Oscar Piastri goes from seventh to second place, Carlos Sainz gains one spot to finish third, Lewis Hamilton comes home in fourth and Max Verstappen crosses the line in fifth after that collision with rival Lando Norris.

It's got to be incredibly special, the amount of times he's [Russell] sat watching people take victories here.

This is a real turnaround for the Mercedes team and for George Russell, he is the last driver who has won for Mercedes in Brazil 2022.

George Russell only has to hold on for a few minutes now to secure his first race victory of the 2024 season. The Mercedes takes the final corner and crosses the line...

I think Piastri needs more laps in this race, he's gaining tenths all the time but whether it's going to be quite enough.

The history books will tell us that George Russell has had a few dicey moments at the end of races when he has been handed the advantage, but this day looks to be heading the Mercedes driver's way.

Max Verstappen is carrying that 10-second penalty now and is running in fifth place as we edge closer to the end of this dramatic race.

He [Russell] has done better than I expected getting those hard tyres back up to temperature.

George Russell, your moment to shine is now. The Mercedes is 2.6 seconds ahead of the McLaren of Oscar Piastri with Carlos Sainz's Ferrari in third.

This is fascinating to see how this is all going to play out.

I have to say it looked like it was Verstappen who was really pushing the limits there and closing Norris up to the edge of the track, but we will see what the stewards say.
