  1. Hall ends four underpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 2 August

    Hall -4 (68)

No birdie at the last but Georgia Hall has given herself a chance of contending for the title she won in 2018 with her round of 68 today.

Consecutive bogeys on the 14th and 15th halted her momentum but she recovered well with three pars to finish and she finds herself in the top 10 at the moment.

  2. Lee birdie streak endspublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 2 August

    A Lee -8, Liu -3

Andrea Lee began the back nine with four consecutive birdies, but that streak comes to an end on the 13th where she has to settle for par.

The American has five more holes to make some inroads into Miyu Yamashita's lead and heap pressure on the Japanese player.

  3. Khang goes five underpublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 2 August

    Woad -2, Khang -5 (12)

Lottie Woad nabbed a birdie on the ninth but she's been unable to find another one since with back-to-back pars on the 10th and the 11th holes.

Woad has another birdie chance for the 12th but once again comes up just a little short with her putt and taps in for her 10th par of the day.

Playing partner Megan Khang has picked up a birdie, though, and moved menacingly to five under.

  4. Postpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 2 August

    Takeda -6, Yamashita -10 (6)

Rio Takeda is forced to lay up on the par-five sixth and then can't control the distance of her approach. She saves her par but would likely have wanted a lot more than that from that hole.

Miyu Yamashita tries to run her third up the green but it catches on the second tier and then rolls back a couple of inches. That was so close to being, very, very good.

As it is, she'll have to settle for a par.

  5. Korda bounces backpublished at 15:54 British Summer Time 2 August

    Korda -1 (11)

Nelly Korda could not buy a birdie earlier but bounces back from that dropped shot on the 10th with a very welcome three to pick up her first of the day.

She is currently tied for 32nd and will really need a few more birdies to make this a moving day to remember.

  6. 'Hull is in the mix'published at 15:52 British Summer Time 2 August

    Hull -6 (66)

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at Royal Porthcawl

Charley Hull began the day at level par, 11 shots off the lead.

There will be some frustration after that missed birdie putt on the last, but that should not take the shine off a spectacular round of 66.

    Hull is in the mix.

  7. Korda drops backpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 2 August

    Korda E (10)

Nelly Korda is playing out of the gnarly stuff on the 10th and can't control her approach which flies through the green. The world number one is faced with an awkward up and down and can't make her four from there to record a second bogey of the day.

  8. Hull shoots 66published at 15:50 British Summer Time 2 August

    Hull -6, Spitz +3 (F)

A magnificent effort from Charley Hull, who has got herself right in the mix with a third-round 66, featuring seven birdies.

Hull capitalises on a brilliant tee shot with a nice chip on to the green to give herself a chance of finishing off the round with a birdie.

However, the 29-year-old just overcooks it but returns to slide in a short putt for par.

At six under, Hull is four shots off the lead as things stand.

  9. Lee two off the leadpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 2 August

    A Lee -8 (12)

The gap is closing at the top!

Andrea Lee makes it four birdies in a row with a two at the par-three 12th and gets to eight under.

She's alone in second place and the closest challenger to Miyu Yamashita's lead.

If Yamashita begins to falter, this will get very interesting...

  10. Yamashita drops a shotpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 2 August

    Takeda -6, Yamashita -10 (5)

Miyu Yamashita is fallible after all. The leader drops her first shot for 24 holes after getting an uphill putt wrong.

    Rio Takeda saves her par.

  11. Postpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 2 August

    Hull -6 (17)

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at Royal Porthcawl

Charley Hull has a long look at the leaderboard as she walks up to the 18th green.

An up-and-down here for birdie would be most welcome.

  12. Postpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 2 August

    Harry E (9)

    Andrew Richards
BBC Sport Wales at Royal Porthcawl

Darcey Harry - Wales' only remaining representative in the field - has threatened to get moving in the right direction, leaving a couple of birdie putts short on the seventh and eighth holes.

There are a few groans as she finds a pot bunker short of the par-five ninth green.

They turns to big cheers from the home crowd as she sinks a birdie putt from just off the green to move to level par as she makes the turn.

  13. Katsu shoots 65published at 15:39 British Summer Time 2 August

    Katsu -6 (65)

Japan's Minami Katsu is another player to have stormed her way up the leaderboard today and she's just equalled the lowest round of this year's Women's Open so far.

Her seven-under 65 is even more incredible when you see she was two over after three holes today!

An eagle and seven birdies later, she's in a tie for third place.

It could have been a 64 but for a missed birdie putt from about four feet at the 18th.

Current leader Miyu Yamashita shot 65 in her second round yesterday.

  14. Hull tees off at the 18thpublished at 15:38 British Summer Time 2 August

    Hull -6, Spitz +4 (17)

Charley Hull has just teed off at the 18th and belted it right down the fairway. She will be eyeing a birdie or better to finish her round.

It's been an impressive effort from the 29-year-old Englishwoman, who has showcased her all-round game today. Not least when she's found the sand.

  15. Lee into second spotpublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 2 August

    A Lee -7 (11)

What a run of holes for American Andrea Lee.

Six birdies and a bogey in the space of eight holes have lifted her up to second place on her own, four shots off the lead.

  16. Postpublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 2 August

    Hull -6 (17)

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at Royal Porthcawl

Charley Hull taps in for par and so begins the stampede to follow her up the 18th.

She has a smile on her face as she high-fives her way to the tee.

Can she find another birdie on the par five to finish?

  17. Hull finishing wellpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 2 August

    Hull -6, Spitz +1 (17)

Charley Hull an inch or two away from a brilliant birdie.

Hull was just off the green at the 17th but opted to putt rather than chip on.

The 29-year-old bends it up the hill and it comes to a stop just on the edge of the cup. Hull taps in for par.

  18. Consecutive bogeys for Hallpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 2 August

    Hall -4 (14)

Georgia Hall finds more sand from the 15th tee and has about 10-12 feet left for a par three, but can't make it drop.

    Slides by the right edge.

  19. Yamashita's lead growspublished at 15:30 British Summer Time 2 August

    Takeda -6, Yamashita -11 (4)

Rio Takeda is long and left on the par-four fourth. She fluffs her chip back on to the green and her ball just rolls off the left edge. She'll be able to putt from there and makes a decent fist of saving par but her effort just comes up a little short.

The relatively untroubled Miyu Yamashita makes another solid and safe par as her lead grows to five shots, thanks to her playing partner's bogey.

  20. Woad birdies ninthpublished at 15:29 British Summer Time 2 August

    Woad -2, Khang -4 (9)

After a largely frustrating first eight holes, Lottie Woad finishes the front nine with a birdie.

Woad comes up a few feet short with an ambitious eagle putt, but this time does not fluff her lines and manages to knock it in.

Is that the start of something?

Megan Khang also birdies the hole. She has now moved to four under.
