    DeChambeau v Fitzpatrick 4UP (6)

The way Matt Fitzpatrick is playing, Bryson DeChambeau simply cannot afford to offer up these presents.

  2. Messy halfpublished at 18:48 BST

    Cantlay v Aberg 1UP (4)

A messy hole halved in par fives - Ludvig Aberg goes way long with his second, but Patrick Cantlay is short and in the bunker and they both take three to get in from there.

Messy stuff but Europe stay ahead.

  3. Half on sixpublished at 18:47 BST

    Scheffler A/S McIlroy (6)

Rory McIlroy nudges his to four inches. Four.

Now Scottie Scheffler, from a good deal closer - and it's helpfully uphill.

Good roll but misses a smidgen on the right. Half.

  4. Near miss from Rosepublished at 18:46 BST

    1UP Young v Rose (8)

Cameron Young gets away with one when Justin Rose just fails with a 15 footer on the eighth so the American can stay one ahead.

That was a better stroke from Rose at least though.

  5. Henley back on termspublished at 18:46 BST

    Henley v Lowry A/S (2)

An immediate bounce back from Russel Henley who levels things up against Shane Lowry with a confident putt on the second.

  6. Rahm stops the rotpublished at 18:43 BST

    2UP Schauffele v Rahm (3)

It's played two holes, lost two for Jon Rahm but he stops the rot on the third.

The Spaniard and his fellow two-time major winner both have putts from 12 feet or so but neither are able to convert and the match situation remains unchanged.

  7. Postpublished at 18:43 BST

    Scheffler A/S McIlroy (5)

Outside chances of birdie threes on the sixth green. The half is most likely though.

  8. Postpublished at 18:43 BST

It's all going to get a bit frenetic now.

But plenty of early colour across that scoreboard.

Scoreboard - three red, four blue
  9. Griffin wins the firstpublished at 18:42 BST

    Griffin v Hojgaard (1)

Ben Griffin wins the first hole after a lovely approach does the job against a rusty Rasmus Hojgaard. The Young Dane has only played once this week, with Luke Donald prefering the more experienced players ahead of the rookie.

You can understand it, but it'd be nice for Hojgaard to get something today to feel like he's contributed.

  10. Straka sizzling with the putterpublished at 18:42 BST

    Spaun v Straka 2UP (3)

The big Austrian rolls another in.

    Can JJ Spaun reply?

Not this time. Two-up to Europe.

    DeChambeau v Fitzpatrick 4UP (6)

Four-up and four-under. What a round of golf Fitzpatrick is playing today.

    Bryson looks a bit bewildered.

  12. Fitzpatrick in complete commandpublished at 18:40 BST

    DeChambeau v Fitzpatrick 4UP (6)

Talk about a stroke of fortune...Bryson DeChambeau takes a huge clump out of the fairway with his approach into the sixth green and a small pitch mark then kills the back spin and prevents his ball wandering off further than 11 feet.

His putter is not working mind and he misses left of the hole for the fourth hole today. His putting stroke looks well off.

Meanwhile Fitzy nails his second to four feet before knocking in his fourth birdie of the day to take another hole.

  13. Postpublished at 18:37 BST

    Spaun v Straka 1UP (2)

    These lads can putt.

JJ Spaun rolls his birdie putt in and looks set for the win, but the big Austrian, as I can't stop calling Straka, follows him in.

His putting stroke is silky as you like.

  14. Young aheadpublished at 18:36 BST

    1UP Young v Rose (7)

Justin Rose misses his putt coming back after his wild first attempt, leaving Cameron Young with just five feet for the win, which he rolls in to go one up.

The American has turned this top match around, albeit with a big assist from Rose and some unusually slack putting.

  15. Halved in fourspublished at 18:35 BST

    Scheffler A/S McIlroy (5)

Uphill for Rory. Bit of left to right on it.

But he just comes up shy... He had that if it had had a touch more pace.

    Now Scottie. Nails it. Solid.

    Halved in fours.

  16. Postpublished at 18:34 BST

    Young A/S Rose (6)

Justin Rose has 50 feet on the seventh which he races by the hole, which Cameron Young then follows from only 17 feet - the American bashing it through the break and well beyond the cup.

  17. Henley blunders at the firstpublished at 18:32 BST

    Henley v Lowry 1UP (1)

Russel Henley, who has looked out of sorts the past few days, misses a simple putt from a few feet at the first to hand the hole to Shane Lowry.

    A freebie for the Irishman.

  18. Postpublished at 18:32 BST

    Scheffler v McIlroy 1UP (4)

Aggressive through the sand there from Scottie. Might well make his four.

But here is Rory for the win...

  19. Not what Bradley wanted for the USpublished at 18:31 BST

    Scores with five European points
  20. Fitzpatrick on firepublished at 18:31 BST

    DeChambeau v Fitzpatrick 3UP (5)

This is getting ugly for Byson DeChambeau, the American fans favourite is not getting a look in from Matt Fitzpatrick at present.

The Englishman is on fire on the greens at present and rakes in a 20 footer to take a third hole.
