  1. Hovland flying flag for Europepublished at 23:05 British Summer Time 19 May

    Iain Carter
BBC golf correspondent on BBC Radio 5 Live

European hopes are still burning here with Viktor Hovland!

  2. Postpublished at 23:04 British Summer Time 19 May

    DeChambeau -19, Hovland -19 (16)

Viktor Hovland was probably the best player in the world last autumn, before he changed coaches and started tinkering with his game, why do golfers do that?

Going bac to basics here, he's stuck in another beauty into the 17th green so will have a put to tie the lead again.

  3. JT feels the lovepublished at 22:59 British Summer Time 19 May

    Thomas -13 (68)

A 'Kentucky welcome' for Justin Thomas as he make his way onto the green of the 18th hole.

He has had some wonderful support this week from the crowd at his home major in his home state and he looks a little emotional as he acknowledges them.

It's nearly 50 feet for his eagle attempt and he can't give the spectacular finish the crowd hope for. He settles for the birdie instead from six feet and applauds the crows that chant his name.

A bogey-free final round for the American in what has been a positive week at Valhalla.

  4. Postpublished at 22:59 British Summer Time 19 May

    Rose -16, MacIntyre -11 (16)

Bucket and spade time on the 17th for Justin Rose, who finds the left fairway bunker.

The Englishman, who has finished inside the top 10 in three of his previous four appearances at the US PGA Championship is currently fourth, a stroke ahead of Belgium's Thomas Detry, who is already in the clubhouse.

  5. Schauffele still in frontpublished at 22:56 British Summer Time 19 May

    Schauffele -20, Morikawa -15 (14)

An outside chance for Xander Schauffele on 14 but it's a tough hole and he'll take a par there - as inevitably does Collin Morikawa after finding the bunker off the tee.

Badly running low on different ways to say "Collin Morikawa gets a par" right now. That's 14 of them now.

  6. Bryson Tree-Chambeaupublished at 22:53 British Summer Time 19 May

    DeChambeau -19, Hovland -19 (16)

Bryson DeChambeau gets a huge break when he hooks his tee shot into the woods, but unbelievably the ball hits a tree and emerges right in the middle of the fairway!

That's never happened to me once. Ever. And I'm sure I've hooked more drives into trees than Bryson.

Anyway, he takes full advantage by sticking his approach in nice and tight, it's basically a gimme and he rolls it in to join Viktor Hovland on 19 under just a shot behind.

  7. Birdie for Lowrypublished at 22:51 British Summer Time 19 May

    Theegala -11, Lowry -15 (14)

At last. Shane Lowry zips his approach into 10 feet on the 14th and rattles his putt into the back of the cup.

Sahith Theegala, who finds the left bunker from the tee box is punished as another stroke goes west.

  8. Safe parpublished at 22:48 British Summer Time 19 May

    Schauffele -20, Morikawa -15 (12)

Nice uneventful par for Xander Schauffele - or a Collin Morikawa we're calling it today - just hitting the heart of the green and a safe two putt.

    Or Collin Morika-par? Anyone? No?

  9. Postpublished at 22:47 British Summer Time 19 May

    Rose -16, MacIntyre -11 (16)

Justin Rose has a long uphill putt on the 16th but it's another one from over 20 feet and another one he can't convert.

  10. On for a record?published at 22:39 British Summer Time 19 May

    Iain Carter
BBC golf correspondent on BBC Radio 5 Live

In relation to par I think we are going to see the record broken today at Valhalla.

  11. The X-factor's backpublished at 22:37 British Summer Time 19 May

    Schauffele -20, Morikawa -15 (11)

Xander Schauffele just simply had to convert that short putt after a wonderful approach, and he makes no mistake to get to 20 under and back into the lead by himself.

Guess what Collin Morikawa scored on that hole?

  12. DeChambeau 'is having to work harder for his score'published at 22:35 British Summer Time 19 May

    Zane Scotland
Former European Tour player on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Bryson DeChambeu hasn’t quite been on his game but it has been pretty industrious. He has really dug deep.

He is five under par for his round, yet has leaked things to the right and shied away from his driver a few times.

He is playing smart, making good decisions but he looks like he is having to work harder for his score compared to Viktor Hovland.

  13. Postpublished at 22:33 British Summer Time 19 May

    Rose -16, MacIntyre -11 (15)

I bet he wishes he could take a mulligan. Robert MacIntyre is playing out of the rough down the left on the 15th and pulls his second right, with his ball appearing to dive into the rocks near the water.

The Scot pays for that with his second dropped shot of the day.

Justin Rose is slap bang in the middle of the green, but his 17-foot birdie attempt never looks like dropping.

  14. Play-off formatpublished at 22:30 British Summer Time 19 May

    Just in case....

If we've got a tie at the top after the final round, and let's face it with such a packed leaderboard there's every chance - there will be a three-hole aggregate score play-off at Valhalla.

Holes 13, 17 and 18 will be used. If there's still a tie after that, it will switch to sudden death using 18, 13, 17 repeatedly.

  15. Postpublished at 22:30 British Summer Time 19 May

    Schauffele -19, Morikawa -15 (11)

He's short in stature but huge in heart is Xander Schauffele, as he goes flag hunting again on the 12th - and he's played an absolute ripper with a seven iron that can't be more than five feet away.

  16. 'So key the timing of how these things go'published at 22:29 British Summer Time 19 May

    Zane Scotland
Former European Tour player on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

To make the birdie so quickly with that in his mind Schauffele, you can do all the work you want to mentally but there is nothing quite like making a good swing and getting a putt in quickly for the demons to be dealt with early and to get back on track.

It is so key the timing of how these things go.

Some players have a really good knack of not letting it ever disturb them, but it has been a bit of an issue for Xander Schauffele in the past so that is a really timely birdie for him.

  17. Lowry labouringpublished at 22:28 British Summer Time 19 May

    Theegala -12, Lowry -14 (12)

A really good par for Shane Lowry at the 12th but that bogey on the eighth hole looks to have taken the wind out of his sails.

Unlike yesterday, when he was almost having to match Justin Rose blow by blow and birdie by birdie, his playing partner on Sunday has also struggled with Sahith Theegala, two over at present after bogeys on the second, fifth and 10th holes.

  18. Schauffele back in a sharepublished at 22:25 British Summer Time 19 May

    Schauffele -19, Morikawa -15 (11)

He's let a few slip through his fingers, but Xander Schauffele is in no mood to do it again as he hits right back following that bogey with a birdie on the 11th thanks to another stunning iron off the tee.

It leaves eight feet and Schauffele gobbles that up and marches on purposefully towards the next with the bit firmly between his teeth

  19. Rose goes closepublished at 22:23 British Summer Time 19 May

    Rose -16, MacIntyre -12 (14)

Oh my that was close from Justin Rose from all of 40 feet. The Englishman's putt is well measured but just tracks right.

Robert MacIntyre has just not got anything going today. He makes his seventh straight par and at the moment is on for the worst round of his week.

  20. Hovland takes solo leadpublished at 22:19 British Summer Time 19 May

    DeChambeau -18, Hovland -19 (13)

Right decision from Viktor Hovland who lofts his second shot to 15 feet and casually rolls it in as if he's playing on the local municipal course.

Suddenly, he's out in front all alone.

Playing partner Bryson DeChambeau is in even closer than Hovland and he tucks in for a birdie that moves him level with Xander Schauffele in second.
