    The world number one is level through the front nine, having scored two birdies and two bogeys this morning at Wentworth.

    England's Chris Wood leads the field at -5 after 14.

    Matt O'Connor is leaving his post as Leinster coach by "mutual agreement" after a disappointing campaign.

    The 44-year-old Australian replaced Joe Schmidt in the job two years ago and won the Pro12 title in 2014.

    However, Leinster finished outside the Pro12 play-off positions this season and forwards coach Leo Cullen will take temporary charge of the team.

    Fresh from signing a new deal with Mercedes, Britain's Lewis Hamilton is fastest in the first practice session for the Monaco Grand Prix with a time of one minute 18.750 seconds.

    However, the standout performer was Max Verstappen who, in his first foray on the Monaco circuit, clocked the second fastest time, just 0.149 off Hamilton's benchmark.

    Former England footballer Paul Gascoigne has been awarded £188,250 in damages from Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) over phone-hacking.

    The pay-out was announced at the High Court in London after a three-week hearing in March to determine the extent of the wrongdoing at the group and what level of compensation was appropriate.

    Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has turned down an approach from Manchester United and will remain with the Bundesliga club next season, reports German magazine Kicker, external.

    The 26-year-old says he will fulfil his contract which is due to expire in 2017

    "It was fair enough that Mats gave it some thought, but I have always pointed out that he is firmly part of our plans," said Dortmund's director of sport Michael Zorc.

    Van Praag, who is president of the Dutch Football Federation, says he has switched his support to Prince Ali bin al-Hussein of Jordan.

    The election takes place on 29 May with Sepp Blatter, who is tipped to win a fifth term, and former Portugal great Luis Figo still in contention along with Prince Ali.

    Away from Lord's there is plenty happening in the County Championship.

    The game could go either way at Cardiff where Essex will begin the final day on 51-2, needing another 313 runs to beat Glamorgan, who are looking for eight wickets to secure their first Championship win of the summer.

    A positive result is also on the cards at Bristol, where Gloucestershire - who are looking for a third successive victory - will resume on 282-9, a lead of 240 over Division Two bottom club Kent.

    Surrey are 155-3 in their first innings at Northampton, replying to the home side's 309 all out, but a draw seems inevitable with so much time lost to rain earlier in the game.
