There is a real sense of anticipation here at Home Park tonight.

It is the first game at home for Plymouth Argyle since Ian Foster was sacked as head coach after a run of eight losses in 11 games.

Interim bosses Neil Dewsnip and Kevin Nancekivell led Argyle to a win over fellow strugglers Rotherham united on Friday - a win here today against QPR would further ease their fears over an immediate return to League One.

Leicester City returned to the Championship summit on Saturday and you just get the feeling they have their automatic promotion bid back on track.

A dramatic late goal from Stephy Mavididi against Birmingham earned the Foxes back-to-back league wins for the first time since early February.

Both, however, came at the King Power Stadium.

Tonight Leicester are back on the road and looking for their first win in four away from home.

They have already beaten Millwall twice this season - each being 3-2 victories - and their last win against the Lions was in the FA Cup at The Den in early January.

Millwall, who have lost three in a four-game winless run, will be looking to upstage the Foxes in an effort to boost their survival hopes.

If the Lions lose and results go against them elsewhere, Millwall could find themselves in the bottom three tonight.

Preston's slim hopes of sneaking into the play-offs were dealt a further blow by Saturday's uneventful 0-0 draw at Watford.

The Lilywhites play four of the top six in their five games after tonight's game against relegation-threatened Huddersfield so a win tonight will be pivotal both for momentum and morale.

The Terriers left it very late to snatch an injury-time winner against Millwall on Saturday.

Draws have been Town's Achilles heel this season. The West Yorkshire side's 16 defeats is the same as eighth-placed Middlesbrough but just nine wins is the division's second lowest tally ahead of relegated Rotherham.

Stuttered recent form has seen Southampton all but stumble out of the automatic promotion race.

While a top two finish now seems unlikely, there is always the play-offs.

Even a place in the top six is not assured yet, but victory against play-off chasing Coventry just about gets them there.

For the seventh-placed Sky Blues, they remain in 'must win' territory as they try keep touch with the top six.

And they did exactly that by upstaging automatic promotion hopefuls Leeds on Saturday.

Depending on how Millwall and Huddersfield do this evening a win for Sheffield Wednesday today could see them end the day outside the relegation zone for the first time since August.

The Owls picked up a vital 2-0 away win at QPR to give their survival hopes a real shot in the arm after four games without a win.

Boss Danny Rohl will hope they can make it successive wins on what is their 5,000th league fixture.

Tonight's opponents also picked up a hugely significant three points at the weekend.

Norwich saw off bitter rivals Ipswich at Carrow Road to strengthen their grip on sixth spot and dent the Blues' promotion hopes.

That was an eighth straight win in front of their own fans but their away form is far scratchier, with just five victories in 20 away games so far this season.

For Plymouth and QPR, a win tonight goes a long way towards potential Championship survival.

Plymouth are three places and two points above the bottom three, while QPR are just two spots and two points better off.

Plymouth ended a six-game winless run on Friday with a victory against Rotherham which sealed the Millers' relegation.

For QPR, this is their second huge showdown with a relegation rival in three days, having been beaten by 2-0 by Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
