    The two-day Derby meeting gets under way at Epsom later with Ladies' Day where the feature race is the fillies' Classic, the Oaks, at 16:30 BST.

    Conditions are muggy and after showers at the Surrey track the going is officially described as Good, Good to Soft in a few places.

    Clerk of the course Andrew Cooper said about 3mm of rain had fallen this morning but the rest of the day was expected to be largely dry.

    Want to be a football manger? You might want to think again when you look at the latest statistics released by the League Managers Association.

    According to the LMA,, external the average tenure in the English game is just 1.23 years. For bosses in the Championship, where there were 20 dismissals in the 2014-15 season, the average spell in charge is even lower, at 0.86 years.

    In total there were 47 manager dismissals in the 2014-15 season, the most since the 2001-02 campaign when 53 were sacked.

    Arsene Wenger continues to buck the trend, having managed Arsenal for 18.67 years and 1,065 matches.

    The head of German football has called Fifa's payment to Ireland over Thierry Henry's hand-ball as "a joke".

    Fifa paid the Football Association of Ireland 5m euros (£3.6m) to stop legal action after France controversially beat Ireland in a World Cup play-off.

    Wolfgang Niersbach, the president of the German football federation and a Fifa executive committee member, told German television station ZDF: "It is a joke that they paid this money out to stop the Irish taking them in front of court."

    Selfie stick and elastic bands worked, but Roy Keane was "not in the mood for any of that Fifa stuff", despite the 30-40 of us crowded around the barriers trying our best during the 13 minutes we had with him.

    The Republic of Ireland assistant was in good spirits, though, ahead of the game against England on Sunday. When asked if FAI president John Delaney was a distraction after his claims about Fifa's 5m euro payment, Keane replied jokingly: "Isn't he always?!"

    At least my selfie stick worked to save my arm from dropping off.

    Real Madrid have completed their first summer signing. David de Gea? Nope. They've re-signed, external midfielder Casemiro from Porto.

    The 23-year-old Brazil international had been on a season-long loan at the Portuguese side from Real, with Porto having the option to buy the player.

    However, Rafael Benitez's side have exercised their option to pay a buy-out clause to keep him at the Bernabeu.

    South Korea's former Fifa vice president Chung Mong-joon, a possible candidate to replace Sepp Blatter, is flying to Germany today for talks on the future of world football's crisis-ridden governing body.

    Chung is to meet Uefa president Michel Platini and other international football figures in Berlin for Saturday's Champions League final.

    "This is an extremely difficult time for FIFA," says Chung, a long-time critic of Blatter. "I will speak to Uefa president Michel Platini about the current state of affairs at Fifa and what should be done."
