This scathing piece (subscription required), external digs deeper into the current situation at Chelsea and doesn't take any prisoners...
Quote MessageIt has been said that the antics of Jose Mourinho this season have brought shame upon Chelsea and their owner, Roman Abramovich. But let’s be frank: Mourinho couldn’t bring shame upon the Russian oligarch if he turned up to Stamford Bridge dressed in drag, proceeded to insult every football referee in history and then sacked 20 of the medical staff before breakfast.

Until recently, the only thing Wallsend Boys’ Club could take from seeing former junior player Fraser Forster turn out in the Premier League and for England is pride. However, thanks to John Devine, partner and head of sport at law firm Muckle LLP, they now have some money to show for their efforts in helping Forster on the way to stardom.
Devine has spent a year working to secure funds each club is entitled through FIFA’s so-called ‘solidarity mechanism’,, external which stipulates that 5% of any international transfer fee must be set aside by the buying club to be distributed among each club the payer was registered with between his 12th and 23rd birthday.
Devine has also helped Senrab FC receive their share of the fee Sunderland paid Toronto for their former player Jermain Defoe.

Jose Mourinho seemed pretty relaxed in the aftermath of defeat to Stoke, praising his team and answering questions thrown at him by the media.
But apparently not every journalist got nice Jose.
Conducting an interview with Bein Sports, Mourinho reacted to a question about Chelsea's defending for the goal they conceded by saying 'you want to go for the negative, I don't', patted his interviewer on the shoulder, and walked off saying 'bye'.

Sepp Blatter is still swinging away, despite his suspension from any football activity. In an interview with TASS (a Russian news agency), he has claimed that Uefa chief Michel Platini (also suspended) is at the root of the conflict surrounding the world’s largest sports organization.
"At the beginning it was only a personal attack. It was Platini against me. He started it, but then it became politics," Blatter said.
The 79-year-old goes on to suggest that Platini's personal attack broadened to a Uefa and then European Union objection to him being Fifa president.

Stoke 1-1 Chelsea (Stoke win on pens)
Chelsea's players made their critics look "stupid" despite their Capital One Cup exit at Stoke, said a defiant Jose Mourinho.
The Blues boss claimed their display in the penalty shootout defeat, after a 1-1 draw, was enough to rubbish claims his players were not playing for him.
"What the players did tonight is face the people that write and say, 'you are stupid'," said 52-year-old Mourinho.
"You think the players did not give everything to win the game? That is really sad."

Britain's Richard Whitehead smashed his own T42 200m world record as he reached Wednesday's final at the IPC Athletics World Championships in Doha.
The 39-year-old powered through to win in 24.10 seconds, beating the 24.38 he set to win gold at London 2012.
"I knew I was in great shape and I wanted to go out and deliver that performance," Whitehead told BBC Sport.
Also through to the final is team-mate Dave Henson, who captained GB at last year's Invictus Games.

It is one of the hardest skills in cricket: bowling a good leg-spinner.
Adil Rashid became the first England leg-spinner to take five wickets in a Test since 1959 when he claimed 5-64 in the second innings of the first Test against Pakistan.
Our man Justin Parkinson has taken a in-depth look at why leg spin has proved such an illusive art to master in England and how Rashid could inspire more young cricketers in this country to try their hand at the discipline.
