2011 - not a vintage year for January transfers according to you.

The winner? Chelsea's purchase of Fernando Torres with 35.7% of the vote, followed by Andy Carroll's switch from Newcastle to Liverpool (23.9%).

    Thanks for voting.

New York City FC striker Adam NemecImage source, New York City FC

BBC World Service Sport's John Bennett: "Frank Lampard has a new team-mate but don't get too excited, this player has signed for New York City, not Manchester City."

  3. What's your value in the market?published at 17:03 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2015

With clubs up and down the country looking for a bargain, today we're asking you: What is your value in the transfer market? And what would it take to convince you to join your rivals?

Jay Mercer: Available to any PL club, or my beloved Ipswich for £5m. 23 yr old 5'11" centre mid. Wand of a right peg. Don't pass it to my left though! Once made a 5min cameo appearance for Bromsgrove Rovers reserves (now called Bromsgrove Sporting). Lost 4-1.

Colin, aged 64: I'm a natural right back or a beguiling overlapping midfielder either on the left or right flank. I'd make a great signing for Everton on a nominal fee basis. Can also slot in up front and would make an excellent foil for Lukaku.

    French Ligue 1

BBC World Service Sport's John Bennett: "The big clubs in France have been very quiet today which is surprising when you consider that the title race is so close. Lyon are two points clear of Marseille and PSG.

"One of the top 3 who will complete a deal tonight is Marseille. Marcelo Bielsa's side should sign Monaco's 20 year-old Argentine midfielder Lucas Ocampos on loan.

"He was tipped for big things when he was at River Plate and now he'll be hoping to help Marseille to their first Ligue 1 title since 2010."
