  3. 'It's not in our hands but it’s not finished'published at 17:12 British Summer Time 11 May

    FT: Nottingham Forest 2-2 Leicester

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo, speaking to Sky Sports: “Today is a tough day for everybody connected to the club.

“First half we conceded a goal but we were dominant. Second half we started better and deserved to get the advantage. Then it was a defensive mistake that allowed Leicester to get back in the game."

Felt comfortable at 2-1? “Yes. We were in control of the game, good defensive shape, organised."

On pressure getting to the players: “I honestly don’t know the reason. You can say because of anxiety or nerves but the players don't transmit that.

"[Champions League qualification] was in our hands, it’s no longer in our hands. But we out not playing well, we are not defending well and that is never good.

“I wish I could tell you why but our main focus as coaching staff is to find solutions. When we don’t it's so frustrating.”

On the owner coming onto the pitch: “It was due to the situation and the confusion over the substitution of [Taiwo Awoniyi]. We made a [different] sub and after that we played with one man less so that frustrates everyone. It's obvious.

“When a player is down, you get information that he is OK to continue, then we make a sub and it turns our he can’t continue. We are all frustrated with that.

“Football is emotions. It’s difficult to control. Especially when we had so such expectation and the fans were incredible.

“Let’s go again, it's not in our hands but it’s not finished.”

  4. 'Players fought for every inch to make the fans happy'published at 17:11 British Summer Time 11 May

    FT: Nottingham Forest 2-2 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It feels good. The performance itself, the way the players played and competed.

"We came back from 2-1 behind and had opportunity to win it. That’s credit to the players and their performance.

“We have a boy [Jeremy Monga] focusing on his GCSEs with a chance to win it on his left foot. Maybe when he can focus more on his football than his exams, that one goes in!"

On change of mindset: “We shifted the narrative since relegation was nearly completed at the Brighton game. There is a vision and what we’re working for in the future.

“We are thinking ahead and not waiting for the future to come next season. I’m happy that the players are reacting."

On motivation of stopping Forest: “We knew the importance of the game for our fans. We were totally aware. The players fought for every inch to make the fans happy.”

  5. 'The lack of of urgency is the most dangerous things in this club'published at 17:10 British Summer Time 11 May

FT: Man Utd 0-2 West Ham

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim to Sky Sports: "If you look at the goals that we suffer we can avoid these goals. The lack of energy, of urgency. That is the most dangerous things in this club. You can feel it at the beginning of the game. Between our box and opponent's box there is a lack of urgency. That is something we have to change in this club.

"I am responsible for that. It is frustrating because we are so near the goals. We have such a lack of urgency to protect our goal. This is week by week. We don't play so well in the Europa League but we have a different sense of urgency.

"It's something we need to work on. It's inside the pitch and outside the pitch. If we are not able to do we have to go away and give the space to different people. All of us.

"We are going to face a team from Premier League so we are going to struggle. Of course we are going to be more focused, and that is a concern because we have to be focused every game.

"For me it doesn't matter if we win the Europa League because the problems are much bigger than that."

On Leny Yoro's injury: "He had that problem at the beg of the season. We hope it's not too serious. I don't want to say too much but maybe it's not a big deal."

  6. Marianakis actions 'understandable'published at 17:08 British Summer Time 11 May

    FT: Nottingham Forest 2-2 Leicester

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: “Of course, it was a day that we put a lot of energy in to achieve the win. It's frustrated when you don't do it. It was our game to get.

“Easy to say, we need to be solid especially when we were controlling the game and being dominant. The goal was avoidable, we should have done much better. That’s the frustration we have.

“No matter what happened to Leicester, they have quality players and showed that today to make it hard to beat them."

“Honestly, I think we should have won this game today. It's a bad day today."

On the owner coming onto the pitch at full-time: “Football is emotions. Today there were more than 30,000 people in the ground with their own emotions. It was a tough moment, after the situation with [Taiwo Awoniyi] we had one man less after a misunderstanding.

"It's difficult to control emotions when we had so much expectation on a day like this."

Awoniyi situation the reason? “Yes, it was because of that. It was a misunderstanding, a miscommunication. I’m sorry, I cannot go much further.

“It’s based on emotions, you cannot make a big deal out of it. It happens and it will happen again. With the emotions today, it’s understandable.”

On fight for Champions League places: “We now have to react. We have two games left, it’s no longer in our hands but we have to find solutions for the team for those games."

  7. 'You can talk tactics but it's about desire and application'published at 17:06 British Summer Time 11 May

FT: Man Utd 0-2 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham manager Graham Potter to BBC Match of the Day: "Sometimes we talk about performances a lot as coaches, but results are nice. We've been in the middle of a really tough run. Today was great in that regard. The players executed things really well. Good intelligence. They showed all the things they needed to to win a football match. A great day for everyone involved with West Ham.

"You can talk tactics but it's about desire and application and sticking together. The player's attitude and commitment to what we're trying to do has been first class.

"We have the capacity. We just have to keep working."

For a long time 40 points was the benchmark for avoiding relegation. This season we could see a team finish on fewer than 40 points and still qualify for next seasons Champions League. Doesn't feel right.

  9. 'We are not scared of losing a game as Manchester United'published at 17:02 British Summer Time 11 May

FT: Man Utd 0-2 West Ham

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim to BBC Match of the Day: "I think it's quite similar to some games that we've had, especially at the end of this season. We have more chances than the opponent and then we suffer two goals that we can avoid. There's a lack of urgency when we're defending our box. There's a lack of urgency when we are near the box. We need to be more aggressive and we need to feel that it is the end of the world when we are not winning a game. Especially when we are not winning.

"So it's a big problem that we have here at the club. It's a decisive moment in the history of the club. We need to address that.

"It's a big problem because it's mentally. We are not scared of losing a game as Manchester United. We don't have that fear anymore and that is the most dangerous thing that a big club can have.

"I think it's a concern. It's not the players fault. It's my fault, I'm responsible. If we cannot change that really fast we should give our place to different persons.

"We need to perform in a better way. Of course it's not the best thing we are changing all the time. A lot of players are tired, we have to manage that. That is also a concern. We should be prepared to play in the middle of the week."

On Leny Yoro's injury: "We hope it's nothing serious. We will assess the player but I think it is a small thing.

"It's a good image of our moment. But again, we need to change things. Only us can change things. We are missing that feeling of urgency and it's something which is hard to explain.

"Everybody is focused on the final. The final is not the biggest thing in our football club. We need to change a lot of things. If we don't change the way we play and perform and feel this urgency of winning every game, we should not play in the Champions League. We should just stay in the Premier League and learn how to be competitive one week at a time.

"The biggest focus on our football club is to change a lot of things. It's not just the final."

  10. 'What the future will bring, I don't know'published at 17:00 British Summer Time 11 May

    FT: Nottingham Forest 2-2 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, speaking to Sky Sports: "That is a point away at Brighton, a good performance against Liverpool, we beat Southampton and now a point here.

"We know we are relegated but we want to show what we're about. We want to keep showing and not give up on ourselves. We had to move on and not wait until next season to start.

"The reaction of the away fans is clear and I'm happy."

On the improved recent form: "You can say there is no pressure and then we start to perform. It's possible but I think it's important after relegation we move on and keep improving.

"We want to give the fans positivty for the fans."

On change of approach: "It's shifted from fighting to staying in the league to the future and that shift you see results, performance and development.

"I'm happy with that but of course the relegation is still painful. It's clear what the plans are and I'm putting it into practice."

On his future: "It's my responsibility as manager of the football club to do what is best for the club whether my future is clear or not clear.

"What the future will bring, I don't know. We go day to day, week to week."

  11. 'Good preparation for the FA Cup final'published at 16:58 British Summer Time 11 May

    FT: Tottenham 0-2 Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, speaking to Sky Sports: "We had so many chances in the first half because of the high line, we expected this. We created so many situations and then you need those players in the box to score the goals. I'm really delighted with the performance, it's good preparation for the FA Cup final.

"It was 1-0 and we could have decided the game already. We had two disallowed goals and hit the post. It's to be efficient. I think the last 20 minutes we lost a bit of intensity. Tottenham had a big win three days ago and they couldn't compete with the energy. It was a really good day for us.

"This is always about our performance. We have them too many transitions and we lost the ball too many times. We knew when we switched the game quickly, we would always have one over on the far side. They had two or three very good chances at the end, this is too much I think.

On Eberechi Eze's form: "He's scored some amazing goals. Today's were two empty net goals. It's good to have him in the great shape. I could see many, many things. I think we will need to be better than today to beat Man City. It's good to have all our players in the best shape at crunch time.

If I was Nuno I’d say ‘see you later’ and hand him my resignation tonight. What Marinakis did was unforgivable. Has he not looked at current table and last years table. Nuno would get a bigger job easily

I feel compelled just to mention what the Forest owner has just done on the pitch over at the City Ground is absolutely scandalous, and if I was Nuno I'd be going and having a strong word with him because that is an absolute scandal.

He's just qualified for European competition and where that club's been, and to be remonstrated with on the pitch in front of their own fans is an absolute joke.

Easy to forget it was only three years ago that Forest were promoted after 23 years away from the top flight. They’re now guaranteed to play in Europe next season. In an age where most promoted teams are relegated straight back down, what they’ve achieved deserves enormous credit and respect from all football fans. Of course a shame to likely miss out on CL qualification but they’ll have a much more enjoyable run finding their feet in Conference or Europa first…

  15. 'We weren't good enough today'published at 16:54 British Summer Time 11 May

    FT: Tottenham 0-2 Crystal Palace

    Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We weren't good enough today. We didn't reach the level we needed in the Premier League and fell short. We were disjointed because of the number of changes to the team which obviously affects what we're trying to do. I still think we could have performed better.

"We haven't been able to navigate that process as much as we would have liked, we wouldn't have made as many changes in an ideal world but that's the situation we're in.

"It's quite clear why we've lost so many games. If we weren't in Europe or had a Carabao Cup run and only had the league to think about since Christmas then we'd be higher in the league."

I just thought I's remind myself of that afternoon in late November when Spurs beat Man City 4-0 at the Etihad just in case it wasn't a dream! In the 24 games since then Spurs have got 19 points!.. But beat United and the rest of the season will be forgotten!

  18. 'We can't just only focus on the Europa League final'published at 16:49 British Summer Time 11 May

FT: Man Utd 0-2 West Ham

    Manchester United

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes to Sky Sports: "We created a lot of chances but it's not enough. We have to put our chances into goals. Today was a frustrating because we couldn't do that.

"We need to be stronger and more eager to score goals and put balls into the box. If you create the chances you have to try and bury them in.

"It's difficult to explain. Everyone wants to score goals. It's not been our season to get the goals in. We have to improve in that. We have to be much better. And we have to be more aggressive.

"We had two games, we have one more game. We can't just only focus on the Europa League final. we have to put maximum effort on every game.

"Any points in the Premier League at this moment for us will be massive."

  19. 'We've secured Europa League, it's incredible but we wanted more'published at 16:47 British Summer Time 11 May

    FT: Nottingham Forest 2-2 Leicester

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White, speaking to Sky Sports: "We put ourselves in the best position possibly but these last three or four games haven't been good enough.

"We can't concede two goals like that, we can't. It's just frustrating."

Why the drop off? "It's been a tough season, very demanding especially when we've put ourselves in the positions we have. I can't put a reason on it. Fatigue? Tiredness? But we can't make excuses because the fans deserve better.

"We've secured Europa League, it's incredible but we wanted more.

"Our and our fans expectations were Champions League a few games ago. We've got two games to go and we have to turn it around.

"None of us have been in this situation before so we handled it well to start with but as it's got away from us, we haven't handled it so well. We're new to it but we still fighting and building as a team and a club."

On rest of the season: "We have to look at it in a positive way before realise the opportunity was there for us.

"It's tough when you're playing at the top, playing against the best but days like today we should be getting three points.

"It's frustrating but we continue to be positive and get as many points as possible."
