  4. 'Six Nations timings are wrong'published at 16:53 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

Wales assistant coach Rob Howley says Six Nations tournament organisers should "probably" ensure all final-day games kick off at the same time.

Italy host contenders Wales on Saturday in a 12:30 GMT kick-off. Ireland then take on Scotland followed by England versus France at Twickenham.

Howley says the Six Nations should follow the Premier League model of simultaneous final day starts.

"Probably, that might and should be the case in the Six Nations," said Howley.

Imagine being the England manager, with almost 60m people telling you what you should be doing. And Roy Hodgson's latest squad selection has provoked plenty of debate....

Shawn Skellon: Shaw over Bertrand, really? A constant injured sub over a consistent performer in the best defence in the Prem - joke.

  6. Countdown to kick-offpublished at 16:46 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

Some early Everton team news from the Ukrainian capital, ahead of the teamsheets being handed in shortly.

England defender John Stones and Republic of Ireland winger Aiden McGeady return to the Toffees' squad for the second leg.

McGeady is back after missing nine games with a knee injury, while Stones has missed two following a stomach bug.

However, Belgium forward Kevin Mirallas is out with a knock from the first leg.

Tony Hibbert, Bryan Oviedo and Steven Pienaar are still absent as Everton, while cup-tied Aaron Lennon cannot play.

  7. Countdown to kick-offpublished at 16:42 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

What can you do in 90 minutes? Play a football match, of course. Complete a long and arduous commute home perhaps.

Whatever you're doing, that's the amount of time you have got until tonight's Europa League action kicks off.

Everton - AKA England's last man standing - take on last-16 opponents Dynamo Kiev in the Ukrainian capital shortly, boasting a 2-1 lead from the first leg.

After Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal crashed out of the Champions League, can the Toffees keep the Premier League's continental reputation sweet?

Daniel Benn: Re Welbeck inclusion. He has scored goals in this England campaign and is coming back from injury. Would be unfair to drop him.

  9. Sherwood delighted for Kanepublished at 16:31 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

Tottenham wanted to get rid of England new boy Harry Kane in January 2014, only for Tim Sherwood to step in and keep him at White Hart Lane - reckons the ex-Spurs boss.

Sherwood, now in charge of Aston Villa, says the 21-year-old deserves his call-up to Roy Hodgson's squad after scoring 26 goals this season.

"It is great that I resisted the temptation to let him move on in January 2014," claims Sherwood.

"There were people at the club who wanted to bring in another striker and sacrifice Harry Kane - but I wouldn't allow it.

"It took him time to win over the fans - they love him now and rightly so. I'm delighted for Harry."

  10. Neville to lead England at World Cuppublished at 16:22 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

Tracey Neville is named England netball head coach on an interim basis, replacing the outgoing Anna Mayes.

The 38-year-old former international will lead the squad at this summer's World Cup in Sydney.

Neville, the sister of former England footballers Gary and Phil, will also remain in charge of Superleague champions Manchester Thunder until the end of the season.

  11. PSG defender banned after ref outburstpublished at 16:19 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

Perhaps the more interesting PSG-related news is that full-back Serge Aurier has been banned for three Uefa matches - for abusing referee Bjorn Kuipers in an online video.

The Ivory Coast international used some, erm, choice language in a video posted on his Facebook page about the Dutch official, who sent off Zlatan Ibrahimovic against Chelsea.

Aurier later apologised. Profusely. But that hasn't cut the mustard with Uefa, who have dished out a hefty punishment.

Uefa has confirmed Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be suspended for Paris St-Germain's Champions League quarter-final first leg.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho had led the calls for Ibrahimovic's controversial red card in PSG's last-16 win at Stamford Bridge to be overturned.

Uefa had already confirmed Ibrahimovic's red card could not be overturned, and today said the suspension would stand.

  14. Injury blow for Robinsonpublished at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

Bad news for QPR and Huddersfield fans. Rangers' England Under-21 full-back Jack Robinson, who has spent the season on loan at Huddersfield, is ruled out for up to a year with a serious knee injury.

Robinson picked up the injury in the final minute of Town's Championship fixture at Birmingham on Saturday.

The 21-year-old had an initial scan on Monday before seeing a specialist earlier today which confirmed he has suffered a cartilage injury in his right knee.

NKBevo: Is Aaron Cresswell seriously not worthy of International recognition? Been quality so far this season.

Matt Borucki: Club is clearly weighted higher than form in England's selection process. Until that changes, they will continue to fail.

Steven Baxter: Charlie Austin, Berahino and Danny Ings should be in the squad over Welbeck favouritism from Roy rather than picking on form.

  18. Alan Pardew news conferencepublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

A few more titbits from Pardew in a news conference that is short and sweet,

"We know we still have a lot of work to do between now and the end of the season. We will be pushing for three points in every match," he said.

Asked about individual players at the club, Pardew responds: "Wilfried Zaha and Yannick Bolasie are both working so hard to add other aspects to their game, they have a great relationship on and off the pitch.

"Damien Delaney, Scott Dann and Julian Speroni are all leaders, I've been surprised by everyone here. They are a pleasure to work with."

  19. Alan Pardew news conferencepublished at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

Pardew seems to be having a great time at Palace, the club rising to 12th in the table since his arrival.

They are eight points clear of the drop-zone and go into Saturday's game at Stoke on the back of a 3-1 home win over QPR

"Seven days is a long time in football though," says Pardew, warning against over-confidence ahead of the game. "Stoke have had a great season and we know they will be ready for us.

"We're just concentrating on our game. We've got all our fans going up there and we know they'll back us all the way."

  20. Nigel Pearson news conferencepublished at 15:47 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

Leicester must start "making an impact" if they are to avoid an instant return to the Championship, says Foxes boss Nigel Pearson.

The Premier League's bottom club, who travel to Tottenham this weekend, are seven points adrift of safety after last week's draw against 10-man Hull.

"If we can get into the latter stages - when we have four out of five matches at home - in contact with the teams above us, then we can be relatively positive," says Pearson. "But we have got to make some sort of impact.

"Last weekend's result was disappointing but we go again. There are 10 matches left but there is still belief in our camp that we can do something."
