Wales manager Chris Coleman says he is ready to discuss a new contract now Euro 2016 qualification is secured.

Coleman's deal ends next summer but he has refused to negotiate an extension with the Football Association of Wales during the qualifying campaign.

The 45-year-old believes reaching an agreement will be a formality but wants to ensure the correct "structure" is in place to ensure further improvement.

He said: "We've got to keep pushing these lads and that's the only way. It's not about resting now we've got to France. We've got think about how we replicate this campaign after we've been to France. We've got to qualify for the [2018] World Cup."

Jamie Carragherwriting in his column in the Daily Mail, , external said: "It has never been easier to win an England call-up.

"If anyone doubted that, Roy Hodgson's latest squad proved how quickly a young player can be elevated. Dele Alli's inclusion in the group for the games against Lithuania and Estonia caused eyebrows to be raised."

Hodgson replied: "I think you have to be careful with those sorts of comments because I don't think it's a situation where the moment you kick the ball correctly from A to B you'll get in the England team. It's not like that at all.

"But if you do come in and make an impact as a young player and there are a lot of injuries in the first team, there may be opportunities.

Lithuania v England (Tues, 19:45 BST)

Roy Hodgson has rejected claims that it has never been easier to win an England international call-up.

Former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher made the accusation after Tottenham teenager Dele Alli was brought into the squad for the final two Euro 2016 qualifiers against Estonia and Lithuania after only three Premier League starts.

"With Dele, you have to bear in mind the number of injuries we've had," said Hodgson.

"When I thought of the group in June, and what it was going to be like in October when we play our final two matches, there would have been six or seven who would have been with us."

Alli is expected to start tonight's final qualifier in Lithuania. Never ones to miss a plug, have we mentioned you can follow live commentary on the BBC Sport website..?

Moeen a risky opener - Boycottpublished at 15:54

    Pakistan v England

Geoffrey Boycott is typically forthcoming with his views on Moeen Ali being England's opener against Pakistan.

He said: “I think it’s a stop-gap decision because they can’t seem to find an opening batsman to partner Alastair Cook and they’re not sure what to do.

"It’s an obvious ploy if you open with Moeen then you can get the leg spinner in the team without disturbing the all-rounder Ben Stokes. It’s vital you have two spinners because of the heat.

"I just feel that it’s hit-or-miss, cross your fingers, when he goes into bat because he plays shots, wonderful shots. But he plays the ball on the up, he takes chances. He may come off, he may not. But he doesn’t seem to have a tight enough defence for me to make a success of it .He’ll have the odd innings when he plays well, but he’ll have some more when he gets himself out."
