The fact Richarlison scored [the penalty] is great and that is difference between winning the game but I don't know, it is a bit unprofessional [to take it off designated penalty taker, James Maddison].

If he's taken off or he's injured then there might be a scenario where you leave it to the players, but it only works out if you score.

The good old Man Utd supporters wanting another manager out. Not one of them has said who is best to come in? I'm assuming just another great manager to throw under the bus. Man Utd are the new Chelsea of the managerial world.

  5. 'I'm just getting started'published at 22:15 British Summer Time 24 October

    FT: Tottenham 1-0 AZ Alkmaar

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall speaking to TNT Sports: "The whole team made a good performance and me as well.

"I'm really happy to have these chances at 18-years-old, coming from the Swedish league is a big change.

"The guys have been so good to me. Now I am just getting started. Getting used to it and I just need to keep going."

  6. 'Mourinho is box office'published at 22:13 British Summer Time 24 October

    FT: Fenerbahce 1-1 Man Utd

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

    On Jose Mourinho's sending off...

The contentious penalty decision, that was nowhere near contentious - the referee got it right.

The box office, the drama, it erupted on the bench and Jose Mourinho is box office.

It will be interesting to see who does the post-match presser for Fenerbahce.

  7. 'The game was there for the taking'published at 22:10 British Summer Time 24 October

Man Utd kept the ball well and Erik ten Hag made some changes which worked well.

If they look back over that game, with the hostile environment they will be a bit disappointed as the game was there for the taking.

If it had been a boxing match then Manchester United would have won on points.

  8. Postpublished at 22:08 British Summer Time 24 October

    FT: Rangers 4-0 FCSB

    Ally McCoist
Former Rangers striker on TNT Sports

Rangers needed a pick me up after the result at Kilmarnock and I felt they got it tonight.

They stepped on it and they were in total control and some excellent goals and I thought some wonderful individual performances too.

A good night at the office.

TNS goalscorer Rory Holden speaking to TNT Sports: "Amazing. What dreams are made of. It's a dream we've had for a long time. We've been working our socks off for the last five months and I think it's nothing less than we deserve.

"I'm not sure it was a penalty [in the first half] but we've won 2-0 though so we're happy enough.

"We take each game as it comes and hopefully get more points on the board."

Declan McManus speaking to TNT Sports: "I had umpteen chances that I would normally take so I was getting to the point where I thought it wouldn't happen. Luckily I know I'm the penalty taker so if we got one I'd get my chance.

"We were always going to come under siege a bit. They had a lot of possession and chances for a spell but for the most part we were phenomenal defensively and attacking wise."

  10. Postpublished at 22:06 British Summer Time 24 October

    What a night for TNS.

Try telling the Welsh minnows the Europa Conference League doesn't matter.

  11. 'United deserve the point'published at 22:06 British Summer Time 24 October

    FT: Fenerbahce 1-1 Man Utd

    Robbie Savage
FA Youth Cup winner with Manchester United on TNT Sports

I think on the balance of play, in that first half, Fenerbahce were the better side, but Manchester United scored a great goal on the counter attack.

Fenerbahce could have gone into half-time level. They've come out, scored a goal, but they've not created that much in the second half.

Jose will be happy, I think, especially being 1-0 down.

Ugarte's clearance was fantastic but overall I think Manchester United deserve the point.

  12. 'I thought we had Neymar on the wing'published at 22:05 British Summer Time 24 October

    FT: Tottenham 1-0 AZ Alkmaar

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham captain James Maddison speaking to TNT Sports: "Another one ticked off. That's three in three, nine points puts us in a very good position."

On letting Richarlison take the penalty: "Initially we both wanted to take it. I'm a senior player, I was captain today, I was going to take it, but I thought Richarlison has come back from an injury, it's difficult for a striker - a first goal gives confidence.

"It was a split second decision to let him take it. [It's] leadership, obviously I wore the armband but even if I wasn't the captain I would still like to think I would make a decision that is best for the team. Hopefully that gives him a big boost."

On Mikey Moore's performance: "I thought we had Neymar on the left wing! He is fearless, [he has] that young, fearless mentality.

"He's a brilliant lad, he has bags of ability. I will hopefully help him with wise words but he has all the ability and well done to him."

  13. 'Ten Hag can take a lot of positives from tonight'published at 22:03 British Summer Time 24 October

    FT: Fenerbahce 1-1 Man Utd

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

It was a fantastic game to watch. Erik ten Hag has a depleted squad, but his team have come out here tonight and shown attitude.

He can take a lot of positives from tonight.

This inconsistent run of form is both baffling and embarrassing. Sorry, but no wins in three Europa games and sitting mid table in the Premier League with no identity, no consistency and no excitement - time is up. Ten Hag out!

    Shane

Poor, poor, poor Man Utd. Amad should have been on from the start.

  15. 'They're in a terrible position'published at 22:01 British Summer Time 24 October

    FT: Fenerbahce 1-1 Man Utd

    Paul Scholes
Former Manchester United midfielder on TNT Sports

I thought the last half an hour from both teams was really poor. A draw, you'd probably take it before the game.

The two results you have to say: Porto away, tough place to go, good draw. Fenerbahce away, good draw. It's the home game that was really disappointing, the Twente game, you should be beating those teams.

They're in a terrible position in that Europa League, they've got to start winning games soon.

  16. 'Terrible position'published at 22:00 British Summer Time 24 October

    FT: Fenerbahce 1-1 Man Utd

Paul Scholes tells TNT Sports that Manchester United are in a "terrible position" in the Europa League.

"They need to start winning games soon," he adds.

Erik ten Hag and his players have walked over to where Manchester United's travelling fans are gathered to show their appreciation.

Is a draw away to Fenerbahce a decent result?

United will go into November seeking a first win of the season in Europe.

  19. History-makers once againpublished at 21:56 British Summer Time 24 October

    FT: TNS 2-0 Astana

    Chris Wathan
BBC Sport Wales at New Meadow

Just reaching this stage was huge for The New Saints, as well as the league they represent.

The first team from the Welsh domestic system to reach a group stage of European competition, and now a first win.

They were good for it too, with some lovely attractive football along the way. I wouldn't bet against more than the 2,000 or so that were here tonight turning up for the game with Djurgarden here next month.

There's a trip to Shamrock Rovers up next but it's clear they fancy their chances.

They're used to making history at Park Hall - they've had world record winning runs in the past - but it was always difficult to judge what it really meant. Now they're genuinely competing on a European stage and truly flying the flag.

    Dancing on the streets, indeed.
