Is former Aston Villa striker (can I call him a legend, Villa fans?) Dwight Yorke the man to steer the club off the rocks?

Here's what he makes of the sacking of manager Tim Sherwood and beyond, as told to BBC WM Sport:

“Could I do any worse? It would be a challenge but I think I can do that job. It wouldn’t be a settling in period – I know the area, I know everything about the club and the fans.

“You look at West Brom, Stoke and Leicester City – they’ve all got better players. For me, that is alarming. The magnitude of Aston Villa – it’s known as the biggest club in the Midlands but we’re a laughing stock at the moment.

“We’ve seen experienced managers take over and what have they achieved? Nothing. Whoever comes in is a gamble but I’ve learnt over the years and I know what it takes.”

The dispute between team-mates Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg following the US Grand Prix has been "blown out of proportion", Mercedes say.

Rosberg threw a cap at Hamilton after the race, in which the drivers touched while disputing the lead at the start.

Hamilton's win at Sunday's race in Austin sealed the World Championship.

Team boss Toto Wolff said: "If it were drivers from different teams, it would be seen as completely normal, what we all love to see and like it should be.

"But because it was team-mates, and they touched, we are going to discuss it, as we did many things in the past.

"These boys have emotions and that's what F1 and racing is all about."
