Bournemouth

A final word from Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola on Saturday's opponents Wolves: "I think it is going to be a good game because they are in their best moment of the season. They come with the last four with no losses.

"They had a difficult start but they faced only top teams.

"We have to be ready for a very good team. This week we are facing three opponents - Wolves, Spurs, Ipswich. The three of them are now probably in a very good moment and a good run, so we will have to be also at that level."

More from Andoni Iraola on whether Bournemouth have a yellow card problem, with several players wracking up bookings: "No, I think there are some clubs with more yellow cards than us. But it is true, the way we play sometimes, when you press aggressively you risk arriving a little bit late and sometimes you have to accept the yellows.

"When those are the cases I have no issues, sometimes you have to take a yellow because it is a very dangerous situation.

"Dissent or touching the ball when you shouldn't, these types of yellows we should avoid."

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola's first question was on team news: "It will basically be the same players. We will have Antoine [Semenyo] out [he is suspended for picking up five yellow cards].

"The ones who were injured, they are long-term injuries...we have one or two players with very small things, but I hope they are available for tomorrow."

On Semenyo: "He was doing very good things and we are using this week for him [to unload] a bit. The break he had with the international break we focused it in a positive way and he can have a small break and then be ready again for a very demanding month of December."

It's amazing how much of a difference a week can make in football.

Before the match against Nottingham Forest last week, Arsenal were looking for their first win in five Premier League matches.

Seven days and the talk is all about how Mikel Arteta's side look back to their best and have the chance to build momentum in the title race.

They comfortably beat Forest before demolishing Sporting 5-1 away from home in the Champions League.

Arsenal enter the busy December period in good spirits and, depending on their progress in the Carabao Cup, are not scheduled to travel outside of the south of England for a match until late January, which can only help their preparation.

Ros Anderson, from podcast Hometown Glory, was asked on 5 Live Breakfast if Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou had any pressure on his job following their 2-2 draw with Roma: "I don’t think he’s that worried to be honest.

"An extra two games is not really what we need with the squad that we have but I think after the City result if anybody thinks that Ange is under pressure, I don’t really know what world they’re living in.

"With the way he wants to play is that they all have to be concentrating, they all have to be on it.

"We missed a lot of chances to put that game to bed last night and they weren’t more difficult chances that we had against City, it’s just about concentration."

While it certainly wasn't perfection from Tottenham in their 2-2 draw against Roma, manager Ange Postecoglou said he would rather his side provided excitement than grind out a 1-0 win.

Spurs twice took the lead against Claudio Ranieri's side but were twice pegged back.

"Why can't it just be entertaining mate?" said Postecoglou, when asked in his post-match news conference if it was now important to grind out wins to seal automatic progress into the Europa League last 16.

"Isn't that not why we all come? Would you really prefer us to sketch out a couple of nil-all draws and a 1-0 win and we get through?

"I would much rather we were exciting to watch. Maybe it is edge of the seat stuff and sometimes you don't get the reward, like we could have tonight, but if you want those kinds of games there are plenty in world football you can watch every weekend.

"I would like to think that if you tune into us you will get entertained."

When the Rangers line-up graphic dropped, eyes were drawn to Hamza Igamane's name.

Clement said he's been making "good steps" in training, which merited his start.

And given the Ibrox side's domestic strife doesn't seem to travel abroad, this turned out to be the perfect environment to set Igamane free.

Igamane stuttered at his first sight of goal, but he soon showed his endeavour and energy to get in and among the goals.

His power and precision set up Vaclav Cerny's opener, while his own razor-sharp instincts were applied to capitalise on comical Nice defending for the third.

For his second - and Rangers' fourth - he showed incredible confidence and composure to stretch, steal, nutmeg and slot home.

Former Rangers striker Steven Thompson called it a "wonderful goal" on Sportsound, adding "you've got to give Igamane so much credit. Unbelievable composure and accuracy from him".

If Manchester United's display provided room for improvement, Rangers' 4-1 win in Nice was close to perfection, according to manager Philippe Clement.

"It was close [to perfect]," Clement said. "If we would have scored more goals then it was really close to perfection.

"We still had really good chances we didn't finish but I saw a really impressive performance."

One of the worrying traits United developed under Erik ten Hag was conceding goals in close proximity to each other.

Bodo/Glimt responded to going a goal down in the first minute by scoring two of their own in a four-minute spell.

There was also something eerily familiar in the way the hosts started well, then gave a goal away from nothing.

When they lost the ball inside their own half, their defensive shape was non-existent, both wing-backs were too high up the pitch and the visitors swarmed the United box.

But for Amorim, relief came in the game not ending in the same familiar outcome as under Ten Hag.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim on winning his first match in charge at Old Trafford and the reception from fans: "Of course, I see what what everybody sees, good moments, difficult moments.

"There was some confusion in the end trying to hold the result, but the lads did a great job. They ran, they pressed, they tried to do the things we have worked on in the last three days and we won!

"Half of the stadium doesn't know me. I came from Portugal and I did nothing for this club. Yet, the way they make me feel at home is special.

"I will keep this to the end of my career."

More from Manchester United's two-goal hero Rasmus Hojlund, on recovering from 2-1 down: "It was a little bit of a bad start but we came back and showed character. We want to make sure these games don't get too exciting. But it's all about the three points."

On Ruben Amorim encouraging a high press: "He told me not to think too much about the guys behind me and just work on what I can see in front of me. We saw that with the first goal.

"Obviously it's going to take time [to adjust to his style] but we can already see some patterns. Now it's time for us to build. For me this system reminds me of how I played in a 3-4-3 at Atalanta. It suits me well."

Ruben Amorim said after the Ipswich game that Marcus Rashford was not suited to the job of the number nine.

Rasmus Hojlund's two goals and his performance in general against Bodo/Glimt was more encouraging, even if his manager told TNT Sports that the Denmark striker was "dead" through tiredness at the end.

Addressing his overall display in the main news conference, Amorim offered praise for the £72m signing from Atalanta, but also added a few demands.

"He has to improve more because sometimes he gives too many touches when he holds the ball, but he is very important when we are in a low block because he is the guy who connects in the transitions," said Amorim.

"For the goals he was aggressive in the box. He is a quality player, scores the most difficult goals and did a great job today."

New Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim celebrated victory on his Old Trafford debut thanks to a thrilling 3-2 Europa League triumph against Bodo/Glimt - but admitted to a sense of anxiety as his players try to understand his demands.

Amorim had two full training sessions with his entire squad before his first game at Ipswich on Sunday, and two more in the build-up to this European success.

He has already revealed his only way round the situation is to push those who don't start matches through full training sessions the day after. And Amorim is not sure how it will work.

"I get anxious because I don't know what will happen," he told TNT Sports. "We don't control anything at the moment.

"I don't know the players and we have not worked a lot together.

"We go to the game excited, but at the same time you are nervous because you don't know how the game will go.”
