  3. 'Foden has to play central'published at 12:29 British Summer Time 21 May

    Henry Winter
Football journalist on BBC Radio 5 Live

Phil Foden has to play central, he is the Premier League player of the season. He has been outstanding all season and one of England's two or three world-class players.

You have to play him in his best position. That means you play two 10s or drop Jude Bellingham slightly deeper and play him as an eight, running from deep.

  4. Foden is England's 'most technically gifted player'published at 12:25 British Summer Time 21 May

    Gary Neville
Former Manchester United defender on Sky Sports

We can't make the same mistake with Phil Foden as we did with Paul Scholes. I never thought this while I was playing for England and I used to see Paul Scholes go to the left hand side.

But looking back now it is a regret that we didn’t see the most technically gifted England footballer play in his best position.

Foden is the most technically gifted football player and we will regret it if we don’t play him in his best position. That means some difficult decisions have to be made.

Man City play a 4-1-4-1 formation. Rice behind and Bellingham and Foden in front. Shouldn't we take the chance and play this to get Foden and Bellingham as generational talents playing in their favoured position?

  6. McNulty Q&A - Phil Foden's positionpublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 21 May

Finlay, York: Hi Phil, how important is it that Foden plays in centre mid rather than on the wing, considering he has played there all season?

Hello, Finlay. This is going to be a really thorny problem for Gareth Southgate to solve because Phil Foden’s best position is clearly centrally but the team simply has to be, and will be, built around Jude Bellingham with Harry Kane as the central striker.

Does Southgate find a way to get Foden in alongside Bellingham in the centre or play him on the left with licence to roam and come inside? One thing is for sure, Foden has to be in the team. In the central position would be ideal but this would need some tactical tweaking by Gareth Southgate and at the moment Bellingham looks to be the perfect number 10.

"My career as an active footballer will end this summer after the Euro championship. As I have always said: Real Madrid is and will be my last club," Kroos wrote on his Instagram page.

“My ambition was always to finish my career at the peak of my performance level. From now on there is only one more leading thought: a por la 15!!”

It's fair to say Raheem Sterling hasn't hit the heights for Chelsea this season.

His last start for the club was an FA Cup win over Leicester in which he was booed by Chelsea supporters after a hitting a free-kick off target.

His start on the final day of the Premier League season was his first since March 11. He scored 10 goals in 43 appearances last season, including two strikes in his past three.
