Justin Rose faltered as Argentina's Emiliano Grillo claimed his first PGA Tour title with a play-off victory at the Frys.com Open in California.

Grillo, 23, was tied with America's Kevin Na on 15 under after a three-under 69 in his final round and won at the second extra hole with a birdie.

Rose was 14 under after nine holes but three bogeys in his last six holes saw him finish on 12 under after a 72.

Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy carded a three-under 69 to finish nine under.

Alan Jewitt: Have hated Leeds since Norman "break your legs" Hunter days. (Almost) feeling sorry for them now.

Francinee: Six managers since April 2014 is a joke... Managers need time to build teams in order to get success...

Laurson Moston: With Steve 'Sombrero' Evans in charge, I reckon we will finish bottom 6. No parties for us at the end of the season

Now then, this could be a bit awkward.

Interviewed by the Yorkshire Evening Post, external last October, Steve Evans - you know, the chap apparently taking training at Leeds right now and set to become their new boss - said he could never work for an owner like Massimo Cellino.

“If you take the job under Massimo, you know the rules; he picks the players, you coach the players," said Evans.

“[At Rotherham] I pick the players, whether they come, whether they go and our chairman supports that. The minute he doesn’t support it, I go."

Rob James: Leeds United has been pillaged by successive owners: Bates, GFH, now Cellino. This once great club, now a shell coated in history.

Adam Stubbings: Leeds are such a joke. They'll never go up under Cellino, and will probably go down instead.

Oi Cusworth: Feeling of optimism around Leeds United at the start of the season, that was fun while it lasted...

Graham Matthews: If Rosler had gone a couple of weeks back surely Jurgen Klopp would have been favourite to take over at Leeds next.

Paul Skinback: It's laughable. If Cellino wants to walk in to the PL, he needs to go and sign the best players around in the C'ship. Simple.

Craig Stevanato: Leeds are a joke of a club. Why would any manager want to go there?

Uwe Rosler sacked. Not quite sure what Leeds United's fans have done to deserve all this. The club now a monument to instability.

Jonathan Brown: I've heard of journeymen footballers but we are becoming a journeyman club. Cellino is destroying us.

'Rosler sacking is big surprise'published at 09:45

    Analysis

    Adam Pope
    BBC West Yorkshire Sport

    Uwe RoslerImage source, Getty Images

Uwe Rosler'ssacking byLeeds United is a big surprise. Not in the sense that we are used to Massimo Cellino regularly firing head coaches, but the fact the owner told me a few weeks ago that he was prepared to stick by the German and build for a promotion push next year.

Ultimately, though, three consecutive defeats and just two wins all season have done for Rosler, who admitted promotion was not the agenda this year. His realism disappointed many fans and the "heavy metal" football he wanted did not have time to evolve.

Another one bites the dust at Elland Road, where instability reigns again.
