    Leeds 0-0 Sunderland

Credit where it's due, the away side are getting through a lot of work out there to compete against a Leeds side who are unbeaten at home in the league this season.

The home side threaten for the first time as Georginio Rutter batters a shot wide of the target from miles out.

  2. 'QPR look the better side'published at 20:21 British Summer Time 9 April

    Plymouth 0-0 QPR

    Frank Nouble
Former Plymouth striker on BBC Radio Devon

QPR have looked the better side these last few minutes. They are pressing a bit higher.

They are inviting Argyle to go a bit longer and the balls haven't been as precise as they could have been.

  3. Postpublished at 20:21 British Summer Time 9 April

    Southampton 1-0 Coventry

Southampton have had a few chances to double their advantage.

Coventry goalkeeper Bradley Collins has denied Adam Armstrong, while Will Smallbone has had an effort ruled out for offside.

  4. Postpublished at 20:17 British Summer Time 9 April

    Millwall 0-0 Leicester

Leicester are dominating the ball, as they have done so often this season, but they have failed to really get going so far.

Credit to Millwall for disrupting the Foxes tempo.

This is not exactly a classic, right now.

  5. Postpublished at 20:17 British Summer Time 9 April

    Leeds 0-0 Sunderland

Former Leeds forward Jack Clarke is back on familiar territory tonight and he's almost on the scoresheet.

A deep cross finds the winger flying in at the back stick but there's just too much on the ball and he can't get his header on target.

  6. Postpublished at 20:14 British Summer Time 9 April

    Sheff Wed 0-2 Norwich

Wednesday could have climbed out for the relegation zone for the first time since August with a win tonight.

Still a long way to go in this but they're going to have to do something pretty special if they are to take the points on what is their 5,000th Football League game.

  7. Postpublished at 20:08 British Summer Time 9 April

    Preston 0-0 Huddersfield

Norwich's 2-0 lead at Sheffield Wednesday has done little for Preston's play-off chances.

The Lilywhites go close to an opener though as former Town man Duane Holmes sees a volley from a corner fly wide via a couple of deflections.

Holmes is then booked moments later for taking Ben Wiles out as the away side look to launch a counter-attack.

  8. Postpublished at 20:06 British Summer Time 9 April

    Leeds 0-0 Sunderland

Very little surprise at how this is playing out in the early minutes.

Leeds have virtually monopolised possession since the game kicked off three minutes ago.

The Whites are looking for a 10th straight home league success tonight.

  9. 'Thomas looking lively'published at 20:06 British Summer Time 9 April

    Preston 0-0 Huddersfield

    Sanny Rudravajhala
    BBC Radio 5 Live at

Well, it’s Huddersfield who’ve started brighter. They’ve taken the game to Preston and Sorba Thomas is looking lively and confident driving forward.

Duane Holmes has fluffed his only chance against the side he left in the summer. He’s blazed over with an early sighter.

    Kyle Walker-Peters (18 mins)

After the woodwork denied Coventry the opener from the penalty spot, Southampton now have the lead.

And it's a wonderful finish from Kyle Walker-Peters from outside the box that breaks the deadlock.

A lot of credit has to go to Jack Stephens for carving out the opening in the first instance.

Actually, in the end the goal might be credited to Che Adams after it took a deflection on the way in.

  11. 'Norwich have got too much for Sheffield'published at 20:04 British Summer Time 9 April

    Sheff Wed 0-2 Norwich

    Leigh Bromby
Former Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich defender on BBC Radio Norfolk

Norwich have exploited Sheffield Wednesday trying to play out from the back. Wednesday have just gifted them the ball; they haven't looked comfortable when they play out.

Norwich have got too much for them.

  12. Postpublished at 20:03 British Summer Time 9 April

    Southampton 0-0 Coventry

Coventry will undoubtedly be full of confidence after getting the better of Leeds on Saturday.

They are back on the road now and have been relishing their travels in recent months.

Since 23 December, no Championship side has won more away games in the competition than the Sky Blues. They have picked up six victories in that time, including each of their past two.

Southampton, on the other hand, have won just one of their past four league games at home.

Off and running in our final game of the evening.

Can Leeds bounce back from that Coventry defeat and go back into the top two?

  14. goal

GOAL: Sheff Wed 0-2 Norwichpublished at 20:02 British Summer Time 9 April

    Borja Sainz (16 mins)

The away side double their lead and it had been coming!

It's too easy for the sixth-placed side.

The Owls give the ball away cheaply in their own half and Marcelino Nunez slips Borja Sainz in on goal.

The Spaniard had a shot saved a few minutes ago but his eye's in now. 2-0.

  15. Postpublished at 20:00 British Summer Time 9 April

    Southampton 0-0 Coventry

Replays of the challenge that resulted in the penalty suggest it was a soft spot-kick to give away.

    Wright's miss is probably justice.

  16. Postpublished at 19:59 British Summer Time 9 April

    Sheff Wed 0-1 Norwich

Norwich have well and truly got their tails up here.

Borja Sainz nearly makes it 2-0 almost immediately but James Beadle in the Owls goal gets down sharply to keep it out.

  17. Can Whites get back on track against flagging Black Cats?published at 19:58 British Summer Time 9 April

    Leeds v Sunderland (20:00 BST)

Leeds players warm upImage source, Rex Features

Leeds fell to their first league defeat in 2024 with a 2-1 reverse at play-off chasing Coventry on Saturday.

Their form at Elland Road is imperious however and a win tonight would not only lift them back into the top two but see them record 10 home league victories in a row.

On paper it seems unlikely tonight's visitors Sunderland will pose the toughest of challenges.

The Black Cats, who beat Leeds at home in December, are limping over the finish line and have just won just one of their past 10 games.

  18. PENALTY MISSED: Coventrypublished at 19:57 British Summer Time 9 April

    Southampton 0-0 Coventry

It's a disaster for Haji Wright.

He slips with his last step as he swings his boot. The shot is high and clatters off the bar.

  19. goal

GOAL: Sheff Wed 0-1 Norwichpublished at 19:57 British Summer Time 9 April

    Josh Sargent (11 mins)

    The play-off chasers lead!

The away side had just had a couple of decent chances through Marcelino Nunez and Ashley Barnes but Josh Sargent makes no such mistake.

The in-form forward finishes smartly after Barnes flicks on a long throw into the area.

Wednesday's 5,000th Football League game not going to plan.

  20. PENALTY: Coventrypublished at 19:55 British Summer Time 9 April

    Southampton 0-0 Coventry

Southampton's Flynn Downes concedes a penalty for his challenge on Joel Latibeaudiere.

The Sky Blues have the chance go ahead from the penalty spot.

Saints players are not happy about the decision...
