  1. Morecambe bring in Nuttall and Campbellpublished at 11:34 BST 23 August

    Morecambe have completed the signings of striker Joe Nuttall and midfielder Ma'kel Campbell, taking the number of new arrivals to 12.

    The flurry of signings follows the Panjab Warriors completing their takeover of the National League club last Sunday.

    Nuttall, 28, joins the Shrimps after leaving Oldham Athletic. He spent last season on loan at Altrincham, making 26 appearances.

    Campbell, 19, started his career in Fulham's academy and has also played for Peterborough's under-21s.

    He was coached by Morecambe boss Ashvir Singh Johal during his spell at Craven Cottage.

  2. Morecambe bring in Ogwuru and Muskwe to take signings to 10published at 23:16 BST 22 August

    Morecambe have made forwards Daniel Ogwuru and Admiral Muskwe their ninth and 10th signings of the week.

    Ogwuru, 20, spent time in the academies of Manchester City and Norwich City.

    He had a loan spell with National League North side Buxton last season, scoring once in five appearances.

    Zimbabwe international Muskwe, 27, arrives with a wealth of experience of English football, having had spells at Leicester, Wycombe, Luton and Fleetwood.

    The Shrimps will play their first game of the season against Altrincham on Saturday after being suspended for the first three games of the season.

    Ryan East has agreed a new Rochdale deal

    Midfielder Ryan East has committed his future to Rochdale by agreeing a new two-year contract.

    East's old deal was due to expire next summer but has committed to the club until at least 2027.

    East, 27, initially joined the National League side on loan from Bradford two years ago before making the move permanent in December 2023.

    He told the club's website: "It's my third season here now. It's a building project that I want to be a part of.

    "There's loads of positivity around the place now and hopefully that continues."

  4. Morecambe sign five more players before season bowpublished at 09:34 BST 22 August

    New Morecambe boss Ashvir Singh Johal has added five more players to his squad with the signings of goalkeeper Archie Mair, defenders Ben Williams, Ludwig Francilette and Alie Sesay and midfielder Jake Cain.

    Mair, 24, who began his career with Norwich City, returns to the club where he had a loan spell in 2024.

    Left-back Williams, 26, previously had spells at Cheltenham Town and Barnsley, while centre-half Francilette, 26, spent time with Newcastle United and Crawley Town.

    Sesay, 31, who came through Leicester's academy and previously had a season at Barnet, returns to English football after eight years away during which time he has played for clubs in Sweden, Greece, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Vietnam.

    Cain, 23, who started his career with Liverpool and made one senior appearance for the Reds, played 25 times for League Two Swindon last season.

    All five players could make their debut for the Shrimps when they play their first game of the season against Altrincham on Saturday.

    At the start of this week, the BBC understood Morecambe had just five players under contract, but the club has subsequently announced the arrival of seven new players so far.

  5. Tomlin joins Morecambe as assistant amid signingspublished at 23:01 BST 20 August

    Morecambe have appointed former Peterborough United and Middlesbrough midfielder Lee Tomlin as assistant to new boss Ashvir Singh Johal.

    The 36-year-old joins having previously worked as a coach at Leicester City and Sheffield United.

    "Lee is someone I have known for a very long time. I knew that when I became a manager Lee was the person I wanted to be my assistant manager," Johal told the club website, external.

    "He is someone that I can trust to take us to the next level so I'm really looking forward to working with him and I think he is someone that will add real value to our team."

    Morecambe confirmed earlier on Wednesday that their game against Altrincham at the weekend will go ahead as planned following their takeover by Panjab Warriors.

    The club have made two signings ahead of their opening game of the season with former Barrow forward Harrison Panayiotou, external and former Accrington Stanley midfielder Mo Sangare, external joining the club.

  6. Braintree sign ex-Millwall defender Smithpublished at 18:54 BST 20 August

    Braintree have signed defender Kyle Smith on a free transfer following the player's departure from Millwall.

    Smith, 21, did not make a first-team appearance in his only senior season with the Lions but was in the matchday squad on four occasions in the Championship last term.

    He did play 13 times in the National League for Wealdstone in 2023-24.

  7. Eastleigh sign Massiah-Edwards on short loanpublished at 18:47 BST 20 August

    Eastleigh have signed teenage forward Zavier Massiah-Edwards on a month-long loan from Watford.

    The 18-year-old has come through Watford's academy and has made five Championship appearances for the Hornets.

  8. Yeovil re-sign Vale midfielder Plant on loanpublished at 18:13 BST 20 August

    Yeovil have re-signed midfielder James Plant on loan until January from Port Vale.

    The 20-year-old played 13 games and scored two goals during a spell with the Glovers last season.
