    Rose -5, Schauffele -8 (15)

You could've handed Xander Schauffele the trophy now had that pitch over the bunker gone in, which it almost did. He's still left with a short birdie putt though that would give him one hand on the trophy at least...

Hands in pockets, easy gait… Xander Schauffele looks nice and relaxed here.

  3. 'Rose could not have hit that any better'published at 17:50 British Summer Time 21 July

    Rose -5 (15)

All Justin had to do was get it on the green and that was an amazing shot with a driver off the deck off these tight fairways.

I think he liked that one. He could not have hit that any better.

  4. Driver off the deck!published at 17:48 British Summer Time 21 July

    Rose -5, Schauffele -8 (15)

Talk about going all-in. Justin Rose pulls out the furniture on the 16th fairway and has a crack with the driver from 295 yards, which scoots onto the green and gives him a long eagle try.

Everyone loves watching these guys hit driver off the deck and that was textbook.

    Horschel -4, Lawrence -6 (14)

Four holes left for our final group who started today with serious designs on winning the Claret Jug.

Both go big off the tee and pick out the fairway.

    Now for the green.

  6. Postpublished at 17:46 British Summer Time 21 July

    Rose -5, Schauffele -8 (15)

Both men lay up short of the burn on the par-five 16th, which is playing the second easiest hole on the course today.

Xander Schauffele has a crack at the green with a three wood but it drops out of the sky short of the green and short of the front bunker too.

  7. Another par for Schefflerpublished at 17:45 British Summer Time 21 July

    Brown -1, Scheffler -3 (17)

A 20-foot chance for Scottie Scheffler to get to four under after a well judged tee shot at the 17th.

It's drifted by and he'll tidy up for par.

Dan Brown follows him in with a three.

  8. Frustration for Rosepublished at 17:43 British Summer Time 21 July

    Rose -5, Schauffele -8 (15)

Justin Rose is throwing his arms aloft in exasperation again as his long putt looks bang on line but just wobbles along and settles the wrong wide of the left lip.

The only saving grace for Rose is that Xander Schauffele didn't land another blow to his chances as he failed to make a long birdie putt this time.

Just three holes to go though.

  10. Lowry birdiespublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 21 July

    Lowry-4 (17)

Shane Lowry is finishing with a flourish as he sinks a putt from just off the green at the 17th to notch a birdie.

If he can follow that with another on the par-four 18th to finish five under he will, at least, have something to cling to as the leading groups work their way through the back nine.

  11. Par for Lawrencepublished at 17:39 British Summer Time 21 July

    Horschel -4, Lawrence -6 (14)

It appears Thriston Lawrence has lost his conviction on the greens as he leaves a putt criminally short at the 14th.

Par is not enough for either him or Billy Horschel at this stage.

  12. Postpublished at 17:37 British Summer Time 21 July

    Rose -5, Schauffele -8 (14)

Justin Rose is a touch annoyed as he can only hit it to 27 feet from a great position on the fairway, while Xander Schauffele knocks it five yards closer from a similarly fine spot.

  13. 'Schauffele not making any mistakes'published at 17:37 British Summer Time 21 July

    Rose -5, Schauffele -8 (14)

    Catriona Matthew
Captain of Team Europe at the 2019 & 2021 Solheim Cup

Rose has got to try and make some birdies. Schauffele doesn’t look as though he’s going to make any mistakes.

  14. Scheffler birdies the 16thpublished at 17:36 British Summer Time 21 July

    Brown -1, Scheffler -3 (16)

Sand again for Scottie Scheffler at the 16th but out he comes and it's a tickler for birdie.

He's up to three under but you have to think it's too late.

  15. Postpublished at 17:32 British Summer Time 21 July

    Rose -5, Schauffele -8 (14)

The drive is crisp, and long, and the centre of the fairway is found by Xander Schauffele on 15 as you just sense he knows he's got this by the scruff of the neck - and he knows how to get the job done.

  16. Lowry misses birdiepublished at 17:32 British Summer Time 21 July

    Lowry -3 (16)

Shane Lowry puts hands on his hips and turns away from the hole at the 16th in frustration after missing a birdie putt.

He's five shots off the lead with two holes left to play.

  17. Par for Lawrencepublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 21 July

    Horschel -4, Lawrence -6 (13)

Billy Horschel takes a moment after producing a phenomenal chip from the rough at the 13th.

It dances round the hole and comes to a rest inches from dropping. He needed a birdie and it's not going to happen.

    Fine rescue though.

Thriston Lawrence has missed his putt and will stay two back.

  18. Postpublished at 17:29 British Summer Time 21 July

    Horschel -4, Lawrence -6 (12)

Cracking response from Thriston Lawrence as he pings his second shot onto the 13th green.

Can he get his eye back in from 15 feet to try and haul Xander Schauffele back?

  19. 'More confidence in Schauffele'published at 17:29 British Summer Time 21 July

    Rose -5, Schauffele -8 (14)

    Catriona Matthew
Captain of Team Europe at the 2019 & 2021 Solheim Cup

I have more confidence Xander is going to hole these putts than Justin.

Schauffele has been knocking them in the back of the hole, Rose has been just a little tentative.
