    Now Manuel Pellegrini is after a second victory in four days against Jurgen Klopp - and has the Premier League in his sights.

    Pellegrini knows Manchester City could be 12 points behind Leicester by the time his side take the field at Anfield on Wednesday.

    They will have two matches in hand but the gap needs to close quickly.

    World indoor 1500m champion Abeba Aregawi has been provisionally suspended, external after testing positive for a banned substance.

    The Ethiopia-born Swede, 25, failed an out-of-competition test conducted by governing body the IAAF.

    Aregawi, who won gold at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow and 2014 World Indoor Championships in Sopot, has requested a B sample be tested.

    Britain's Hannah England finished fourth behind Aregawi in Moscow.

    Leicester Tigers centre Manu Tuilagi is celebrating today after being named in a 33-man England training squad for the Six Nations game with Wales at Twickenham.

    Tuilagi, who last played for England in 2014, has been out for 15 months with groin and hamstring problems.

    Exeter flanker Dave Ewers is also included in the squad, after recovering from a knee injury.

    England lead the Six Nations with three wins, while Wales are unbeaten going into the match on 12 March.

    Reigning Olympic and World champion Greg Rutherford and London 2012 Olympic bronze medallist Robbie Grabarz have today been announced in a 23-strong British Athletics team for the IAAF World Indoor Championships.

    Chris Baker, currently ranked world number two, makes his global championship debut alongside Grabarz in the high jump, with Shara Proctor and Tiffany Porter also included in the team.

    The championships take place in Portland, USA from 17-20 March.

    It's not quite a come and get me plea but it's not far off.

    Borussia Monchengladbach's Granit Xhaka has fuelled speculation he will move to the Premier League next season by saying it is his "childhood dream" to play in England.

    The 23-year-old has attracted plenty of attention from around Europe this season- with Liverpool and Man City both said to be interested in the midfielder - but he told Sport1.de there is only one place where he would love to play.

    "Everybody has a childhood dream, and for me it is England," the Switzerland international said.

    Leicester Tigers back row Laurence Pearce has agreed a move to Sale Sharks for next season. The 25-year-old has scored four tries in 12 appearances for the Tigers this season.

    "Laurence is a dynamic ball carrier who will boost our already abrasive back five," said Sale director of rugby Steve Diamond.

    Geoffrey Boycott will have something to say about this one.

    Yorkshire CCC chairman Steve Denison has asked club members not to back Boycott's return to the board of directors.

    Former England opener Boycott made 609 first-class appearances for Yorkshire and was president from 2012 to 2014.

    The 75-year-old does not hold a board position, but acts informally as an overseas ambassador for the club. "We want individuals with skills that can guarantee the survival of the club," Denison told BBC Radio Leeds.

    Referee Nigel Owens will officiate in the first qualifying match for Rugby World Cup 2019 when St Vincent and the Grenadines host Jamaica on Saturday.

    Welshman Owens took charge of the 2015 World Cup final when New Zealand beat Australia 34-17 at Twickenham on 31 October, and will now help kick off the global tournament's new four-year cycle.

    Some news from overnight from Mexico, where British duo Johanna Konta and Heather Watson are through to the second round of the Monterrey Open.

    Konta, the British number one, beat Colombia's Mariana Duque-Marino 6-3 6-3, while Watson saw off Japan's Misaki Doi 6-4 6-7 (0-7) 6-3.

    Australian Open semi-finalist Konta will play either Belgian Yanina Wickmayer or Johanna Larsson of Sweden.

    Watson, who has fallen to 84th in the world, faces either Hungarian Timea Babos or Slovenia's Polona Hercog.
