan Whittaker who should have done better more than once with good chances.

The half drew to a close with the ball finally in the net, mind... Maja from a similar move to his previous one, with a cross from the riight but as he tapped in, the assistant's flag was rightly up. Offside and no goals at the break but not for the want of trying.

  3. 'Blades kept at bay'published at 15:53 British Summer Time 21 September

    Sheffield United 0-0 Derby County

    Adam Bolder
    Fomer Derby County midfielder

Derby will tire as they have worked hard but have played well.

In the transition we want to see a little more going forward but from a defensive point of view, going in 0-0 at Sheffield United is good, United kept at bay.

Substitutions could play a huge part.

  4. 'Leeds tearing Cardiff open'published at 15:51 British Summer Time 21 September

    Cardiff 0-1 Leeds

    Jon Newsome
Former Leeds defender on BBC Radio Leeds

Great football again from Leeds, we tear them open left to right just before half-time.

Ramazani hits the target but compared to the exquisite finish for the first one, that leaves you scratching your head.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 21 September

    Coventry 1-2 Swansea

Coventry don't manage to get that equaliser but not through a lack of trying as Swansea hold out.

The Swans may be two goals up thanks to Liam Cullen and Oli Cooper - though boss Luke Williams may want to thank the Sky Blues for gifting the latter - but they will need to have their wits about them when the second-half whistle blows.

Coventry are determined not to let that own goal from Ronald be the highlight of their night.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 21 September

    Cardiff 0-1 Leeds

When it rains it pours for bottom side Cardiff.

The bottom side had Joel Bagan sent off early on in this one and then saw Largie Ramazani fire the Whites into the lead.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 21 September

    Bristol City 0-1 Oxford United

Bristol City may have been dominant on the shot stats but it's Oxford who go into the break ahead.

The U's have only had two shots on target but Ruben Rodrigues made his count as he slotted one home to overturn the run of play and get his side in front.

Make no mistake though - the Robins are still in this. All to play for as the players head to the tunnel.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 21 September

    Burnley 0-1 Portsmouth

The away side are 45 minutes from their first league win of the season.

Burnley have had almost 70% of the ball but, like Pompey, have had just one shot on target.

Scott Parker will need a response from his side after the break.

  9. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 21 September

    Coventry 1-2 Swansea

OH MY! Coventry have some fire in them now.

Brandon Thomas-Asante's sharp shooting forces Lawrence Vigouroux into yet another save.

Norman Bassette keeps the pressure on but his strike hits the woodwork while Jack Rudoni's effort is cleared off the line by the busy goalkeeper.

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 21 September

    Luton 0-0 Sheff Wed

Nothing to separate these two on the scoreboard at the break but it is the visitors who have had the better openings.

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 21 September

    West Brom 0-0 Plymouth

This has got to rank as one of the most remarkable goalless halves ever seen in the Championship.

West Brom have hit the woodwork three times and had a goal disallowed for offside, while Plymouth have produced a few big moments of their own along the way.

  12. Postpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 21 September

    Cardiff 0-1 Leeds

Jak Alnwick comes up with a big stop to prevent Largie Ramazani getting his and Leeds' second of the day.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 21 September

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Derby

Both sides have hit the woodwork and both bosses have found their way into the referee's book with a yellow card.

What we haven't had, however, is a goal at Bramall Lane.

Still, there hasn't been any shortage of entertainment.

  14. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 21 September

    West Brom 0-0 Plymouth

West Brom have the ball in the back of the net!

Finally, you would think. But the flag is up for offside and Josh Maja's effort does not count.

  15. Postpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 21 September

    West Brom 0-0 Plymouth

How this game remains goalless is beyond me.

Within the space of a minute, Ibrahim Cissoko sends an effort into the side netting for Plymouth before Josh Maja fires wide for West Brom at the other end.

  16. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 21 September

    Bristol City 0-1 Oxford

This game has regained a bit more composure now as both sides have their chances.

Bristol City's Sinclair Armstrong gets the ball on his head to put in a pacey shot but it just drifts wide as Siriki Dembele's strike hits the bar to deny the visitors.

  17. Postpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 21 September

    Cardiff 0-1 Leeds

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

Cardiff were embarrassed by Leeds when they lost 3-0 here last season, and this has all the hallmarks of a similarly chastening afternoon for the Bluebirds.

They were getting outplayed before having Joel Bagan sent off and conceding the opening goal.

Things are already looking bleak for Erol Bulut and his players.

The Welsh side are bottom of the table with just one point from their opening five league games. Their worst start to a league season in 35 years.

  18. Postpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 21 September

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Derby

Gustavo Hamer has his eyes on the far corner of Derby's goal but not for the first time today, Jacob Widell Zetterstrom is equal to the Blades' threat and makes an important save.

  19. 'Lovely play'published at 15:44 British Summer Time 21 September

    Burnley 0-1 Porsmouth

    Guy Whittingham
Former Portsmouth manager on BBC Radio Solent

A tap-in from Callum Lang, at the back post, Turf Moor falls silent.

A good finish, lovely play, the centre-halves were caught on the six-yard box.

  20. goal

GOAL: Burnley 0-1 Portsmouthpublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 21 September

    Callum Lang (42 mins)

    Well now!

Portsmouth forward Callum Lang is there to score from close range and give the winless visitors the lead.

    Great time to go ahead.
