    England v Bangladesh

England's opening fixture of the Bangladesh tour is shaping up to be a real nail-biter.

After 30 overs, the home side are 174-4, chasing the 310 Engalnd posted courtesy of a Ben Stokes ton and half-centuries from debutante Ben Duckett and stand-in captain Jos Buttler.

Imrul Kayes - who scored a century in England warm-up fixture against an invitational XI - is 86 not out and looking ominous.

'Swansea players need confidence'published at 15:54 British Summer Time 7 October 2016

    Bob Bradley press conference

    Bob BradleyImage source, Press Association

Bob Bradley says all his new squad needs is a little confidence. If this is anything to go by, he could be the man to deliver the team talks to restore it.

"We're a team that has had a little bit of bad luck and lost a bit of confidence," he says.

"Sometimes when results go against you and you lose a bit of confidence, little things slip away from you a little bit. And now maybe there's moments when there's got to be a bit more confidence.

"At the beginning with the group I told them 'you guys know how to play football, I've seen you'. But now we need to find a little confidence and get better again."

And after that marathon press conference, in which all things from football, to Bradley's father's career in the marines to Sir Alex Ferguson's training methods were discussed, I need a lie down.

England need English manager, not Klinsmann - Bradleypublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 7 October 2016

    Bob Bradley press conference

Well, it doesn't seem that Bob Bradley is Jurgen Klinsmann's biggest fan.

And when he's asked whether the current USA boss would be a good fit for the England position, he wasn't shy in playing down his international successor's hopes.

"I think you have some very good Premier League coaches in England," he said.

"I think there are times when it makes sense to go outside of the country to get a manager for the national team. But I think with England, you have to go inside.

"You've got to get someone who it means more to them than anything to take over as England manager, and to re-establish the identity and to do it in a way that makes the people of England proud."

    Sorry Jurgen!

Bradley still unhappy about USA exitpublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 7 October 2016

Bob Bradley's first news conference as Swansea

No-one likes likes boring news conferences where the manager has nothing to say. Judging by this introduction, Bob Bradley is going to be great entertainment for the Premier League.

The American is asked about Jurgen Klinsmann, the man who replaced him as the US head coach in 2011. The German had described Swansea's decision to appoint Bradley as "fantastic".

"That's the trickiest question that's been asked so far," says Bradley. "From the day I was fired by the US I've not said one thing publicly about that team.

"I don't appreciate the way it was done, I think they made a mistake and I'm glad that Jurgen says some nice things now, but he did commentary on the 2010 World Cup and he was already jockeying for the job. So, I've shut my mouth and continued to support the team [USA], of course I want to see the team do well."

The capacity for the West Midlands derby between Birmingham City and Aston Villa on Sunday, 30 October has been limited to 25,000 on safety grounds.

The Championship match - the first second-tier meeting between the rivals since 1987 - is a 12:00 GMT kick-off.

The full capacity at St Andrew's is 30,016 but will be reduced by a sixth.

A statement on Blues' website said: "The decision has been agreed after consultation between West Midlands Police and the club's safety team."

'Swansea have gained a lot of supporters this week'published at 15:21 British Summer Time 7 October 2016

Bob Bradley's first news conference as Swansea boss

The new Swansea boss Bob Bradley is certainly entertaining. His news conference is still going on and he says his appointment as manager will have led to many Americans following the club.

"Swansea City FC has gained a lot of supporters this week, they're not as hardcore as the ones you had but I hope we'll get them there," says Bradley.

American duo Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan bought a controlling stake in the club earlier in the year and Bradley is looking forward to working with them.

He adds: "When you sit and you talk with guys like this what hits you right away is why they've been successful, they're smart. As new American owners, they're on a learning curve, but I'm impressed by their understanding of what the club is about. I don't think they'd have got to where they are by making bad decisions."

    'I don't know Guidolin. I've heard he's a good man'published at 15:11 British Summer Time 7 October 2016

Bob Bradley's first news conference as Swansea manager

The questions are tough for Bob Bradley, who is asked what he has that Ryan Giggs, who was also linked with the Swansea job, doesn't?

"You can't answer that," says Bradley. "As you get older, what you learn is that you really understand who you are and what you're about.

"I've been in enough interviews and I don't go in to sell myself. I had a discussion with Huw Jenkins and enjoyed it. I talk about how I see football.

"At the end of my interviews I said let's be clear about one thing. I hope you win [before the Liverpool game] and I hope you keep winning. I didn't want a job because the last man was losing. I don't know Francesco Guidolin, I've heard he's a good man, I know he's a good football man. I didn't want the job because he got sacked."

    Football

More quotes from new Swansea boss Bob Bradley. He says: "In a perfect world I would have finished the job there [at his last club Le Havre], if I had my way I'd have gone to the end with that team, to reach the goal.

"But this time is different. For me, I'm going to learn a lot more, but I already know enough about Swansea City Football Club.

"I know I'm at a club with a soul, that has real passion and real fans. That for me is special, as well as being in the Premier League where you get challenged at the top level."

Bob Bradley's first Swansea news conference

New Swansea City boss Bob Bradley, the first American to manage in the Premier League, is giving his first news conference.

He says: "First, I'm honoured to be at Swansea City Football Club. The football in the US, we've always learned you have to earn respect, if in some way this helps football in my country I'm proud of what I've been able to do.

"But this stuff about being a pioneer - I'm not an American manager, I'm a football manager. There's not one person in Swansea who could care less about America."

West Indies matches will show how good England arepublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 7 October 2016

Things happen early in Jamaica, probably because it's completely dark by 6pm. At just after 7am, England's women are already up and getting ready for training.

These five matches against West Indies will be a good indication of where Heather Knight's new-look side really are. Knight is part of a powerful top three, but what do the rest of the top-order have? Danni Wyatt (pictured) scored 90 in a practice match yesterday.

I think Fury will fight again - Frochpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 7 October 2016

    Boxing

Carl Froch believes that WBO and WBA world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will fight again, despite his recent troubles.

Fury pulled out of his title defence against Wladimir Klitschko due to reported mental health issues, and revealed he has taken cocaine since his last fight, prompting the British Boxing Board of Control to say it may revoke his license.

“I think we will see him back in the ring again," four-time super-middleweight world champion Froch told BBC Radio 5 live.

"I think this is something he can get over and move forward from. He’s in a position where he can really make a lot of money. He’s young enough, big enough, and strong enough to get in a ring with anybody.

“I think it will be a real shame if Tyson Fury never boxed again. I think he would be sadly missed by the boxing purists.”
