Wilfried Gnonto runs down the left for Leeds, cuts in and plays it across to Jayden Bogle, who shoots over from 20ish yards out.

Kieran Trippier goes in for a 50-50 with Lukas Nmecha and the Leeds man comes off worse. Free-kick to the home team.

The second half begins.

Lewis Miley replaces Jacob Ramsey for Newcastle. Ramsey had to get some treatment midway through the first half but he'd played on.

There's going to be a half-time sub and it's a £40m summer signing coming off.

I didn't even know that was a stat but there we go.

Newcastle have not scored a first-half goal in their last five Premier League matches. Four have been 0-0 at the break.

Leeds have had seven shots in this first half but none on target - on Opta's records (from 2003-04), only once have they had more in a Premier League first half with none hitting the target (eight v Spurs in Feb 2022).

Both sides have had their efforts going forward. They've had decent spells of possession in each other's half.

William Osula, Jacob Ramsey and Jacob Ramsey have looked lively for Newcastle. Dan James looks lively.

Wolves

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira to BBC Match of the Day: "We could and should be better. We cannot commit these mistake because every time they punish us with a goal. We are offering goals. Our start in the game we must correct, mentally, and compete from the first minute.

"When we react in the game and we start to be more aggressive and compete, we equalise and after the mistakes comes a goal. Second half we start with another mistake, this is difficult. We need to work a lot, stablise the team after the market and try to be better next time.

"It is not only tactical things it is mentality things, in last game I start to see the mentality I want. In this game we only had in some periods, not 90 minutes. And it is difficult because we faced a strong team, they are stronger than last season."

On fans booing some of his substitutions: "If the game is not the way that I want. I must change because we need energy. I like my players but I am looking with my eyes and when I need more from them I make substitutions. It's my job."

On Jorgen Strand Larsen's future: "You need to bring more players not to sell players."

On whether he can add to his squad before the deadline: "I hope so. To compete in this league we need more options."

Manchester United and Chelsea have confirmed Alejandro Garnacho's move to the Blues. The winger was in the stands at Stamford Bridge earlier.

Garnacho said: "It’s an incredible moment for my family and I to join this great club. I can’t wait to get started. I watched the Club World Cup and to join the world champions is special – we’re the best team in the world! It’s amazing to be here and I’m very happy."
