    3UP Thompson v Boutier (11)

Lexi Thompson maintains her three-hole lead in what currently looks like the match that will put Team USA on the brink.

With big leads in two matches ahead of her, a win for Thompson here would put the hosts on 14 points, needing just a half from the rest.

The blue wave needs to keep growing.

Charley Hull won the first point of the day, beating world number one Nelly Korda, and was speaking to Sky Sports:

"I knew I had to play unbelievable to beat Nelly, she’s a great player and I played my heart out.

"I shot seven under through – I don’t know how many holes I played. I did what I had to do and it was a pretty cool moment.

On whether it will motivate the rest of the team and her love for the Solheim Cup:

"Just go out there and anything is possible.

"I just love playing under pressure - that’s why I think I play well in the majors. Big events, big crowds on hard courses. It’s what I love doing."

There are small pockets of support for Europe all around the course with the likes of Sylvia, Yolanda and Pablo all flying the flag for Spain as they follow Carlota Ciganda around.

“It’s not going to be easy from here,” says Pablo. “It looks like there are too many matches that need to swing back our way. We can only hope it’s a long day.”

It is starting to turn, Pablo.

  16. Khang eases past Pedersenpublished at 17:02 British Summer Time 15 September

    Khang v Pedersen 6&5 (F)

Megan Khang does a Cristiano Ronaldo-esque 'Siuuu' as she makes her way off the green at the 13th after wrapping up a 6&5 demolition of Emily Pedersen following a bogey from the Dane.

Pedersen was playing her fifth match and simply looked like she had run out of steam against the fresher Khang.

A matter of minutes after Charley Hull had reduced the deficit the USA regain their four-point advantage.

  17. Schmelzel from the sandpublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 15 September

    Schmelzel v Sagstrom A/S (7)

One thing the USA have done more than Europe this week is the highlight reel shots, ones you wouldn't normally expect to make - hole outs, chip-ins etc.

Sarah Schmelzel gives us a classic example as she holes out from the bunker at seven to level her match.

Nelly Korda has seen enough and Charley Hull celebrates an incredible 6&4 victory over the world number one.

Suzann Pettersen sent her out first with a job to do, and my word didn't she do it in some style!

  20. Take a bow Charley!published at 16:53 British Summer Time 15 September

    Korda v Hull 5UP (13)

Nelly Korda has to lay up on 14, but Charley Hull is in position A++ on the fairway to have a go, and in trademark fashion she has a ferocious swing at the ball and lashes it 187 yards down to with a foot or so of the hole for eagle.

That should be the match and what a way to do it!
