Aston Villa legend Nigel Spink says he would like to see David Moyes replace Tim Sherwood as Villa boss, describing the Real Sociedad manager as the "best choice" because of his Premier League experience and knowledge of European football.
Spink, who won the European Cup with Villa, also says he is not shocked by Sherwood’s sacking after six consecutive defeats.
“The team looks like they are devoid of confidence, especially the new players he’s brought in this season," he said. "But I’m gutted for Tim because he came in like a whirlwind and a breath of fresh air, so it’s sad that it’s ended in this way.”

Sunderland 3-0 Newcastle
Newcastlehave lodged an appeal with the Football Association for the wrongful dismissal ofFabricio Colocciniduring Sunday’s Tyne-Wear derby match against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
Coloccini was given a straight red card by referee Robert Madley in first half injury time following an incident involving Steven Fletcher, which resulted in the awarding of a penalty kick.
The appeal will be heard by a Regulatory Commission tomorrow afternoon and the club will be notified of the result shortly afterwards.
Pakistan v England (Second Test)
England are hanging on in there over in Dubai.
With Adil Rashid on a battling 47 not out, and Mark Wood keeping him company on 17, England are 285-8.
It means if they bat for another two hours they will salvage the most unlikely of draws.
Chances of that happening on an increasingly tricky wicket, though, seem slim.
Yorke up for Villa job
Paul Waterman, Lichfield: Would love Dwight Yorke as manager (see entry at 10:44) - Villa LEGEND.
Even though he's so short on experience, Paul?

Commonwealth Games gold medallist Libby Clegg has been forced to pull out of the rest of the championships in Doha.
The 25-year-old visually-impaired sprinter was a late withdrawal from Sunday's T12 200m semi-finals after sustaining a foot injury in the warm-up. And she and guide Mikail Huggins are unable to compete in the 100m which starts on Monday.
It is the latest blow for Clegg who had to pull out of last year's European Championships in Swansea with illness and her 2015 season has also been affected by injuries.

Sri Lanka defeated West Indies by 72 runs in a rain-hit low-scoring second Test to take the series 2-0.
Rain washed out day four in Colombo and left the tourists - who were chasing a victory target of 244 - to begin the final day at the P Sara Oval on 20 for one.
But any hopes they had of salvaging a draw were ended by some terrific bowling by Rangana Herath and Milinda Siriwardana, as Sri Lanka triumphed.

Just what has gone wrong at Chelsea? Jose Mourinho looked like a man who couldn't tell you as his side suffered a fifth defeat of the season at West Ham on Saturday.

Pakistan v England (Second Test)
Oh dear. We may have just jinxed things.
Stuart Broad has gone, bowled by Wahab Riaz for 30.
It's 253-8 and the end is surely nigh.
Pakistan v England (Second Test)
Is the dream on? Can England salvage the most unlikeliest of draws in the Second Test against Pakistan?
Well, it remains highly improbable, but credit where it's due - Adil Rashid and Stuart Broad are batting very nicely indeed and have taken the tourists past the 250 mark.
Rashid is unbeaten on 33 while Broad is 28 not out.
Alas there is still a session-and-a-half to go and England need to bat till the end to scrape a result. Still, this is better han simply tthrowing the towel in.

There's a time and a place for a selfie; on the pitch at the Nou Camp during a game probably isn't one of them.
That didn't stop one intrepid pitch invader from grabbing Neymar for a quick snap as he was escorted from the playing surface during the 3-1 win over Eibar.
Barcelona's Brazilian midfielder happily obliged in a scene his number one fan is unlikely to be able to ever recreate ... mainly because he'll probably get banned from the ground.

Javier Mascherano was sent off for dissent but Suarez scored again to put Barca level with leaders Real.
