    Carlos Sainz is moving up the order with ease now on his fresh hard tyres. His next target is the RB of Yuki Tsunoda and it's easy pickings for the smooth operator as he slots into P6.

    Where Sainz was looking like the stronger one of the two Ferrari drivers this weekend, now at this point of the race at least, it looks like Leclerc is in the prime seat of those two.

    Fernando Alonso has dropped to 12th place in his Aston Martin and is trying to catch Nico Hulkenberg's Haas for P11. The Spaniard is inching closer but the German is staying ahead.

    The other Mercedes of George Russell, meanwhile, is in eighth place and has just been overtaken by Carlos Sainz for P7.

    Ferrari get on the blower to Charles Leclerc to come into the pits from the lead. The Monegasque driver is another hard runner and heads back into the action ahead of Yuki Tsunoda in fifth place.

    Max Verstappen is the fastest car on track at the moment in his Red Bull in fourth spot.

    Charles Leclerc becomes the de facto leader of the Hungarian Grand Prix on his 22-lap old medium tyres. Oscar Piastri is holding firm in second with McLaren team-mate Lando Norris in third spot.

    Lewis Hamilton, meanwhile, is just keeping everyone on their toes in P4...

    Max Verstappen is into the pits and it's a three-second stop. Carlos Sainz also comes in for a changeover at Ferrari.

    Both drivers are placed on the hard tyre and Verstappen comes out in fifth place and Spaniard Sainz is in P9.

    It's a great stop for Oscar Piastri by McLaren and the race leader is back out with new rubber, the hard variety, in fourth place ahead of team-mate Lando Norris.

    Max Verstappen now heads the field but the Dutchman is yet to pit.

    That was a good call from McLaren, they needed to do that because another lap around and Hamilton would have been able to potentially taken a position away from Lando Norris.

    Norris has crucially got control over Max Verstappen, he's built that gap, he's over 3.5 seconds back to Verstappen. We thought Verstappen could well come alive in the race and pose a major threat but actually McLaren at this point at least have the race under control.

    Next in is polesitter Lando Norris. It's a OK stop by McLaren and the Briton rejoins the action in fifth place on hard rubber. Lewis Hamilton, meanwhile, passes Yuki Tsunoda for sixth spot.

    Mercedes have triggered the undercut on Max Verstappen and Red Bull and have called in Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time world champion is put on the hard compound and comes back into play in seventh place behind Yuki Tsunoda.

    Lance Stroll gets a move on trying to lift his Aston Martin back up the order. First job to wiggle through on Kevin Magnussen's Haas. Job done on his fresh medium tyres.

    Aston Martin are trying to give Fernando Alonso information but the Spaniard doesn't want to hear it. Meanwhile, team-mate Lance Stroll comes in to change his soft tyres but the stop isn't the cleanest and the Canadian heads out in the action behind Kevin Magnussen, Alex Albon and into P16.
