'Changed' AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli has pledged to continue defying crunching tackles on the pitch and taunts from rival fans off it after hitting his first goal for since returning to the club.

"They will take my legs and yellow cards, but they won't get the ball from me," Balotelli said after MIlan's 3-2 win against Udinese last night.

On what was his first start in a league game since April 28 when Liverpool faced Hull City, Balotelli struck a superb fifth-minute free kick.

"He showed that the real Balotelli is back. He was calm and showed he knows how to handle attempts to provoke him," said MIlan boss Sinisa Mihajlovic, who took over from Filippo Inzaghi in the summer.

You know when you're setting off to watch a footie match and you fret a bit about the time and how much traffic there'll be on the roads?

Well, you should count yourself lucky for ferry travel disruption - yes, you read that right - between Jersey and Guernsey could put this year's Jeremie Cup into jeopardy.

All of Saturday's quarter-final matches were called off after ferry problems meant the Jersey sides could not travel to Guernsey to play.

"Re-arranging them is going to be quite difficult," Jersey league official John Treleven told BBC Radio Jersey. "We need those matches wrapped up by January as the division splits between the top eight and bottom eight."

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was always going to be under scrutiny this season after such a poor campaign last time out - and that only increases when managers of the calibre of Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti are currently between jobs.

Klopp has been the name most linked with Liverpool should they part with Rodgers but Ancelotti, who won the Champions League twice with AC Milan (as well as famously losing it to Liverpool in Istanbul in 2005) and also wiuth Real Madrid has been linked today.

Liverpool's denials that they have approached the Italian, or indeed anyone else, could not be firmer but Rodgers will know he needs wins quickly simply to stop the chatter around his position, starting against Carlisle United in the Capital One Cup at Anfield tonight.
