  1. Flying Scottiepublished at 21:03 British Summer Time 19 May

    Scheffler -13 (16)

Scottie Scheffler has torn up this back nine.

He plays his second shot on the par-four 16th to just over 17 feet from the pin and he confidently roles it in.

That is six holes in a row that he has played in three shots. Efficient.

He won't win today but he can feel good about how he has bounced back this final round.

  2. Big save for Schauffelepublished at 21:03 British Summer Time 19 May

    Schauffele -17, Morikawa -15 (6)

That's big for Xander Schauffele, after a scratchy hole on the sixth he's left with 13 feet just to save his par, but he drains it to keep his card clean and his lead intact.

Collin Morikawa makes it six straight pars to start his round - still well in it, but he'd like to see some birdies soon.

  3. Hovland hat-trick!published at 21:01 British Summer Time 19 May

    DeChambeau -16, Hovland -16 (7)

Now then, beautiful recovery from Viktor Hovland who splashes out of the sand and then slams in a 20-footer for birdie.

Three in a row means he is only one back.

Playing partner Bryson DeChambeau gives a rueful look to the crowd around the seventh green as his long putt for birdie nibbles the hole but stays up.

Par fives are usually his bread and butter.

  4. Hodges hat-trickpublished at 21:00 British Summer Time 19 May

    Hodges -14 (9)

American Lee Hodges has closed out his front nine with three straight birdies to propel himself into the shake-up at 14 under - that's just three off the lead.

  5. Postpublished at 20:59 British Summer Time 19 May

    Theegala -13, Lowry -15 (6)

Another wry smile for Shane Lowry. That might have dropped 24 hours ago but the world number 43 sees his birdie putt stay out.

Actually maybe it wouldn't have. The Irishman has made a par in each of his four rounds at the sixth.

  6. Postpublished at 20:57 British Summer Time 19 May

    DeChambeau -16, Hovland -15 (6)

A bit of trouble for Bryson DeChambeau prompted by a loose second shot on the par-five seventh. He's stuck out in the rough and will have to chip it clear.

Viktor Hovland is not faring much better as he dunks his shot into the front green bunker.

  7. Into the drink for McIlroypublished at 20:54 British Summer Time 19 May

    McIlroy -10 (13)

13, unlucky for some and it is for Rory McIlroy today.

He overcooks his second shot - a straightforward 90-yard wedge - and it ends up heading right of the green and into the water.

The former champion has to take his medicine and head to the penalty area. His fourth short is superb however as it ends up mere inches away from the hole and he will be wishing he had done that the first time round.

As soon as he had picked up a shot, he hands it straight back.

  8. Birdie for MacIntyrepublished at 20:53 British Summer Time 19 May

    Rose -12, MacIntyre -12 (7)

Decent chip from Justin Rose out of all that nasty stuff but instead of running and running it pulls up eight feet shy of the pin. The Englishman ideally would have wanted that the trundle on a little further and can't dispatch the birdie putt.

Robert MacIntyre knows just how he is feeling, albeit his consolation for not seeing his eagle attempt drop is a handy birdie.

  9. JT at the turnpublished at 20:52 British Summer Time 19 May

    Finau -11, Thomas -11 (9)

Justin Thomas hinted at making a move early on with that birdie from the sand on three, but that's the only shot he's managed to pick up on a front nine with eight pars.

Tony Finau's birdie on eight means he also turns in 34 so joins Thomas on 11. They'll need some quick birdies coming in to lay down a challenge

  10. Morikawa 'is a very clinical golfer'published at 20:50 British Summer Time 19 May

    Zane Scotland
Former European Tour player on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

He [Collin Morikawa] has not made the inroads the others have made but hasn't really missed a shot.

He is a very clinical golfer. He is not the longest of hitters and he has kind of gone middle of the fairway. He hasn't gone at the pin too much so far, but he is just plucking his way.

Great shots of Bryson DeChambeau crossing the bridge at the seventh hole elbow-pumping the supporters lining it.

He is hugely popular out here, riding the emotion at the moment.

    And he will keep coming.

  12. Postpublished at 20:49 British Summer Time 19 May

    Rose -12, MacIntyre -11 (6)

Justin Rose is having quite a time. "That's a mud ball" he mutters as his approach into seven takes a horrible bounce into more thick stuff. After his travails on the sixth it is the last thing he needed.

Robert MacIntyre on the other hand plays a stunning iron shot to 11 feet to deliver an eagle chance.

  13. Birdie for Schefflerpublished at 20:45 British Summer Time 19 May

    Scheffler -12 (15)

Scottie Scheffler must really be ruing that round of 73 on Saturday.

His shot off the tee ends up in the first cut just off the left of the fairway but his approach into the green leaves him with around 16 feet for another birdie.

He gets it to drop and it is a fourth birdie in six holes on this back nine.

  14. Brilliant birdie for DeChambeaupublished at 20:41 British Summer Time 19 May

    DeChambeau -16, Hovland -15 (6)

Spoke too soon on Bryson DeChambeau!

The big American gives it two fist pumps and celebrates wildly in front of the crowd around the sixth green as he slots in a magnificent putt from the fringe.

His shadow looms large in Xander Schauffele's rear-view mirror.

As does Viktor Hovland's who, in slightly more understated fashion, strokes in a calm birdie of his own.

  15. Bogey for Theegalapublished at 20:38 British Summer Time 19 May

    Theegala -13, Lowry -15 (5)

Classy, effortless, call it what you will...Shane Lowry flops his chip into three feet before tidying up.

The Irishman still has a bemused look on his face as he picks his ball out of the hole but it could be worse of course given his playing partner ends up shipping another shot after those two earlier wayward strokes.

  16. Birdie for McIlroypublished at 20:38 British Summer Time 19 May

    McIlroy -11 (12)

Just as I say he isn't catching light on this back nine, Rory McIlroy goes and helps himself to a birdie on the twelfth.

He hits it to within six feet of the hole and duly tidies it up to move onto 11 under.

With Xander Schauffele leading the way on 17 under you do feel like it is too little too late from McIlroy.

  17. Postpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 19 May

    DeChambeau -15, Hovland -14 (5)

What a shot from Viktor Hovland.

He's measured his approach on the sixth to perfection and has just four feet to get another birdie.

Bryson DeChambeau is also on the green in two but 37 feet looks less likely.

  18. Rose drops backpublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 19 May

    Rose -12, MacIntyre -11 (6)

What is Justin Rose doing on the sixth? He hits a horrible wide with his second that puts him in all sorts of bother to the right of the dance floor.

But then manages to clip a decent enough pitch from the gnarly stuff to give himself a look at par. His scorecard does not escape intact though, as he tickles a putt down to the hole that breaks right.

Better news for Bob, who gets up and down for his four.

  19. Schauffele extends leadpublished at 20:31 British Summer Time 19 May

    Schauffele -17, Morikawa -15 (4)

Xander Schauffele is short and in the rough in the short par-four fourth, but he plays a tricky shot superbly to set up a relatively easy birdie.

Collin Morikawa looks frustrated as he misses his chance to pick up a shot and so Schauffele now holds a two-shot lead.

  20. Postpublished at 20:31 British Summer Time 19 May

    Theegala -14, Lowry -15 (4)

Sahith Theegala is struggling. The American hoiks his tee shot left on the sixth and then lets out a shout of "fore left" as he takes his second, surrounded by fans with phones at the ready to take a shot of their hero or his misfortune.

Shane Lowry air mails the green with his second and turns to look at his caddie Darren Reynolds, as if to say, 'what happened there?'. I'm sure he already knows he overclubbed.
