Summary

  1. Lee makes remarkable eagle at 12published at 16:50 British Summer Time 15 September

    Al Lee v Hall 3UP (12)

Oh wow. Allison Lee had her hole out yesterday and she looks just as delighted with this as she chips in for eagle from way behind the green in the rough at the 12th.

That eats away at Georgia Hall's lead once again.

  2. Ewing back on termspublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 15 September

    Ewing v Maguire A/S (6)

Ally Ewing levels things up on the sixth after a Leona Maguire bogey. Little to choose between these two so far, though.

  3. Henseleit goes all square for Europepublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 15 September

    An Lee v Henseleit A/S (10)

Fist pump from Esther Henseleit as she levels things at the 10th.

That breaks the big chunk of red on the leaderboard and breathes life into Europe's challenge.

  5. Valenzuela chips at Vu's leadpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 15 September

    1UP Vu v Valenzuela (7)

Albane Valenzuela refuses to go away and has sunk from long range to take the seventh hole.

She's one back from Lilia Vu.

  6. Pedersen running on emptypublished at 16:45 British Summer Time 15 September

    5UP Khang v Pedersen (12)

Curtains for Emily Pedersen now, you would think, barring something remarkable. The Dane's running on empty

Megan Khang taps in a birdie to go five clear through 12.

  7. Thompson three in frontpublished at 16:45 British Summer Time 15 September

    3UP Thompson v Boutier (8)

I'd hate to be one of those people who thought Lexi Thompson couldn't putt right now, as they've got a lose dose of egg on their faces as the American pours in another to go 3UP.

    Heath

I never imagined having a chat about the merits of a certain dark stout brewed in Dublin or a bitter previously referred to as ‘the cream of Manchester’ here in Virginia.

But Heath, who is originally from Ohio but now resides close by the RTJ golf club, is a big fan of both and is clearly on drinks duty here.

More to the point mind, he says that the “golf is awesome.”

He adds: “I really wish the ladies got more coverage on TV here. For me it’s just as entertaining as men’s golf but the purses are a fraction in comparison.

"When you consider just how good they are it really needs to be looked at.”

Earlier, our colleague said this was shaping up Lexi Thompson to sink the winning putt.

He also said the Solheim Cup veteran, who plans to retire at the end of this season, is not great at putting.

She's been electric on the greens so far today, making it all the more likely she will be on the winning side a little later.

  10. Five star Hullpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 15 September

    Korda v Hull 5UP (13)

Charley Hull drains a lengthy putt on the 13th to win that hole and stretch her lead to five in this exhibition of astonishing golf.

A reminder she's playing world number one Nelly Korda, winner of six tournaments this season, and doing a real number on her.

Which player looks like world number one on today's evidence?

(Clue: It's not the American superstar who came into this match with a 100% record)

  12. 'Vammoosss!'published at 16:38 British Summer Time 15 September

    2UP Zhang v Ciganda (9)

"Vammmosss!!!!" roars Carlota Ciganda, who clenches her fist after sinking a 15 footer to win the ninth and shave one off Rose Zhang's lead.

Europe's hopes will depend on the likes of the Spaniard producing something special on the back nine.

    Schmelzel v Sagstrom 1UP (6)

A trademark American long putt holed by Sarah Schmelzel gives her the sixth hole and cuts Madelene Sagstrom's lead in half.

  14. Henseleit fights backpublished at 16:36 British Summer Time 15 September

    1UP An Lee v Henseleit (8)

Great response from Esther Henseleit as she makes par at the eighth and trims back her deficit to just one.

Like Anna Nordqvist two holes ahead, her point could be critical.

  15. Postpublished at 16:35 British Summer Time 15 September

    1UP Corpuz v Nordqvist (10)

Allisen Corpuz has a chance to take the 10th but doesn't hit it anywhere near hard enough and it curls away short.

Anna Nordqvist stays just one behind in what is shaping up to be a pivotal match in the grand scheme of things.

    Ewing v Maguire 1UP (5)

Nip and tuck between Ally Ewing and Leona Maguire at the moment.

The American has a chance to get back on level terms with a very makeable putt at the fifth, but she tentatively curls it wide of the hole.

Maguire was not selected at all yesterday so will be keen to make a point to Europe captain Suzann Pettersen today.

  17. Hall re-exerts controlpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 15 September

    Al Lee v Hall 4UP (11)

Well played Georgia Hall as she produces a wand of a tee shot at the 11th and sinks the birdie putt.

Allison Lee is in closer after a stunner of her own and has to hole just to stay three back. Which she doesn't.

    Four-shot advantage back in place.

  18. Postpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 15 September

    Korda v Hull 4UP (12)

Nelly Korda is running out of holes now as Charley Hull sinks her birdie putt to halve the 12th hole, which both played really well.

Korda is four down now with just six to play.

  19. Vu extends leadpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 15 September

    2UP Vu v Valenzuela (6)

    Sunday singles

It's another hole gained for America's Lilia Vu at the sixth as Albane Valenzuela cannot convert from eight feet.

There's a big swathe of red in the middle of that scoreboard, which will be enough for the US to claim the Solheim Cup.

Europe need to turn the tide.

  20. Postpublished at 16:27 British Summer Time 15 September

    3UP Zhang v Ciganda (8)

Carlota Ciganda has been fortunate that Rose Zhang's putting has not quite been at the races over the past few holes. Zhang squanders a birdie putt at the eighth and misses the chance to go four clear.

Can Ciganda get herself back in the reckoning?
