    Boston United have signed full-back Marcel Lavinier on a permanent deal after a successful trial period with the club.

    The 24-year-old former Yeovil Town, Forest Green and Swindon defender, who was on the books at Tottenham and Chelsea earlier in his career, has already featured for Boston in the FA Cup and National League Cup "on non-contract forms".

    He has been brought in by the National League side after right-back Jordan Cropper was ruled out injured "for the foreseeable future".

    Brackley Town have agreed a deal to sign Shrewsbury Town striker Callum Stewart on loan until January.

    Stewart, 23, has played eight times for Salop this season, including five in League Two after joining from National League North side Leamington at the start of the year.

    He scored his first goal for Town in a 2-1 defeat by Swindon in August but has not featured for Michael Appleton's first team since mid September.

    "This is a really good opportunity for Callum to get games and score goals at a very good level.

    "It's a step down from where he is right now, but it's also a step up from where he was scoring plenty of goals before at Leamington.

    Early National League leaders Rochdale have signed Barnsley goalkeeper Jackson Smith on a short-term loan.

    The 23-year-old joined the Tykes from Walsall in the summer of 2024 but has only made six appearances and spent part of last season on loan at Grimsby Town.

    "All the conversations have been positive, what the gaffer wants to see from me, and it's down to myself to go out and do that," Smith said.

    Rochdale are at home to York City in the final qualifying round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

    Gateshead have signed Leicester City forward Kian Pennant on a one-month loan deal.

    The 21-year-old has been a regular in the Foxes' age-group sides and has played in the EFL Trophy, but this is the first loan move of his career.

    The Heed have also signed Cheltenham Town defender Ibrahim Bakare on a loan deal running until early January 2026.

    Bakare has made 35 senior appearances for Cheltenham since joining in the summer of 2024.

    Morecambe have signed experienced goalkeeper Jamal Blackman on an initial deal until January.

    Blackman, 32, was a free agent having left Shrewsbury Town at the end of last season.

    A former Chelsea youth team player, he has represented eight different clubs in the EFL and also had spells in Sweden, the Netherlands and USA.

  6. Woking sign forward Boatswain on loanpublished at 18:33 BST 9 October

    Woking have signed forward Ashley Boatswain on loan from Ipswich Town until January to provide more cover following injuries to Sam Ashford and Aiden O'Brien.

    The 20-year-old came through the Championship club's academy and spent part of last season on loan at AFC Fylde, making 18 appearances.

  7. Gateshead midfielder Pani out for season published at 14:26 BST 7 October

    Gateshead midfielder Connor Pani will miss the rest of the National League season with a ruptured Achilles tendon.

    Pani, 22, who has played in all bar one of their league games so far, picked up the injury in Gateshead's home defeat by Boston United on Saturday.
