FT: Hong Kong 1-3 Man Utd

That was a nice change for a Friday afternoon, wasn't it?

That is certainly not one to miss.

    We'll see you then.

  2. Man Utd end tour on a highpublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 30 May

FT: Hong Kong 1-3 Man Utd

Manchester United were booed off following a 1-0 loss to ASEAN All-Stars on Wednesday.

Head coach Ruben Amorim believed it would do his players good.

After a shaky start, and with jet lag well and truly out of their legs, it was a much-improved second-half performance in their second game of their Malaysia tour.

Three goals ended their tour on a high after they trailed Hong Kong 1-0 at half-time.

  3. June is a huge month for Man Utdpublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 30 May

FT: Hong Kong 1-3 Man Utd

As seen in the post below, Manchester United have no actual football in June but it'll still be a huge month for the club.

They have decisions to make in regards to players staying and players leaving.

Boss Ruben Amorim will also want any new signings in nice and early to bed them into the side.

I was very disappointed more youth players were not given a chance to show there capability during the latter stages of the season, Obi being the more frustrating. He wasn't able to play in the Europa League but should have been given a few more starts in front of Hojlund especially when Zirkzee was out. Reminds me of a young Rashford, hungry! Hope he keeps a level head unlike the aforementioned!

  6. Obi ready to fill number nine role?published at 15:04 British Summer Time 30 May

FT: Hong Kong 1-3 Man Utd

Chido Obi is still only 17 and showed his goal-scoring ability in tough conditions.

In a season where Rasmus Hojlund only scored four Premier League goals, could Obi be an option come the new campaign?

Many have questioned the point of this tour, unearthing a talent like Obi, who played 160 minutes of Premier League football this season, before they go into the transfer market might prove a blessing.

As an Arsenal fan, it stings to see 2 products of The Hale End academy score 3 goals for Man Utd.

That puts a more respectable slant on the scoreline.

Like Chido, Ayden Heaven arrived from Arsenal in mid-season and forced his way into first-team.

Ruben Amorim likes him. He definitely has a future at Old Trafford.

Chido Obi was brilliant when he came on in the second half. A real handful for the Hong Kong and he deserved his two goals.

And that Ayden Heaven finish was the final action of the game.

    The victory wrapped up.

Amad sends the ball into the box and there is Ayden Heaven with a powerful header.

Not sure what the goalkeeper was doing there but they all count.

Decent second half performance from Man Utd after trailing at the break.

Had far too much for Hong Kong, as you'd expect.

Chido will emerge from this trip with a slightly bigger profile but it will be interesting to see whether it gets him regular games for Manchester United next season.

With Matheus Cunha coming in and the hunt on for another striker now Liam Delap has turned United down, Chido may find opportunities hard to come by unless Rasmus Hojlund is sold.

At 17, he might be a bit too young for a loan to the Championship or even League One.

Plotting the future for young players is incredibly tough.
