    Scheffler -6 (17)

A rousing reception for Scottie Scheffler as he approaches the 18th green, and well might the patrons applaud.

He's just dropped his approach within eight feet of the pin - one of the best shots we've seen all day.

    Birdie attempt incoming.

  2. Postpublished at 23:56 British Summer Time 13 April

    Homa -5, DeChambeau -2 (16)

Bryson DeChambeau booms another huge drive, this time sending it into the stratosphere up the 17th fairway, but he's hit it too far if anything and he's left himself a tricky little shot.

He's not judge the distance good enough and he's come up short as well as then spinning it away from the hole.

  3. Postpublished at 23:54 British Summer Time 13 April

    Scheffler -6 (17)

Final drive of the day for Scottie Scheffler and it's exactly what he would have wanted, flushed down the fairway.

With Collin Morikawa safely round, Scheffler needs a birdie to be the leader outright overnight.

  4. Morikawa & Davis in the clubhousepublished at 23:53 British Summer Time 13 April

    Davis -2 (73), Morikawa -6 (69)

What a shot. Collin Morikawa proves that his short game is in great shape with a chip and run to four feet from a tough spot out on the left.

Cam Davis goes one better, aiming his putt about six feet left of the pin and using the back ledge to run it in to gimme range.

Both duly sign for pars and as it stands Morikawa is still in a tie for the lead.

Will that be the case at the close of play?

  5. Bogey for Brysonpublished at 23:50 British Summer Time 13 April

    Homa -5, DeChambeau -2 (16)

Bryson DeChambeau is shaking his head again after being faced with a monster putt up the hill on 17 and leaving himself 10 feet coming back just for a par.

And he can't make it drop, so that's a bogey and a third shot gone in two holes.

  6. Aberg in contentionpublished at 23:45 British Summer Time 13 April

    Aberg -4 (70)

Ludvig Aberg has a half chance for a closing birdie but it's not to be as he settles for a par on 18 and a two-under round of 70.

It could have been so much better but for those two bogeys on 14 and 15, but it's still a fantastic round of golf and in his very first Masters, in fact his very first major, he's currently fourth and just three shots off the lead.

  7. Bogey for Schefflerpublished at 23:45 British Summer Time 13 April

    Scheffler -6 (17)

Another twist as Scottie Scheffler bogeys the 17th. What a third round this has been.

His putter lets him down this time after he clipped to four feet. His ball trundles round the cup but stays out.

He'll follow Collin Morikawa down the final hole level pegging, but hoping not to follow his compatriot into the patrons.

  8. Postpublished at 23:44 British Summer Time 13 April

    Davis -2, Morikawa -6 (17)

Collin Morikawa doesn't half let the world know when he plays a bad shot.

A shout of anguish comes out as he hoiks his approach to the 18th left into the patrons.

Cam Davis reckons he's "thinned" his as he looks up into the sky but it lands on the back ledge of the green only slightly skips off.

  9. Fox's horror finishpublished at 23:41 British Summer Time 13 April

    Fox +4 (77)

If you are talking about a horror finish, spare a thought for Ryan Fox.

The New Zealander made a triple bogey at the 17th and also dropped a shot on the 18th to slide right down the leaderboard.

  10. Double bogey for Brysonpublished at 23:37 British Summer Time 13 April

    Homa -5, DeChambeau -3 (15)

Augusta National is a beautiful menace, as Bryson DeChambeau is finding out and he looks all over the place as he scrambles around on 15.

His second chip is ordinary to say the least, and his bogey putt is raced six feet past the hole, leaving him rubbing his eyes in disbelief.

The former US Open champion takes a moment to compose himself and then rolls in for a seven - a bitterly disappointing double bogey.

  11. Postpublished at 23:37 British Summer Time 13 April

    Davis -2, Morikawa -6 (17)

Par saved. Brilliant stuff from Collin Morikawa.

  12. Bogey for Fleetwood at the lastpublished at 23:36 British Summer Time 13 April

    Fleetwood -1 (72)

A frustrating finish for Tommy Fleetwood on 18 as his 47 foot putt keeps going and leaves him a nervous four feet on the way back for par.

He nudges it by the hole though and has to make to do with a bogey.

After that little bit of excitement, he's finished the round where he started it - one under par.

The leaders might need to come back to him a bit if he's going to have a chance tomorrow.

  13. Postpublished at 23:35 British Summer Time 13 April

    Davis -2, Morikawa -6 (16)

Collin Morikawa proves his point as his putt races past by nine feet after picking up too much pace and lipping out.

It's almost like an 'I told you so' moment for the American, who needs to channel all his energy now into saving his par.

  14. Hojgaard stops the run of bogeyspublished at 23:34 British Summer Time 13 April

    Hojgaard -2 (16)

We're pretty invested in poor Nicolai Hojgaard after the carnage he has endured since taking the lead.

I am relieved to report he's made par on 16. Stems the bleeding.

  15. Disaster!published at 23:32 British Summer Time 13 April

    Homa -5, DeChambeau -5 (14)

What's Bryson DeChambeau done here? He's had to clear the patrons out of the way and it's the trodden down grass he has to play from, which is never nice.

But he's just totally duffed his chip, flopped it down the side of the bunker and into the water! And what's worse is he'll have to play the same shot again...

  16. Postpublished at 23:30 British Summer Time 13 April

    Davis -2, Morikawa -6 (16)

Collin Morikawa is fuming with himself on the 17th.

The American gets on the green with his approach but it's run slightly left and he'll have a tricky putt over a ridge to deal with on a surface that seems to slope off in every direction.

  17. Par for Scheffler on 16published at 23:29 British Summer Time 13 April

    Scheffler -7 (16)

Sublime touch from Scottie Scheffler to take the jeopardy out of a 35-foot putt on the 16th green.

He's rolled it in tight and, although he's marked his ball, it'll be a kick-in par for the world number one.

  18. Par on 17published at 23:27 British Summer Time 13 April

    Aberg -4 (17)

After what's been happening recently this is a rare regulation par for Ludvig Aberg and maybe just what he needs to continue to just calm down at the end of this eventful round.

  19. Willett ends three over parpublished at 23:26 British Summer Time 13 April

    Willett +3 (76)

Danny Willett has just finished his round on the 18th, carding a four over 76.

It's been a grind for the 2016 Masters champion who battled back from three bogeys in the opening five to briefly return to level par on the back nine.

However, he's missed from nine feet on 18 and closes with a bogey.

  20. Postpublished at 23:26 British Summer Time 13 April

    Smith -1 (72)

Cameron Smith plays bogey-free golf all day and then throws one in on the 18th as his par putt from six feet almost skims the left of the cup before travelling on another six feet.

The Australian is currently tied for 11th but surely too far back to have a say on Sunday.
