No doubt we'll revisit this story later on, but if you're all Hodgson-to-Leicester'd out for the moment then let's have a look at what else has been going on around the sporting world.
In fact, if really fast cars are your thing, our man Jamie Strickland is live texting day three of Formula 1 testing in Spain ahead of the 2017 season, and you can join him right here

More from Dean Kiely on Hodgson: "He’s been very successful and he’s done it over a long time, he can go in, get his training kit and office and work away and affect the club he is working for.
"The players respond great to him, certainly at West Brom and I know at Fulham they did. I was fortunate to go in for England training when Roy invited me in.
"On the grass he comes alive and the best thing for me was in and around St George’s Park the players responded great to Roy, he’s a fantastic fella away from football also, very engaging and the time I spent with him was excellent for me, I learned a lot."

Kiely, who worked under Hodgson as a goalkeeping coach, told BBC Radio 5 live: "Working with Roy was great for me, he just wants to be out on the training ground, with tracksuit on and coaching the players.
"He was great at West Brom, he brought stability. I can see why he’s on anyone’s shortlist, his public perception is totally wrong to how he is as a person and how the players react to him, which is only positive from my point of view.
"The end of his England reign and the game against Iceland was quite negative but shouldn’t wash away all the good work he had done in the campaign leading up to that and also his club management career, certainly at West Brom, where I worked with him at close quarters."

Former Republic of Ireland international Dean Kiely worked with Roy Hodgson at West Brom and he's been talking to BBC Radio 5 live about the former England boss potentially taking charge of the Foxes.

One person who is backing Shakespeare is Leicester defender Danny Simpson who has given him his backing to become the club's permanent manager.
"I can't see why not, but it's the chairman's decision," he said. "It's up to him and he owns the club, he is passionate about the club. Those decisions are nothing to do with us but, for me, he [Shakespeare] has been really good.
"Since day one he has helped me a lot. He is a top coach, a top guy and he has taken it on naturally. He has kept it simple and told us what he wanted to do, which was simple and basic, and we've done that so let's hope we can carry it on for him.
"The chairman is his own man and he makes his decisions. All we have to do is play football. We know we haven't played how we can - we're first to admit that - but we have to carry on. Leicester carries on."

The Daily Mirror says, external caretaker manager Craig Shakespeare will meet Leicester's owners on Wednesday, with the Foxes players backing Claudio Ranieri's former assistant for the job full-time.
Here is that story in the Mail..., external
Former England manager Roy Hodgson has held talks with Leicester City over their vacant managerial position.
OK, we mentioned the Roy Hodgson to Leicester City rumours doing the rounds, so let's have a quick look at who is saying what...
Brighton 1-2 Newcastle
It's a good morning if you are a Newcastle fan after Rafael Benitez's side beat Brighton 2-1 to leapfrog the Seagulls and move back to the top of the Championship.
Mohamed Diame and Ayoze Perez scored in the last 10 minutes for Newcastle with Diame's effort a contender for the 'Bizarre Goal of the Season' award.
Christian Atsu, who had been a constant menace to Brighton all night, tried his luck from the edge of the area and the ball ricocheted off not one, but two colleagues, Diame being the second, before finding its way into the roof of the net.
It was a big, big night in the Championship. If you missed it, here's what happened...
