    McIlroy -13, Gotterup -15 (13)

If he's feeling the pressure, he's certainly not showing it.

Another wonderful iron shot at the 14th hole leaves Chris Gotterup with about five feet for birdie.

Rory McIlroy follows that with a fine approach of his own...

Chris Gotterup has made around £2.2m in career earnings. And he's looking at making £1.2m for this week's work alone. No pressure, fella...

  3. 'As clean as I've played all year'published at 17:47 British Summer Time 13 July

    Rose -11 (63)

Justin Rose described his best-of-the-day 63 as "about as clean a round as I've played all year".

The Englishman recorded seven birdies on a blemish-free card to finish at 11 under for the Scottish Open.

"I feel like that's been out there for me this week," he said of his final round. "At times, I've done a lot of good things and it's been a beautiful week.

"Seven birdies, with virtually no long putts holed. It was just a very, very clean round of golf. I really, really enjoyed it."

Rory McIlroy's birdie putt never looks like dropping and Chris Gotterup shows lovely hands to put his chip within three feet.

The American knocks in the putt with ease. He's not going away.

  5. Postpublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 13 July

    M Fitzpatrick -12, Penge -12 (14)

Matt Fitzpatrick at the 14th. He's got a decent birdie chance, not as good as Marco Penge, but still decent.

From 13 feet... he leaves it just short. A tap-in par, but the chance is gone. At three behind, he can't afford many more of them.

Penge, from just a few feet, pours his birdie in. Back in contention, perhaps?

  6. Mixed bag for Aberg but Hojgaard in mixpublished at 17:39 British Summer Time 13 July

    Hojgaard -12 Aberg -9 (16)

    Richard Winton
BBC Scotland at The Renaissance Club

That's a second eagle of the day for Ludvig Aberg, who also has two birdies on his card. Just a shame about the four bogeys...

Another day of what might have beens for the young Swede.

One of his playing partners is still in the mix, though, with Nikolai Hojgaard posting his seventh birdie of the day to go to 12 under.

    Hovland -8 (17)

A horrible ending for Viktor Hovland. At the par-three 17th, he hits his tee shot way short. His chip is too hard, and he leaves himself a 40-footer for par.

The Norwegian misses that, and gets the two-foot bogey putt wrong. A double at the second last and he drops far, far back.

  8. Postpublished at 17:36 British Summer Time 13 July

    McIlroy -13, Gotterup -15 (12)

Rory McIlroy finds the green at 13, while Chris Gotterup does superbly to hack out of the rough.

There's no spin on his ball though and it shoots through the back of the green, leaving a tricky little chip.

    Penge -11 (13)

Marco Penge has only dropped one shot today, but suddenly finds himself four shots off the pace as Chris Gotterup rockets away.

He opts for a 50° wedge at the par-three 14th, and sticks it within two yards. Exceptional!

Maybe there's still life in him yet.

    Scheffler -9 (16)

    Martin Watt

After a birdie on 15, Scottie Scheffler has a right good chance to add another at the par-five next but it doesn't even threaten the hole.

    McIlroy -13, Gotterup -15 (12)

    A twist?

Chris Gotterup sprays his drive at 13 into the right rough, before Rory McIlroy splits the fairway.

    Schauffele -9 (66)

Xander Schauffele finishes with a par at the 18th, carding his second 66 of the week.

The 2022 Scottish Open winner has had a mixed couple of days, but he goes out on a high and currently sits tied seventh on the leaderboard.

Schaueffle will head to Royal Portrush for his Claret Jug defence in good fettle after today's work.

Rory McIlroy's birdie putt is pushed right of the hole.

Chris Gotterup makes no such error and moves two shots clear at the top.

    Fitzpatrick -12 (12)

By his own admission, England's Matt Fitzpatrick has endured a "tough 18 months".

Form has deserted the 2022 US Open champion and he has tumbled down the world rankings from seventh to 77th.

This week has been much more like it from Fitzpatrick. There will be more twists and turns to come in this chase for the title, so don't write him off yet.

    N Hojgaard -11 (15)

Nicolai Hojgaard has a decent birdie chance from the edge of the green... but it rolls just wide.

He's still tied fourth - and importantly, he's currently qualifying for The Open next week.

Three shots back with three holes to play, a win is unlikely but his five-under performance so far has been one of the best of the day.

  16. Postpublished at 17:19 British Summer Time 13 July

    McIlroy -13, Gotterup -14 (11)

Two of the best tee shots you could ever wish to see.

Chris Gotterup plays a soft draw that finishes three feet or so from the hole, piling the pressure on Rory McIlroy.

But the Masters champion answers, slinging a draw of his own to a similar distance.

  17. Postpublished at 17:14 British Summer Time 13 July

    McIlroy -13, Gotterup -14 (11)

A huge par save for Rory McIlroy, who has putted beautifully all week.

Chris Gotterup also has a nasty distance for his par, but he holds his nerve.

To the par-three 12th - the fourth toughest hole on the course today...

  18. Fitzpatrick falters immediatelypublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 13 July

    M Fitzpatrick -12 (12)

That's not nearly as good from Matt Fitzpatrick at the 12th. He suffers a horrible bounce on a bank in front of the green, and the ball loops away to the left.

His recovery is okay, but he pushes his par putt a little left. He drops back immediately, at the wrong time.

No, this long snaking line isn't the queue for the bar. It's for the grandstand at the 18th hole.

Clearly a rush on to get a seat well in advance of the leaders coming through.

  20. McIlroy left in a picklepublished at 17:04 British Summer Time 13 July

    McIlroy -13 (10)

Rory McIlroy's tee shot at 11 ends up at the foot of a tree, forcing him to chip out sideways and left-handed.

He does it with aplomb and finds the green with his next shot. A must-make par putt coming up...
