Only four times this century has a player come from three or more shots back to win the US PGA Championship.

And none of those were trying to overhaul Scottie Scheffler in this form.

Most recently, in 2022, Justin Thomas came from eight shots back to win at Southern Hills.

Not sure those at three under par are licking their lips at the prospect of trying to rein in the world number one.

Sergio Garcia was one of the earlier starters today and shot a two-under-par 69 in his final round to finish seven over for the tournament.

A little earlier, he spoke to Sky Sports about the setup of the course:

"I think it's the easiest you could get it. The pins - 90% of them are in the middle of the greens. There's not a lot of wind like yesterday and the greens are firming up a little bit, but the pins are so simple that there are going to be some good scores out there.

"I played OK, I didn't play that great and I probably should have shot five or six under. That shows you that the course is very gettable."

An early tee time for the biggest draw in golf is good news for the PGA of America. The crowds have flocked to Quail Hollow early to see the Masters Champion. He’s too far back to scare the leaders but Rory McIlroy will want to finish a frustrating week in style.

Hello golf fans and welcome to coverage of the final round of the 2025 US PGA Championship from Quail Hollow in North Carolina.

Scottie Scheffler produced a flying finish last night to storm into a three-shot lead at the top of the leaderboard - will he simply run away with this or will we see a Sunday comeback?

Jon Rahm is five off top spot with Bryson DeChambeau and Tony Finau a further shot behind and they'll play far enough ahead of Scheffler that they could lay down a decent target for the world number one to catch.

And don't forget, we've got arguably the hardest finishing three holes in major championship golf with big numbers lurking everywhere - it's not over until it's over at Quail Hollow....
