Summary

  1. 'Outstanding centre-forward play'published at 13:40 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Cardiff 1-0 Swansea

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio Wales

What a finish this is. This is a brilliant, brilliant bit of work and centre forward play by Robinson.

It's a great first touch to create the angle for the shot, it's bouncing in front of him, it's on his left foot it is at a tight angle, he fires it low in to that far corner.

Outstanding centre forward play, clinical finish.

  2. Postpublished at 13:40 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Cardiff 1-0 Swansea

That was some finish from Cardiff's leading scorer, who did not have much to aim it.

It's also his second derby goal this season, after his late equaliser at Swansea back in August.

  3. Postpublished at 13:39 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Millwall 0-0 Hull

Millwall are the joint-lowest scoring team in the Championship so far this season (24 goals). The joint-second least potent attack in the division? Hull City (25).

These two sides also drew 0-0 in the first league clash at the MKM Stadium back in August.

We're overdue a goal in this fixture then, right?

  4. 'Another unbelievable save from Grimshaw'published at 13:39 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Plymouth 0-0 QPR

    Katie Middleton
Ex-captain of Plymouth Ladies on BBC Radio Devon

It's another unbelievable save from Grimshaw to keep that out from Frey.

You've got to take your hat off to Grimshaw who's pretty much single-handedly keeping us in the game.

  5. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:38 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Plymouth 0-0 QPR

The hosts get forward again and Adam Randell smashes in a cross, which is deflected just behind off a QPR defender but the offside flag goes up.

QPR get up the other end and Daniel Grimshaw makes another fantastic save from Michael Frey, making himself big to make the stop.

Two big chances from Frey and really he should be taking at least one.

Cardiff strike right at the start of the second half!

Ollie Tanner sends the ball in from the left flank and Callum Robinson takes a fine first touch on his chest before wrapping his foot around the ball and finding the far corner of the net.

  7. Postpublished at 13:36 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

There are no changes from either side at half-time.

Luke Williams may have been tempted, but the Swansea boss keeps faith with his starting side for the moment.

  8. Postpublished at 13:36 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Plymouth 0-0 QPR

Good early move from Plymouth as Morgan Whittaker gets on the ball in the middles and plays in Ryan Hardie down the left to win the corner, which is dealt with by the visiting defence.

A bright start for the Pilgrims, similar to the first.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:34 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Plymouth 0-0 QPR

Half-time substitution for the hosts as Jordan Houghton comes on for Daniel Gyabi in what looks like a straight swap in midfield.

Away we go again in the second half of the three early games.

  11. 'There's not much to be scared of'published at 13:32 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    HT: Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

    Owain Tudur Jones
Former Swansea City and Wales midfielder on BBC Radio Cymru

It took halfway through the first half for Cardiff to realise they're playing a team that's in the middle of the Championship.

There's not much to be scared of.

You've got to get close to whoever's near you, stick a tackle in and let them know they're in a game.

I think in Robinson and Ashford, Cardiff have the two most dangerous-looking attackers today.

  12. 'Swansea need to up their tempo'published at 13:28 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    HT: Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

Predominately, Swansea have been in their own half - the Cardiff manager will certainly be happy with that performance.

Swansea need to up their tempo, this is what they do sometimes in the first 45 minutes, they do come out a better team in the second half.

  13. 'Riza will be the happier'published at 13:26 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    HT: Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio Wales

That is the conundrum when you play against Swansea, they like to dominate the ball you have to get your game plan right when you come up against them.

I think Cardiff's game plan has gone well, they've won a lot of balls in the midfield are and counter attacked well there's just not been enough end product.

Omer Riza will be the happier of the two managers going in at half time.

  14. 'Two teams struggling'published at 13:24 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    HT: Millwall 0-0 Hull

    Alex Burgess
    Commentator on BBC Radio Humberside

Millwall had a few opportunities in that first half, Hull suffer the blow of being without Lewie Coyle.

Other than that we're looking for a bit of heat in the cold of London.

We spoke about quality before the game, two teams struggling in the Championship and you can see that in the way the game has gone in that first half.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:21 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

Cardiff will be the happier side after a half which was short on quality.

It was an even contest for half an hour so, but the Bluebirds asked a few questions before the break.

  16. 'Darling has struggled'published at 13:20 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea City

    Andy Robinson
Former Swansea City winger on BBC Radio Wales

Harry Darling has struggled in this first 45 minutes for me. He's uncertain of where he should be on the football pitch.

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:20 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

Swansea captain Matt Grimes is booked for complaining after Eom Ji-Sung is not given a free-kick following a collision with Joe Ralls.

Grimes is probably frustrated about Swansea's inability to get going here, as much as the referee's decision.

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:20 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Millwall 0-0 Hull

Goalless at the break and chances have very much been at a premium.

A very scrappy affair in truth so far at The Den. Abu Kamara had perhaps the best chance of the game for Hull City but his shot from the right edge of the box was well saved by Millwall keeper Lukas Jensen.

Mihailo Ivanovic also had a low header kept out by Tigers stopper Carl Rushworth, but both those half-chances were in the opening stages and there hasn't been much else to shout about.

An injection of quality needed in the second 45.

  19. 'Argyle have been sloppy'published at 13:19 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    HT: Plymouth 0-0 QPR

    Katie Middleton
Ex-captain of Plymouth Ladies on BBC Radio Devon

I think Argyle have been sloppy in possession at times, neither side necessarily creating many opportunities, very transitional game so far.

Argyle not getting enough bodies forward for me, that could come from being used to playing five at the back.

When we win the ball back we don't have enough men forward to really create good chances.

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:16 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Plymouth 0-0 QPR

That's it for the first half and nothing between the two sides so far.

Michael Frey thought he'd given the visitors the lead at the end only to be thwarted by the diving save of Daniel Grimshaw, who has been the much busier of the two goalkeepers.
