My stepson has dual citizenship. As a Turkish citizen he’s always supported Fenerbahce. As a British citizen, he supports Liverpool. Right now he’s hoping more than most for a Fener win !

    Phil in Reading

United in front and the fans still criticise Ten Hag. Very telling - both manager and club should mutually accept the inevitability that it simply can't end well and move on.

  2. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:50 British Summer Time 24 October

    TNS 1-0 Astana

What a first half for TNS. Already an historic night for the Welsh side and now they have the lead at the break.

Can they hold on for more history?

  3. 'Frustration creeping in for Fenerbahce'published at 20:50 British Summer Time 24 October

    HT: Fenerbahce 0-1 Man Utd

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

You can see frustration creeping in for Fenerbahce.

They have had the lions share of possession, but they have not really created that many opportunities.

Manchester United have played good away counter-attacking football.

    Tottenham 0-0 AZ Alkmaar

AZ will be most pleased with how this is playing out so far.

There's barely any space between the visitors' defence and midfield and they're suffocating the spaces very effectively as Spurs continue to dominate possession without really threatening as the final uneventful minutes of the half are played out.

A highly impressive European away performance. But...will they finish the job?

  6. Postpublished at 20:48 British Summer Time 24 October

    TNS 1-0 Astana

Former Swansea midfielder on TNT Sports

    Goalkeepers get away with murder.

It's goalkeepers that will be at home saying 'oh no that's not a penalty'.

    I'm sorry, you're all wrong.

  7. Postpublished at 20:48 British Summer Time 24 October

    TNS 1-0 Astana

It's been frantic for the last 10 minutes. TNS are searching for another before half time.

They have a corner and Declan McManus hits it on the volley but he can't get it down.

  8. Postpublished at 20:47 British Summer Time 24 October

    Tottenham 0-0 AZ Alkmaar

Tottenham again come forward at speed as Timo Werner sets Destiny Udogie away down the left but AZ reorganise quickly, defending with all but one man inside the penalty area. Still no way through.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:46 British Summer Time 24 October

    TNS 1-0 Astana

TNS manager Craig Harrison has gone into the book for his protestations after that.

He is absolutely livid. It looked like a penalty to me. Alexandr Zarutskiy absolutely clattered into Rory Holden.

  10. Postpublished at 20:45 British Summer Time 24 October

    Fenerbahce 0-1 Man Utd

Andre Onana has come in for plenty of stick wearing a Manchester United shirt. If his side go on and win this, Onana deserves to be lavished with praise for those two saves.

  11. Postpublished at 20:44 British Summer Time 24 October

    TNS 1-0 Astana

    Owain Tudur Jones
Former Swansea midfielder on TNT Sports

Absolute perfection. It's all about that switch.

Holden, his run was perfect, nobody near enough to put him under any pressure.

Hit the target, that's exactly what he did.

    Brilliant.

  12. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:44 British Summer Time 24 October

    TNS 1-0 Astana

TNS are in for a second here but Rory Holden's effort is cleared off the line by Beysebekov.

Hang on, the TNS players are fuming, they think they should have a penalty.

While that ball was being cleared off the line the Astana goalkeeper came right out and clattered into Holden. It looks like a penalty but the referee is having none of it!

  13. Postpublished at 20:43 British Summer Time 24 October

    Tottenham 0-0 AZ Alkmaar

Fraser Forster to the rescue again for Spurs!

AZ threaten on the counter again and substitute Denso Kasius is racing after a ball forward, but Forster is quick off the mark and manages to get there first with a sliding tackle. He absolutely had to get that right. Great goalkeeping.

  14. Man Utd living on the edgepublished at 20:43 British Summer Time 24 October

    Fenerbahce 0-1 Man Utd

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter in Istanbul

Manchester United are in a precarious position.

They are a brilliant Manuel Ugarte block and two superb reaction saves from Andre Onana away from conceding an equaliser.

It is vital the visitors stay strong. If the home side score, this place will erupt.

That double save from Onana is absolutely world class, best you'll see all season.

    Mike, Liverpool

2 incredible saves there from Onana, looks like he is finally settling into the team and finding his feet.

    Jake, Derby

Oh my word, that was one of the best double saves I've ever seen!

We are seeing some BIG individual Manchester United performances in Istanbul.

    Manuel Ugarte, Andre Onana.

And we also need to talk much more about Christian Eriksen's outstanding finish.

That is incredible from Andre Onana. Low down to his right-hand-side, Gordon Banks like. He gets up off the floor and tips it over the bar.

    Jose Mourinho cannot believe it!

The reactions there, this one is brilliant but then to get up and then short notice, that's a brilliant save, magnificent.

    Jose can't believe it.

    What a double save!

    Take a bow, Andre Onana!

Two outstanding reflex saves in double-quick time to keep out Youssef En-Nesyri.

Onana is mobbed by his team-mates.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has his head in his hands on the touchline.

  20. Postpublished at 20:40 British Summer Time 24 October

    Tottenham 0-0 AZ Alkmaar

Timo Werner is in again but again the finish isn't there, although this is a far more difficult chance than his first.

Richarlison wins possession and plays in his team-mate, who takes the shot on first time but fires high and wide.
