Alonso is also walking down the pit-lane like his game is over.

This is going to be a scrum to the line.

As red flag conditions remain, just a few spots of rain look likely. Nothing significant.

Verstappen is out of the car, he's in third place behind the two McLarens. This feels like an opportunity to try and improve on that but he's taken his helmet off and looks like he's not going to get back in by the look of it.

Max Verstappen is out of the car. The Dutchman is not going to be heading back out when - or if - this red flag is lifted.

Verstappen crossing the line on his last flier and then slamming the steering wheel, not happy at all. He is frustrated and he is now getting out of the car.

Cars are queuing at the end of the pit lane to try and get a lap in. The session is, we think, going to restart, but the jostle for position is already being discussed over the various team radios.

We could well get this top three and the order of this top ten shuffled up with just two minutes left on the clock.

The medical car is on the scene to take Yuki Tsunoda for a check-up. There are just over two minutes left on the clock in this Q3 session. The left side of Tsunoda's car took the full force of that impact.

As it stands, Lando Norris is on pole, Oscar Piastri is second, Max Verstappen is third and Carlos Sainz sits in fourth spot.

The clock has stopped which means there is time for another run, everybody can get back to the pits, they can then do one out lap just in time to cross the line with fresh tyres on, you will get one more shot of a flying lap here.

A big shunt for the RB for Yuki Tsunoda on the exit of Turn Six.

  14. red flag

The RB driver is climbing out of the car and is OK. He went wide out of Turn Five and took too much kerb, which pushed him onto the grass and into the advertising hoardings.

Yuki Tsunoda has crashed in the RB!

The big question is going to be, the little drizzle that is falling now, is that enough to compromise lap time, or is there still enough temperate in the track and enough grip to improve what we've seen so far.

  17. Postpublished at 16:09 British Summer Time 20 July

Oscar Piastri has improved his time to go up into second place on the front row with his team-mate Lando Norris. Lewis Hamilton jumped to fourth but is back down to fifth after Carlos Sainz swipes his spot.

Fans are putting their ponchos, so cars are getting out quickly before the rain comes to try and improve their position on the grid. Lando Norris is the car on top with a 1:15.227. His team-mate Oscar Piastri is first up to have a go.

  20. 'He absolutely nails it when it matters'published at 16:05 British Summer Time 20 July

That is what Max Verstappen does, he turns it on when it matters, when the pressure is really on, that is when he delivers. He doesn't make the mistakes his team-mate consistently makes, he absolutely nails it when it matters.
