After that ace on the third, Rafa Cabrera-Bello covers the eighth in two and the Spaniard breaks out of that group on -13 to move one back of Adrien Saddier.

Adrien Saddier draws a heavy lie at the fifth, but he has plenty of green to work with and he does well to knock it up to around seven feet.

And he rolls in the putt, too! The Frenchman isn't easily fazed.

A club twirl from Rory McIlroy at the sixth.

From 159 yards, he controls the spin well and he'll have a good look at his fourth birdie in five holes.

    Now then.

Our leader is in a spot of bother down the left on five.

Whack! He absolutely lashes at it to the get the ball up and over the trees, but he comes up short and he'll have to scramble for par.

Angel Hidalgo, who's struggling, misses the green as well.

Rory McIlroy takes a good look at this 42-footer.

He's already holed a long one today...and he's just gone and holed another!

Incredible stuff. The crowd absolutely loved that one!

The Masters champion is two back and all smiles.

No birdies for Adrien Saddier or Angel Hidalgo at the fourth.

Typically steady stuff from Saddier even though he missed a 12-footer for birdie there.

    McIlroy -12, Garcia-Heredia -11 (4)

Rory McIlroy finds the semi-rough down the right on the fifth.

He only has 169 yards in but the ball's above his feet and he hangs it out to the right. It finds the green, but it's easily 30 feet away.

Not his best effort. He's had a few loose iron shots around here this week.

    Angel Hidalgo's stumbling a bit.

He's just made back-to-back bogeys and he's duffed his chip at the par-five fourth.

I'm not overly surprised - he expended so much energy during that 63 yesterday.

    McIlroy -12, Garcia-Heredia -11 (4)

Can Rory McIlroy make another long putt and really get this crowd going?

No, it never had enough pace. He's a tad frustrated with that effort but that's a birdie and it keeps him moving in the right direction.

    Three back.

Rory McIlroy's crushed his drive at the fourth.

Go time. He's thinking eagle. His second is pulled slightly but it finds the surface and he'll likely pick up his second birdie today.

If he's going to win, taking advantage of the four par-fives will be crucial.

  13. Another bogey for Hidalgopublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 7 September

    Saddier -15, Hidalgo -13 (3)

Angel Hidalgo finds the bunker at the short third and can't get up and down so it's back-to-back birdies for the 27-year-old after that birdie start.

Adrien Saddier tidies up for his par after missing the green right. Two-shot lead for the Frenchman.

  16. Hidalgo drops backpublished at 13:36 British Summer Time 7 September

    Saddier -15, Hidalgo -14 (2)

A dropped shot for Angel Hidalgo at the second, so Adrien Saddier is back in the lead on his own.

A lot of early movement at the business end of the leaderboard.

    Cabrera-Bello -13 (4)

Hole-in-one man Rafa Cabrera-Bello has found the par-five fourth in two.

Big move by the former Ryder Cup player.

    McIlroy -11, Garcia-Heredia -11 (2)

Rory McIlroy doesn't like his shot at the par-three third.

He's pulled it and he looks worried. He avoids the water but he comes up quite a bit short with what is a fairly simple chip.

    Struggling for par again.

  19. McIlroy holes big putt for birdiepublished at 13:26 British Summer Time 7 September

    Garcia-Heredia -11, McIlroy -11 (2)

Rory McIlroy's distance control has left a lot to be desired over the past couple of days and he's way off with his approach at the second.

It comes up well short and spins back down the green.

But he steps up and drains the 38-foot putt! Sensational. What a way to erase that opening bogey.

  20. Hidalgo joins Saddier at toppublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 7 September

    Saddier -15, Hidalgo -15 (1)

Adrien Saddier pops his chip out to around five feet and duly rolls his par putt in the middle. Well done.

But it's first blood to Angel Hidalgo. An opening birdie and it's a two-way tie at the top!
