  1. 'Not good shots at all'published at 21:24 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy -12, DeChambeau -9 (7)

    Andrew Magee
PGA Tour winner on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Not good shots at all from the best players in the field we have left today.

They should have hit those nice and low and neither of them hit a good shot.

  2. Postpublished at 21:23 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy -12, DeChambeau -9 (7)

A hop, a skip and Rory McIlroy's ball jumps onto the green.

Twenty seven feet left to try and make a birdie.

Bryson DeChambeau is closer and can show off some short-game skills.

Or perhaps not. That's overpitched and goes about 40 feet beyond the flag.

  3. More birdiespublished at 21:21 British Summer Time 13 April

    Conners -8 Reed -7 (8)

More birdies for these two as they pick up shots on the par-five eighth as they both just threaten to make this interesting heading towards the second nine.

Hmm, the back nine on Sunday at the Masters? I've heard a few things can happen.

  4. Postpublished at 21:21 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy -12, DeChambeau -9 (7)

With their two balls almost next to each other, Rory McIlroy just gets the opportunity to go first out of the bunker.

He has the three-shot lead to be safety-first and, getting it out, he clips it up and over the top of the hill.

Will Bryson DeChambeau be more risky?

Only a tad. He's about 30 yards further down the fairway.

  5. Scheffler two under at the turnpublished at 21:17 British Summer Time 13 April

    Scheffler -7, Lowry -2 (9)

Scottie Scheffler is miles off line with his birdie try on nine - and the speed isn't great either, but he can roll it home for par as he reaches the turn two under for his round and seven under in total.

Still just on the fringe of things but a couple of birdies could change all that.

Shane Lowry bogeys the ninth sadly and he completes his first nine in three over for the day.

  6. How many chances?published at 21:14 British Summer Time 13 April

    Aberg -8 Day-6 (8)

Ludvig Aberg has missed so many chances for birdie already today, as another chance goes begging on the eighth. He's only four back but he should be so much closer.

Jason Day also misses an even better chance for birdie here, and the Australian can't believe the ball didn't drop.

Picture perfect stillness at the eighth tee box as Rory McIlroy lines up his driver.

It's in the fairway bunker again! That's three days in a row he's done that on this par five.

The crowd quietens again for Bryson DeChambeau - and he's done the same thing!

Can't split these chaps off the tee.

  8. McIlroy misses birdie puttpublished at 21:11 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy -12, DeChambeau -9 (7)

Oh no Rory - he's left it short!

When he was in the trees, he could hardly have imagined he'd have the opportunity to make birdie.

    But he can't take advantage.

    DeChambeau also makes par.

  9. Postpublished at 21:09 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy -12, DeChambeau -9 (6)

Bryson DeChambeau is all arms and legs weighing up this bunker shot but he hasn't half managed it well. Splashing out and almost holing, his ball finally nestling three feet away.

    Huge credit there.

  10. 'Box office'published at 21:08 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy -12, DeChambeau -9 (6)

    Trish Johnson
Eight-time member of the Team Europe Solheim Cup team on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

If Rory McIlroy goes on to win this tournament and you ask him the pivotal moment, without a shadow of a doubt, it will be this shot.

This is extraordinary. His reaction is box office.

SalfordBazza: That's shot from the gods from Rory.......that's name on the trophy territory

  12. Postpublished at 21:07 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy -12, DeChambeau -9 (6)

    "Ragged". "Trudging". "Full meltdown mode".

Hard to believe that the Rory McIlroy who is strolling down the seventh fairway in stitches is the same golfer people were describing with the above words just an hour or so ago.

Probably helps that Bryson DeChambeau has dumped into a bunker from a perfect spot in the middle of the fairway.

  13. Two birdiespublished at 21:07 British Summer Time 13 April

    Conners -7 Reed -6 (7)

I know, I know you're not really interested in the rest when Rory's pulling off Hollywood shots out the trees, but just in case, both Corey Conners and Patrick Reed have birdied the seventh.

That's back-to-back birdies for Reed as well.

  14. Postpublished at 21:05 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy -12, DeChambeau -9 (6)

Put that on a postcard and send it home, Rory McIlroy.

    That shot beggars belief.

  15. Gutsy par save for Rosepublished at 21:05 British Summer Time 13 April

    Rose -7 (9)

Big fist pump from Justin Rose as he sinks a left-to-right slider for his par on the ninth after racing his first putt by.

The Englishman needs a stunning back nine to really push himself back into this.

  16. Postpublished at 21:04 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy -12, DeChambeau -9 (6)

    Stop it Rory McIlroy!

He's landed it six feet from the pin!

  17. Postpublished at 21:04 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy -12, DeChambeau -9 (6)

So there are six magnolia trees in Rory McIlroy's face but, after a detailed discussion with caddie Harry Diamond, here he goes.

Up, over, on its way with a wedge but there's a kickback follow through.

Where on earth has that gone...?

  18. 'Embrace and enjoy every minute of it'published at 21:01 British Summer Time 13 April

You have to acknowledge the crowd to a certain extent but you have to enjoy the experience.

Even though he’s trying to stay concentrated on what he’s doing, the noise out there is so enormous you have to embrace it and enjoy every moment of it.

Paul: Rory was one shot behind when my lad announced he had been sick. Went to clear up and sort him out and come back to find Rory is three ahead again. Is it wrong to hope for another vomiting episode?!

Paolo: Let’s be honest, this final round is an utterly captivating watch. It’s been utter madness so far. It’s like there really is a script and they’re acting their parts to perfection

  20. Postpublished at 20:59 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy -12, DeChambeau -9 (6)

A bit of a matchplay situation going on at the seventh hole as Bryson DeChambeau watches Rory McIlroy hit into the trees again and duly pulls out an iron from his own bag.

Not taking any chances - and he's safely onto the fairway.
