Take a bow *Sir Lewis Hamilton.

*(Not yet, but maybe in a few years time...)

The 30-year-old from Stevenage has become only the second British driver after Sir Jackie Stewart to win three Formula 1 drivers' titles.

In a thrilling grand prix in Texas, Hamilton pressured Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg into a mistake during a frantic last 10 laps after a safety car and swept by to take his 10th win of 2015.

Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel could have kept the race open until Mexico next weekend had he finished second, but could manage only third place behind Rosberg.

    Sherwood out, who's coming in?published at 08:15

    Football

There is no Monday night Premier League match to look forward to but we've got plenty to reflect on, not least what will happen next at Aston Villa.

According to the bookies, this man is one of the favourites to replace the departed Tim Sherwood.

David Moyes' Real Sociedad beat Levante 4-0 at the weekend. Could he be heading home?

We'll take a look at that, and reflect on Sherwood's topsy-turvy time at Villa Park, from an FA Cup final last season to six straight league defeats this.

So then, here's what happened in the Premier League over the weekend.

If you were watching the Manchester derby, you might just have woken up by now. A thriller it was not.

    Pakistan v England (Second Test)

Straight to the cricket in Dubai where England need to bat all day to avoid defeat in the second Test against Pakistan.

While the mighty, in-form Joe Root was at the crease, there was a chance it might happen.

But Root went for 71 and since then, rather predictably, there has been a collapse, with Bairstow and Buttler also losing their wickets.

The ball is spinning around horribly and with the game still in the morning session, things are looking bleak.

At the moment England are on 187-6, with Ben Stokes and Adil Rashid at the crease.

It is 03:00 GMT in Austin, Texas, which means most people will be tucked up in bed.

We doubt Lewis Hamilton is though.

Hamilton became the first British driver to win back-to-back F1 world titles after winning the American Grand Prix, and we daresay he's currently out on the tiles enjoying himself. And quite rightly so.

More on that, plus the cricket - which is hanging in the balance on the fifth and final day of the England-Pakistan Test - and a load of football.

It's Sportsday. Enjoy. Here are today's back pages.
