It is Rafa Benitez's first game in charge since taking over as Newcastle boss, and it is arguably the toughest game of the season, heading to the King Power Stadium to face league leaders Leicester.

If Leicester win the Premier League this season, then there will only one place to be for the best party in town.

Jamie Vardy is in the form of his life, scoring goals for fun for his club and barring injury guaranteeing himself a place in Roy Hodgson's Euro 2016 England squad.

But with Newcastle defender Fabricio Coloccini a doubt with a calf problem, it may be a job for Steven Taylor and Jamaal Lascelles to keep the Leicester star quiet. A tough ask.

Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez has been linked with Barcelona, Arsenal and Real Madrid but his agent has told BBC World Service that the Algerian is not being distracted by transfer speculation.

"Today the only thing that matters to him is winning the title with Leicester and qualifying for the Champions League," says Kamel Bengougam.

“He’s very happy. Since arriving at the club only good things have happened to him. He's played at the World Cup, he's moved up into the Premier League. Today, he's playing for the team at the top of the league in England. 

“This is not the time to talk about that. It's the time to concentrate on finishing the season well. The transfer window will open after the season. Then we'll be able to see if these stories are true or false.

“What's good with him is that he loves football. He doesn't like what goes on around football."

But that quip aside, Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he is likely to leave Paris St-Germain this summer after helping them clinch a fourth successive French title.

The 34-year-old - the top scorer in PSG's history - told beIN Sports: "For the moment, I will not be at PSG next season. I still have a month and a half left here."

Mind you, PSG's owners could probably afford to meet his demands...

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has defended Dimitri Payet after the influential midfielder was accused of diving during Sunday's 1-1 FA Cup draw at Manchester United.

Reds boss Louis van Gaal said: "Payet was, more or less, diving."

Bilic responded: "Come on. If you have a screen, show me.... There is more than a contact. It is definitely not a dive.

"Nobody in the world can say there wasn't a touch. Then if it was a touch, and it is more than a touch, it is a penalty."

Arsenal legend Ian Wright says "it is tearing him apart" to see Arsene Wenger come under fire from Gunners fans.

Wenger faces increasing criticism from some supporters angry with the club's poor form, with one banner urging him to end his 19-year reign as manager.

The London club have slipped to third in the Premier League table and exited the FA Cup at the weekend.

Wright told BBC Radio 5 live that he found it "very uncomfortable" to see Wenger being treated the way he is.

"It is tearing me apart because I played for him and have a lot of respect for him," said Wright. "He gave me extra years on my career."

West Ham's Andy Carroll is dreaming of FA Cup glory, a top-four finish and an England recall in time for Euro 2016.

"My run in the side hasn't been continuous, but it's still a dream to play for my country. It's something I want to do and I will never give up on it," said the striker.

"I have great memories of Euro 2012 and would love to be there again

"I have three things to aim (for) with the club pushing for top four, the FA Cup final and making the England squad."

Warrington's Australian forward Mitchell Dodds is facing a six-month injury layoff but head coach Tony Smith is refusing to rule him out for the rest of the season.

The 26-year-old former Brisbane Broncos front-rower broke both his tibia and fibula during the Wolves' 30-20 Super League win over Catalans Dragons in Perpignan on Saturday.

Wakefield forward Tinirau Arona has been charged with making dangerous contact on St Helens winger Adam Swift during the Wildcats' 44-4 Super League defeat at Langtree Park.

Swift was carried from the field on a stretcher following Arona's tackle, which occurred six minutes into last Friday's game and angered Saints coach Keiron Cunningham.

St Helens have announced that Swift has suffered a lower leg injury and will be seeing a surgeon later, adding on their Twitter account: "KC (Cunningham) says it isn't a short term injury but no further updates at this time."

Nottingham Forest midfielder Andy Reid joins the Championship club's coaching staff following Dougie Freedman's sacking.

Former England captain Will Carling has been on BBC Radio 5 live to discuss England's Six Nations success, and he reckons new coach Eddie Jones "deserves a lot of credit".

"I think he's come in and treated the players as grown-ups," said Jones. "He's worked them a lot harder but I think they've also had some fun.

"He talks about winning and it is about winning. He hasn't changed the personnel that much but he's changed the whole way that they approach the game, their training and playing for England.

"It's not rocket science - I think they're enjoying it.”
