I'm hoping the Liverpool performance on Sunday was a blip after some celebrations, otherwise if they are on the beach already there are some easy points coming up in the CL race.

Colin: Re Mark in Oxford at 08:40 - why are CITY nailed on? Forest are three behind us and Villa four, but we have arguably a tough last two fixtures. And after our season, I wouldn't say we are nailed on just yet.

Chelsea have the toughest run-in. Even Manchester United at home is tough to call, especially as United will either be out of Europe or have a six-day gap before the final, so will field a strong team with players wanting to force their way into the Europa League final team. Forest vs Chelsea last game of the season is giving me Chelsea vs. Liverpool vibes from the 2003 season. The winner gets into the Champions League!

If Arsenal lose to Liverpool and Newcastle, could it be a case of squeaky bum time for Mikel Arteta on the last day of the season?

    Jonny, London

    Away to relegated Southampton, yes.

  10. How Arsenal could miss out on Champions Leaguepublished at 09:35 British Summer Time

Well Ben and Guy, we have been looking into this and can confirm that there is a set of circumstances where Arsenal could miss out on Champions League football next season.

Just to clarify, that would mean the Gunners falling from second place, where they currently are, to sixth in the Premier League table, and also failing to win this season's Champions League - more on that later.

With three league games remaining, this is how that scenario could pan out:

    • Arsenal lose to Liverpool, Newcastle and draw with Southampton - 68 points
    • Man City beat Southampton, Bournemouth and/or Fulham - 70-73 points
    • Newcastle lose to Chelsea but beat Arsenal and Everton - 69 points
    • Chelsea beat Newcastle and Man Utd, but lose to Nottm Forest - 69 points
    • Nottm Forest beat Leicester, West Ham & Chelsea - 70 points

There is a chance Arsenal get dragged into this if they lose away at Liverpool and still have Newcastle to come!

    Ben from Brisbane

With the way Arsenal are currently playing I can see them slipping to fifth very shortly. We’ve got Liverpool and Newcastle to play and I can’t see us getting any points from those matches. If this happens and we don’t get to the CL final then Arteta needs to go.

    Guy from Nottingham

    No pressure then Guy.

  12. How many teams could qualify for the Champions League?published at 09:31 British Summer Time

Just a reminder that, depending on how things pan out this season, there will be between eight and 11 teams from the Premier League taking part in Europe next season.

At least five of those will be in the Champions League because of England's improved performance in Uefa's coefficient rankings.

That number could rise to six should Arsenal win the Champions League and finish outside the top five - or even seven if that happens and Manchester United or Tottenham win the Europa League.

United and Spurs both stole a march on their opponents in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final ties, beating Athletic Bilbao 3-0 and Bodo/Glimt 3-1, respectively.

Right, before you make your own predictions, here is a heads up on the percentage chances Opta's Supercomputer has given each side in the top seven of the Premier League of finishing in each position.

As you will note, only Liverpool can finish first - the rest of the places are up for debate.

NB: Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton and Fulham - the sides from eighth to 11th - are being given a 0% chance of breaking into the top five so have not been included here.

Whatever happens from here on out, I've had the best season I've ever experienced as a Forest fan. Everyone had us going down, so to get to the FA Cup semi-final and even be in the conversation for a Champions League spot is amazing. I'm just enjoying the ride.

Rob Earnshaw may believe Champions League qualification is in Nottingham Forest's hands, but Opta's Supercomputer is favouring Chelsea's chances.

Opta has given Forest a 42% chance.

Chelsea, meanwhile, who are fifth and play Forest on the final day of the season, have a 68% chance of finishing in the top five, according to the data analysts.
