  1. Lee into thirdpublished at 13:00 BST

    Lee MW -14 (12)

Five under in his past five holes - that's the scorecard of Lee Min-woo who is motoring around the turn.

    He's suddenly up to third!

The Australian has been totally under the radar, but is on the charge.

  2. Hatton drops shotpublished at 13:00 BST

    Noren -16, Saddier -15, Hatton -14 (7)

The obligatory expletive follows a slightly errant shot by Tyrrell Hatton out of the sand, short of the seventh green. His ball catches the rough and that kills its momentum.

Adrien Saddier is next up with his lengthy putt and he steams his ball up the hill. Thankfully, for him, it catches a piece of the hole, which helps slow it down.

Back to Hatton who stabs his chip for par and the ball pulls up six feet short. A straight putt though and it's just one shot gone.

Alex Noren hits a super lag putt for a kick-in par.

Saddier to tidy up? Five feet for par. Holed.

  3. Par for Hovlandpublished at 12:54 BST

    Fichardt -13, Hall -10, Hovland -12 (7)

Update on Viktor Hovland after that fine approach. He's got 11 and a half feet, and it misses.

He'll stay at 12 under and in neutral.

Pars too for Darren Fichardt and Harry Hall.

  4. Postpublished at 12:53 BST

    Noren -16, Saddier -15, Hatton -15

Adrien Saddier comes up a fraction short with his second on the seventh. His ball thuds into the green but he's landed on a huge slope and his ball trundles back down to the front edge. A super slow putt coming up.

Alex Noren fires his to the right level, although he's 25-feet to the left of the hole. Tyrrell Hatton is gouging a wedge out of deep rough and his ball plunges into a greenside bunker. All about the lie.

  5. Postpublished at 12:52 BST

    Rahm -12 (16)

The wind has slightly gone out of Jon Rahm's sails as he plots his way towards the finish line.

He's made par at the 16 but you feel it'll need to be something spectacular over the closing two par-fives if he's going to set an insurmountable total.

  6. 'Hopefully some putts will drop!' - Hattonpublished at 12:51 BST

    Hatton -15 (6)

Tyrrell Hatton is looking pretty serene as he wanders down the seventh hole, chatting to Sky Sports.

"I'm just trying to get myself opportunities on every hole - I've basically had a birdie putt for the first six holes but unfortunately only two have gone in so far," he laughs.

"It's going fine. I have a moan and then by the next shot I'm getting really focused and know what I'm trying to do.

"I feel fairly good, somewhat comfortable with my swing. I'm just trying to keep hitting good golf shots. Hopefully some putts will drop."

  7. Pars for leading triopublished at 12:47 BST

    Noren -16, Saddier -15, Hatton -15 (6)

Over on the sixth and Adrien Saddier finally has a look at a birdie but the Frenchman slides his effort past the hole.

Tyrrell Hatton also has a presentable chance, from around 15 feet, but his ball stays on the green.

Alex Noren scrambles well after being out of shape of the tee, two-putting for par from 35 feet.

  8. Postpublished at 12:45 BST

    Hovland -12 (6)

I mean, wow. Majestic from Viktor Hovland whose view of the green is completely blocked by some of the giant trees that flank Wentworth.

No bother, he flops it over the foliage and kills it dead, seven feet from the pin. Terrific.

  9. Fitz chip-in birdiepublished at 12:42 BST

    Fitzpatrick -13, Ferguson -13, Reed -13 (7)

A smile from Matt Fitzpatrick follows a chip-in birdie on the seventh and he moves alongside playing partner Ewen Ferguson, who narrowly misses doing similar from the greenside rough.

Patrick Reed has a great chance to move a shot clear of them after knocking his approach to three feet. But that's an awful putt. Wow. Big miss. Par.

  10. Rai moving on uppublished at 12:38 BST

    Rai -14 (7)

Aaron Rai's terrific start continues - a fourth birdie in his opening seven holes sees the Englishman move two off the lead.

His latest is a four-footer after another pin-seeking wedge from 140 yards.

  11. Reitan continues to ascendpublished at 12:38 BST

    Reitan -14 (8)

Hottest player out there right now? That's Kristoffer Reitan who rams home his fifth birdie of his opening eight holes and leaps to 14 under par.

The 27-year-old has made almost 70 feet of putts so far today.

  12. Rahm pars the 15thpublished at 12:36 BST

    Rahm -12 (15)

Jon Rahm knows he's not given his lengthy birdie putt enough juice up at the 14th and is immediately up and after it.

A shot picked up there would have been a bonus.

He's four back with four to play but could set a target.

  13. Fichardt up to 13 under parpublished at 12:35 BST

    Fichardt -13, Hall -10, Hovland -12 (6)

Another man joining the gaggle at 13 under par is Darren Fichardt as he tidies in a birdie on his sixth hole.

Gutsy par save from Viktor Hovland too as he required 14 feet after that trouble off the tee.

    He'll stay at 12 under.

  14. Aberg's up and down startpublished at 12:35 BST

    Aberg -9 (7)

There had been high hopes that Ludvig Aberg may shine today but the Swede is having one of those rounds.

He bounced back from a couple of early bogeys with successive birdies on the fourth and fifth but he immediately gave a shot back on the sixth. A par on the seventh and he's way off the pace.

  15. Penge shoots up the boardpublished at 12:32 BST

    Penge -13 (11)

A nice move from Marco Penge up ahead of the leaders as he sneaks up to 13 under par.

Birdies at 10 and 11 mean the Englishman is within three with seven holes of his round to play.

  16. Noren bogey, Hatton birdiepublished at 12:30 BST

    Noren -16, Saddier -15, Hatton -15 (5)

Alex Noren does about as well as you could expect to from 30 yards with no green to work with. He parachutes a high effort straight at the pin but there's no stop on the ball.

And the 15-footer coming back for par is too tricky. Shot gone.

Adrien Saddier shows some frustration as he leaves another chip short of the hole. But he once again tidies up for par.

And finally, Tyrrell Hatton for birdie... in the heart of the hole. Lead cut to one.

  17. Postpublished at 12:28 BST

    Hovland -12 (5)

If anyone was thinking Viktor Hovland was settling in for a normal round after his first par of the day at the fifth, then I've got news for you.

He has blundered his tee shot waaay right off the sixth.

    More trouble for the Norwegian.

  18. Noren in troublepublished at 12:25 BST

    Noren -17, Saddier -15, Hatton -14 (4)

A comedy trampoline bounce off a footpath for Alex Noren's ball down the right of the par-three fifth hole.

But it's no laughing matter for the Swede who cannot watch as his ball takes a huge bounce away from the green. His two-shot lead may be threatened here...

...Tyrrell Hatton, fresh off his down, up, down par on the last, fires in to about three feet. Saddier's scruffy start continues as his ball runs through the back of the green.

  19. Punishing bogey for Rahmpublished at 12:21 BST

    Rahm -12 (14)

Jon Rahm perhaps in must-make mode after an untidy approach found the bunker at the 14th.

He's ended up seeking par from 11 feet and no, he's given it too much turn.

That is a real momentum checker for the Spaniard.

  20. Postpublished at 12:19 BST

    Hatton -14 (4)

    Trish Johnson
Former Europe Solheim Cup player on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

I must admit at no stage did it look like it was in.

Because of the pace he hit it, it did a full 360 around the cup - and that's always hard to take.
